Were on the last night of a 2 night stay, we love the site and can’t fault it. Helen is extremely hard working giving everyone a lovely friendly welcome. We highly recommend Helens Home Baking, We had cheese scones this afternoon and Rhubard crumble muffins after tea. Both were extremely Light and tasty. Helen even baked them for mid afternoon so we could have fresh scones and a cuppa tea after a days walking.
The Site is on a working farm, Its been nice to see all the animals. The caravan pitches are well spaced out and the grass and hedges all well kept. The facilities are well kept and the showers are free and plenty of hot water. We’d like to say a big thank you to Helen and we will see you in July

This is a superb small, quiet, simple site which suited us perfectly. It's family friendly with plenty of field to play on, farm animals all around for the children to explore, and in the middle of Dalby Forest with loads of activities to enjoy. Including an excellent playground. There are also, of course, forest trails for mountain biking at all levels of experience.
A trip to the East coast beaches or to York is easy to fit in to a holiday.
The welcome is warm and friendly with plenty of advice regarding the local area. The farm also sells its own burgers. Sausages and pork chops which are just so, so tasty!
The shower block is fine with plenty of hot water and always kept clean. There is also an excellent washing up room.
The site is a little off the beaten track but shops of all sorts are only a few miles away so there is no real problem.
Yes, this is a quiet site with no late night noise allowed but that is exactly what we want. We have just returned from our 2nd visit and will be back there next year!

We stayed for a week (2 adults, 6 year old and 2 year old and 2 dogs). This is an amazing campsite! Really nice and quiet and nicely off the roads but still 10 minutes away from Thornton-le dale for shops.
There is a toilet block with washing up room; 2 standard showers and a larger shower room; male and female toilets with 2 in each. Showers could do with being slightly stronger or not as widely spread out (I have really thick hair that takes a bit to get shampoo out)
It is a basic toilet block but always nice and clean and warm.
There is a freezer available in the owners house for freezer blocks.
The site is a triangle shape going away from the toilet blocks with tents going down each side and pods towards the end point. The best feature of this site is the space in the middle for kids to play. The site rule of 5mph for cars is strictly controlled and it meant I was happy with my kids playing out. The hedges on each side kept them contained so the only exit was up the field towards the entrance.
The ground is nice and flat with only the slightest incline.
Others have commented on the 10pm noise rule - we never saw/heard the owner to enforce this but we were always in bed by 10pm and it was nice and quiet.
Fabulous site - already wanting to come back!
Locally there are lots of walks, two local playgrounds. The site cost includes the fee for entrance to the forest drive.

We stayed for two nights during the very cold spell at the end of April. On the second night we were given a quilt to use and also offered one of there camping pods if we wanted, nothing was too much trouble.
The campsite itself is in a stunning location in Dalby Forest, beautifully maintained. The breakfast rolls are really good, home baked bread, their own sausages and eggs.
This site represents what proper camping is all about and should be applauded for it.

What a gem of a place. Super flat field, well kept and great services.
Toilet and shower block were super, showers always lovely and warm, and no issue with them being push button, plus had a place for shampoo etc, and plenty of hooks for clothes!
Biking was superb from the site, and was great to have a bike wash off when we got back, a little muddy!
Great site rules, just loved the peace and quiet.
Being on the farm was fab, to see the pigs etc just super.
Great owners, super place, would love to go back.

Don't really want to tell anyone about this site!
If you want peace and quiet but with country sounds then this is the place.
Fantastic level site on grass with plenty of 'space' around you we took our dog who had a double length of tether and could play happily without upsetting those who look disapprovingly on dogs.
The farm is a great place and the farmer and his wife work tirelessly but have time to stroke our dog and chat about the farm and their animals, great animal husbandry.
Shower block and washing families are some of the best we stayed at and heated towel rail (luxury) in one shower room, plenty of room and the added bonus of a drying room. 2 washing up sinks.
Good fair rules on board outside so no ones in any doubt about what behaviour is expected, we liked the 10 pm noise curfew, other sites please note!
Good walking, biking as you would expect in Dalby Forest.
Pickering not far away for the wonderful steam railway.
Have recommended the site to friends and if we visit that part of Yorkshire again we will definitely stay there, wished we had stayed longer.

