Stayed here for five nights and enjoyed it.
The site is small and well maintained. The toilet/shower block is very good and clean with use of fridge sink etc.
The road leading to was in poor condition and don't know what we would have done if someone was coming the other was.
The site is a working dairy farm however this never disturb or bothered us, in fact it was nice to get up close to the animals.
The pitches all seemed to slope to some degree, we unknowingly pitched in the wrong location when we got there as nobody was on site but was told any pitch was fine over the phone. Only to be told later in the day where we pitched was reserved for a group coming the following day. Lady wasn't rude about it but we did feel a bit uncomfortable so moved on to another pitch.
The view from the hardstanding pitch is very nice.
If you want a small site that's nice and peaceful but with things to do that require a drive, this is ideal.

I love this site. It is great for local attractions, such as Alton Towers.
When we got there, there was a little pack of envelopes etc to pay for the pitch because the farmer was out. This was a nice idea, and makes it less regimented like other sites I've been to in the past, with one way systems etc, camping is for fun after all!
The toilet blocks were great. Showers good toilets etc clean.
My favourite thing was the free use of a fridge, freezer and electric in the wash up/kitchen area. It meant we didn't need to use a trailer to take all the extras! Great for a weekend get away.
Not a lot for the kids, but I knew this upon booking and my kids enjoy camping so don't need a commercialised site to keep them happy. The only thing that worried me was the electric fencing for the cows in the bottom field, but we just pitched on the top field to avoid this becoming a problem

We stayed in a camping pod here for a couple of days at the start of April. We had been due to camp in a tent but we chickened out at the last minute due to a poor weather forecast, and luckily a pod was available.
There are two pods which are the family size ones - we just managed to wedge one double and two single airbeds across the width of the pod, which left room for bags etc at the door end of the pod.
Outside the pods have a small veranda with a wooden storage box (good for cool box, stove, beer etc) and a picnic bench nearby. Our pod was the one you can see on the photos on the website, and I think it is the better located of the two, as it faces out away from the rest of the campsite and you have uninterrupted views across the countryside.
There are also 5 hardstandings, and about a dozen tent pitches, some of which have EHU. The facilities are good for the size of site - 4 shower rooms and a well equipped kitchen including kettles, microwave, fridge, freezer and toaster. We didn't need to use the fridge however as it was so cold we just left milk etc outside!
All the facilities were well looked after and kept clean. The farmer and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and the farmer was happy for us to go and watch the cows being milked one afternoon which our children found very interesting.
We visited Sudbury museum of childhood which the kids enjoyed, especially going up the chimney like a Victorian chimney sweep! It was very busy though due to it being half term.
We had a good breakfast at the café on the industrial estate (details in the campsite kitchen) not exactly a picturesque setting but good food! We also ate at the Barn Indian Restaurant which was also very good, although not cheap.
Some previous reviews mentioned the electric fence, but I think this issue has been resolved as the lower camping field appeared to have a new wooden fence around it.
We'd like to visit this site again in better weather as I feel we didn't see it in it's best light (we had high winds followed by sleet and snow one night!).
The site has panoramic views across the countryside, but the price for this is it's quite exposed to the elements, but in good weather it must be lovely.

We booked the pod at Forestside Farm and we were very pleasently surprised at the space and comfort of it. We made use of the electricity and heating during our stay. The patio and bench was great to use in the day time.
The site itself was great, very clean facilities and offered all that is needed from amenities on a camp site. The views are stunning!
The staff at the camp were very friendly and welcoming.
The local pubs were very welcoming and the food was great.
The site is very easy to get to and not far from larger towns and cities.
The only issue to raise is the lack of paths and walking routes outlined in the area but this has no reflection of Forestside farm at all.
We will be back and we will definitely stay in the pods again, truly recommended place to go for a break!

