A gem of a site. Nice facilities for a farm site and really relaxed. Farmer is a jolly man who does not ram hundreds of people onto the site. In fact only 10 pitches are available. A tip for anyone staying is to get a cycle map from the visitors centre on the way to the site then cycle out of the farm and right along the track you drove up to the site on. This takes you through a gate and joins the green (easy) addleston trail cycle route. No need to cycle down the hill to the visitors centre like we did. Check out the Go Ape in the forest too, by the visitors centre!

Had a one night stay in a new camp pod, taking my sister and her two sons. (Sister not into outdoor activities etc!) But I think this experience has converted her, she loved it. The site is small and the owner does not over fill it. The toilet/shower block very clean and warm and plenty of hot water. Only down side is the actual entrance to the site. As it is a small site there is no shop, play park etc but 1 mile down the track you are in the Dalby forest which is great for young and old. I enjoyed it so much I booked to go again in August with my partner.

We stayed at High Rigg for 3 nights in a family pod. The pod was an excellent alternative to our tent and large enough for 2 adults and 2 children.
There is lots of room for children to play on a large area in the centre of the field.
The toilets and shower block were kept very clean by the owner who was in regular contact with all on the site to check everything was ok.
Lots to do around the area, Whitby, Pickering and of course you are in Dalby Forest.
This is a lovely little site and with limited pitches (10) you must book early to avoid being disappointed. We will return without a doubt.

We stayed for a week at high rigg farm, the site got busy at the weekends, but during the week it was a lovely tranquil site, set right at the heart of the dalby forest. It is a field on a working farm, so great for cow spotting etc. We will definitely be back. Only one shower, which got busy. Very friendly farmer helped us out with our electric hook-up.

Stayed for one night over the bank holiday weekend, while mountain biking in the forest.
Very nice camp site with basic amenities, a second shower was being finished while we were there. The site drains very well due to a hardcore sub-base under the grass, although we found it difficult getting some of the pegs in. There were no pitches marked when we stayed, so you were not restricted on unit size.
We didn't use any local shops or pubs during our stay, but was informed that the nearest shops were in Thornton le-dale, a short car journey away.
I know it's not the owners fault but there had been a few bike thefts from the site in the period preceding our visit, so if you intend cycling during your stay make sure you take some locks or do what we did and put the bikes in the tent at night.
We would definitely use again if we returned to the forest cycling.

We stayed here for a week and had the only EHU for tents which was supplied via a long extension lead which the farmer kindly provided from the caravan area! The site is located at the top of a very steep and bumpy farm track and next to the farm itself. The field is huge and all the tents are pitched around the outside edges leaving the middle of the field free for games. It wasn't over crowded at all, there was loads of space and the grass was in excellent condition.
The field has a small toilet block, the ladies has 2 loos and one sink but there were 3 unisex showers and a washing up room with 2 sinks and loads of hot water! They were always clean and had soap and paper towels and toilet roll.
The farmer made regular trips around the site making sure everyone was ok and that no-one was misbehaving! He sells burgers and sausages for your BBQ too but the nearest supermarket is in Thornton-le-Dale, a 10 minute drive away.
There's plenty of cycle paths and places to walk from the farm, we even saw 2 deer leaping in front of us so there's wildlife to spot too!
We had a lovely time at High Rigg, book early as they do not fill the field so there aren't many spaces.

Recently made two visits to this site with our 4yr old, which I think says it all. First visit we took the tent, froze in the wind and then managed to get one of the new pods instead - much preferable in April. I read the reviews before going and have to note showers and washing facilities have been improved (no tokens and 2 additional units for each). The site is located in the forest and you don't need to pay the £7 but if you drive out at night make sure not to get locked out of the forest! The new pods are ideal for colder weather and don't cost the earth.

Cleanest campsite I've ever been too!
The toilet block is new and has free hot showers.
Pitches were all level good solid ground (no mud patches).
There are some new 2 & 4 man wooden pods which look like a great alternative to a tent, with locking doors and electric light (price is similar to the camping pitch).
Can think of no criticisms!

My family and I stayed in one of the new pods, loads better for me as I went before my husband so there was no way I could put our large family tent up on my own and this was the ideal solution, and warmer too, as it was blowing a gale There was plenty of room with two double air beds at one end, lots of floor space at the other. With the English weather as it is you need not worry of having a wet tent to take home. The site is in the middle of Dalby Forest, ideal for walkers and bikers. Toilet block was very clean and tidy, as was the showers, which was hot. Beautiful views, peaceful. Richard was very friendly came to see how we'd settled in, we often saw him walking round chatting to people. Can't wait to go back.

Great site. Toilet block. Hot shower. Elec hookup. Fantastic views all for a tenner. Farmer very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Popular so book early. Our day out at the 'Go Ape' was great. Followed by a wonderful walk in the forest next day. Good pub grub available nearby in Thornton. The cafe at the forest visitor centre was good also. Enjoy