Visited this site in June. We chose this site as it was a perfect location, situated in Dalby Forest, for what we wanted for our biking holiday. The site location was good, well sheltered and level. We wanted a nice peaceful holiday to unwind, and the bike trails in Dalby Forest were superb.
The facilities on site were good but feel there could be room for improvement. Showers were always hot but the cubicles would be better if they had been somewhere to put your toiletries and more hooks to hang your clothes and towel. The toilet/washroom had NOWHERE AT ALL to hang towels and only had two wash basins and only one in the gents. If it was a busy time of year, I can just imagine the queues. This could easily be rectified with a small stand or extra hooks. Also, the bins were not emptied for a whole week and hand wipes only replaced when we asked. They like their rules here. There is a 10. 30pm noise curfew, no problem, but one evening we were talking with fellow campers in our tent and got 'told off' twice for being too noisy! We were shocked and felt that we did not need to be treated like naughty children. The following morning we mentioned this to our neighbours and they said they had not heard a thing! A GREAT site, but as others have also said, watch out for the rules!

An amazing site, which we fully recommend. The site is an immaculate, working farm with lovely views. The farmers are both friendly and helpful. Despite working round the clock, they have time to help with queries and talk to you about their animals. There is a strict 10pm noise curfew which is understandable as the farmers’ house is on the site, there are young children on site and some campers will be off early for a day of cycling
The site is level and extremely well cared for. The ground is easy to knock pegs in and children can cycle around safely. The pods are in one corner and looked clean and cosy. We didn't use the toilet and kitchen block but they were clean and adequate.
There is a barn with an open side so that you can see the cows feeding from the site and you might get to see a calf being born. There are piglets and chickens. There are also lambs which children are able to feed and a badger comes on sight at night, although we didn’t get to see it.
Food is available from the farm if you book it in time the evening before. Bacon, sausage and egg butties in homemade bread rolls, scones and meat. That’s if you can face eating bacon butties after seeing the piglets.
The forest itself is well planned and with a map from the visitors centre you can choose a route which is suitable for your own abilities. There is a bike shop to hire bikes or get bikes fixed, although it did seem quite expensive. We had our own bikes with us. The visitors centre (a mile away) has a wide range of food and drink with a picnic and barbecue areas and a children’s play area.
Thorton Le Dale is a small, picturesque village about 5 miles from the campsite. It is possible to cycle there although there is a biggish hill in both directions. It has two pubs, serving great food, three coffee shops, a NISA shop, chip shop, pharmacy, newsagent, two churches and a village green. A stream running in front of pretty cottages.
We are booked in for a second weekend soon and next year we are planning on coming for a week to ride the routes again and explore a little further afield.

Friendly owners made you feel welcome upon arrival, the site is flat and well kept. It's situated on a working farm. There was 4/5 glamping pods for those who hate pitching tents or those who prefer heating and electricity!
The site was lovely and quiet, and sited within dalby forest. We took part in the go ape treetop challenge, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only thing I could criticise would be the showers. The shower block was cold, although the water was lovely and warm, so getting undressed initially was a shivering challenge.
The push button for the showers was also a bit of a joke. The water flowed for no more than 4 seconds before you had to press the button again. Maybe the owners could look into this issue?
Overall a lovely site, in a great location, especially for mountain bikers wishing to cycle dalby forest, or even anyone wishing to visit the North York moors. Goathland is definitely worth a visit, the steam railway runs there.
Although I rated the child friendliness 5/10, the site is child friendly, but there's nothing on site for them to do. No park or swings etc. However, dalby forest has an amazing play area for children with stream running through it, which would make some fun paddling in warmer weather!
Definitely worthy of a return visit!

The site is in a great position, quiet and surrounded by forest and fields. We went over half term and as they were busy we were offered the chance to go in the top field with 2 other units (there's room for a few more). This is just a bit further away from the facilities but this suited us fine as it was beautifully quiet (apart from cows mooing but what do you expect in the country?!). The owners were friendly and helpful, the shower was very hot (only niggle was that it's the shortest run per press of the button I've ever come across). Lovely and clean and well looked after. We'll definitely come again.