My boyfriend and I travelled down from Aberdeen and stayed at this site for seven nights at the start of October in a Gelert5 tent. The day we arrived (Saturday) was quite busy, I think due to the heat wave England was getting. We decided to pick a pitch away from the main pitches for privacy and feeling of our own space. The rest of the week was very quiet with only us or one other tent and the caravans.
Fantastic little site and the facilities were brilliant, really felt spoiled with the kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and freezer. The showers always provided us with lovely warm/hot water and the power of the shower was good and always clean.
The campsite itself is on a working dairy farm and I had a great time walking around looking at the new calves and the smell on the farm, you really do feel like you are in the heart of the countryside.
Marchington which is easy to walk too has two pubs the Dog and Partridge and The Bulls head, both small local pubs. Other pubs within 5 mins driving from the campsite were The Blacksmith Arms on way back from Uttoxeter. The Swan Inn and the Roebuck Inn in Draycott In the Clay. Another good little find is The Barn and we had a meal one night there which we both really enjoyed, it is not far from the campsite either. You could walk to it.
There is a large(ish) Tesco in Uttoxeter that we got everything we needed for our week of Camping.
During our visit we went to Alton Towers for a two day Visit and took no longer than 25-30mins driving.
Cadbury World in Birmingham is about 40mins drive from the campsite.
And well worth a visit is The National Brewery Centre in Burton Upon Trent, only around 15-20mins.
There is also a lovely little Monkey Forest in Trentham which is only about 20mins drive.
We both really enjoyed our time camping at this site and the lovely villages and small towns around it (all red brick villages and just gorgeous). There is lots of information in the washing area block for around the area. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
We will definitely visit again if we are down that direction with the tent.

We stayed here for 2 nights when going to visit Alton Towers.
This is such an amazing little site! The owners were very welcoming. There were 2 bathrooms each for men and women (though a separate loo would be useful), the kitchenette was very well equipped too (microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge freezer).
The pitches were in the corner of a large field that is shared with their organic dairy herd (separated by an electronic fence). The first night (Thursday) was very quiet (just my partner & I and a another small group). The second night there were a few larger groups who arrived, but still fairly quiet. It was nice to sit ourside our tent and enjoy the view as the sun went down.
I would really like to return to this site and explore around the site.

Stayed here for two nights in September.
The site is very simple, but perfect. On the edge of a hill, sheltered from the winds by the woods behind and fantastic views to the front.
Plenty of wildlife to be seen, whilst sitting in your chair watching the world go by.
The facilities are minimal, but fantastic. The best I've seen yet, there's two toilets and showers for men and women. Very clean, plenty of room and plenty of hot water.
The washing up facilities are great. Only one sink but very clean and like a little kitchen with a kettle, microwave and fridge freezer free to use. Whilst the toilets/showers and washing up facilities are minimal, we never had to queue.
Fantastic site and we certainly will be back.

Found this campsite last minute as I had left booking for a Bank Holiday weekend way too late. I called them mid afternoon Friday looking for a Saturday night pitch. They managed to accommodate us (my son 14 and I) with a 2 man tent for only £12. 00. Too be honest this did not give me very high expectations as it was cheap compared to other sites I had looked at and the fact they had last minute availability.
On arrival the greeting from the owners daughter was very polite and she gave all the information we required although not that much to tell us due to the size of the site. I have to say the site exceeded my expectations, as this is a most wonderful small site if you want to get away from it all and don't want all the bells and whistles that go with larger sites.
The facilities block, toilets, showers & kitchen were kept clean and plenty of hot water. The surrounding countryside and forest were a delight to walk round.
The site was an ideal base to visit local attractions and towns (Uttoxeter was lovely, worth the visit just to see the most amazing public toilets I've ever seen, they had more awards than Harrison Ford!) and it's also close to Alton Towers (approx 9 miles).
I would definitely visit this site again and recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Moved here after very disappointing first night in the area at another campsite.
This is a beautiful site, gorgeous views across the fields and the lovely forest behind.
The facilities are wonderful, there are 4 full bathrooms containing toilet, washbasin and shower, 2 male and 2 female. There's a potwash area containing a sink, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, 2 kettles and lots of information on the surrounding area on things to do and places to eat.
The farmer and his wife were very welcoming and helpful.
This is a working dairy farm so there are cows in the surrounding fields and stalls which children staying on the site enjoyed looking at.
The site was very quiet during the week but noisier at the weekend.
All in all I would highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a lovely countryside campsite with great views and a lovely atmosphere.
