Stayed in one of the camping pods for a lads weekend away mountain biking with my Brother and my 13 year old son. The pod was fantastic, dry and warm in the horrendous weather we had for the whole weekend.
The facilities are basic but clean and functional. Hot showers with plenty of water and a bike wash area. The drying room helped us a lot for drying kit out for the next day.
The site is in the Dalby forest park and right next to the mountain bike trails both red and green. Owners were very friendly and accommodating, everything on the site is well kept.
We could not have asked for more other than better weather. We shall definitely return.

A lovely site situated on a working farm in the heart of Dalby forest. The site is well kept and almost level. There are 2 male and 2 female toilets, 2 showers, a washing up room and drying room. They were all clean. Ladies had a hairdryer operated by 20p's.
The site owners are very nice and helpful and the farmers wife bakes to order (the rubarb crumble muffins are fantastic). The owners seemed to be very particular not to allow overcrowding. Dalby forest has an entry cost of £7 per car per day.
We paid £14 a night to pitch here so well worth the money as you are given an code and so do not pay the entry fee. If you are planning on camping in this area and intend to visit Dalby forrest it definitely makes sense to stay here.

Stayed here with my partner and two kids (4, 10) Thursday Friday nights last week. Excellent site situated right in the centre of dalby forest on a working farm. We were going for biking and this is by far the best situated for this.
Turn left out the farm and you're at peg 6 of the red trail. Turn right and you come onto the green trail which if you follow to the left you will end up at dixons hollow in about 5 mins.
Toilets and showers very clean with instant hot water and also nice clean dish washing room and a drying room which proved very useful. All quiet after 10pm which is good.
Also you don't have to pay to get into the forest as they give you a password on booking and you can come and go as you please, it does say the forest closes at 8pm but there are no gates so you can go out without getting locked out for the night. Will definitely return soon !

Lovely little site situated in Dalby forest, great if you like to get out and about on walks or bikes.
We stayed here in May 2012 for 2 nights in our tent with 2 adults 1 child and a dog. Our main reason for choosing the site was it was close to Levisham station for the weekend of the steam gala, which we took our son for a ride on the trains for his birthday.
The site is small, not over crowded. Facilities are minimal but adequate the only thing I would say is hooks on the back of the toilet doors as it rained a LOT our first night and by the time we trecked to the toilet we were soaked and had no where to put our coats when using the toilet.
There isn't a childrens play area but my son kept himself entertained regardless, other children had plenty of space to kick a ball around and ride their bikes too.
Great little site, not sure we would return as there isnt really much to do in the immediate area with a disabled party member. Maybe if we just fancied a quiet relaxing weekend away from it all.

Three of us spent two days mountain biking in the forest and stopped in a pod over night, it was ideal for short break, plenty of space. Clean. Lights. Power point and heater. The toilets and showers were clean and free to use no finding coins for showers, there was a drying room that was a big plus as our kit was a bit wet
The site is situated next to point 6 on the forest trail so no riding or driving miles before the ride starts
The nearest pub is about three miles away so if this is a must for you it could be a down point
At night the site is nice and quiet and very dark, it was a clear night and I have never seen so many stars
Plan to return in the new year with with the kids. Its a great site with nice helpful owners, Thank you

Just spent a couple of nights at this site.
Fantastic, nice and peaceful. Everything seems to calm down by about 10pm (no complaints here)
Clean well set out plenty of space for kids to play, plenty of hot water clean toilet, shower block and a drying room
Loads to do in the forest plenty of good bike tracks for all the family. Kids play area at main visitor centre and adderstone field at the top end of this area are the bike tracks etc.
Owners were helpful and friendly, you can buy milk, eggs, sausages, burgers, chops even home make cakes on the site
Will be going back

Stayed at this wonderful campsite for two nights in a camping pod. It was our first experience of camping in a pod and it was excellent- well worth the extra pennies! The campsite as a whole was lovely- the location was just beautiful and all of the facilities there were kept incredibly clean.
It was our first visit to the Dalby Forest and will definitely be returning! Plenty of things to do for people who love the outdoors! I would recommend bringing a mountain bike, as there are lots of fabulous trails through the forest, although we had a great time exploring on foot. Pickering was a short drive away where there were many shops and amenities.
The owners of the campsite were really lovely and hospitable, ready to answer any questions if needed and they also sold fresh eggs that were laid on site, which were truely delicious!
Fantastic stay on a lovely site, will definitely be back!

Got back yesterday after the first solo trip away with my girls. Was wondering what was instore but even though the weather was wet and wild the welcome and care both Helen and Richard showed us was so appreciated.
The site was flat, well drained, facilities absolutely brilliant and area so lovely and peaceful.
Great that the owners don't over-crowd the field as I am not one for large 'village' style campsites and wallowed totally in sitting in peace listening to the pheasants, cows and watching the swallows dive over the tent.

We have just returned from here having spent 4 days there and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A bonus was that our dogs went free!
The farm is a working one, plenty of cows (they were very noisy at times). The owners were friendly.
Its a quiet site even over the Bank Holiday weekend, we were in bed for 10 every evening which isn't like us at all. Think we were tired from all the fresh air.
The shower/toilet area are kept very clean and have constant hot water the only downside were the showers themselves. I think the shower head needed to be descaled as it sprayed all over but at least it was hot.
The location is out of this world. I had never been to Dalby Forest before. WOW! Its amazing. Go Ape is not far from the campsite either.
The village of Thornton le Dale is about 3 or 4 miles down the road which has a bakery, butchers & Costcutters etc.
Would definitely go back.

Just had a great weekend with a 6 year old daughter and 16 year old son camping on this site. Brilliantly situated for biking in Dalby Forest, took track from site to Dixon's Hollow on Saturday evening and then on Sunday down to Dalby Visitor centre to do trails down there. Site basic but beautiful setting and fantastic value. Toilet and shower block was immaculate.
Daughter loved the animals on the farm and the freedom to ride her bike around. 10 minute drive into Thornton-le-Dale for great fish and chips and another 10 minutes to Pickering with a large co-op. Would definitely recommend it!
