The site is adjacent to crag y nos caves, just of the main road. Camping area very well maintained flat areas for pitches.
Very modern toilet and shower block. Few midges in area. Pubs about 5 min walk.

Wonderful site. Lots of nooks and crannies to pitch in. Nice facilities. Including a drying room. Wonderful views of the hills with some walks just off site. The showcaves are brilliant, as is the dinosaur park.
Great value for money. One of my all time favourite sites. A staff member even let me use the phone to call home as the mobile matt was down for repair. Brilliant

Stayed here for two nights. Easy access even though roadways are a bit on the narrow side. Flat pitches, hardstanding and all with electric. Three showers and toilets for the men, which were kept clean, even though there were a lot of clientèle.
Short walk to the cave network, £14 adult entrance, this also covers the shire horse entry. All in all a good site and one we will return to.
The Gwyn Arms is a short walk away and we ate there both nights. Good welcome.

Just back from a lovely (if rainy) stay at this campsite.
It is a very laid back campsite and you can choose your own pitch. There are various areas aimed at adults only, families and quiet zones.
The shower blocks are clean and comfortable and staff friendly.
A critique would be that you have to pay for under 3's and there is an electric fence surrounding some areas so not completely child friendly.
A major down fall of this campsite is the midges! They were around all day and I have to say become a real nuisance despite covering ourself in insect repellent. Clearly this is a natural hazard of the beautiful surroundings and out of the control of the owners but those prone to being bitten should probably reconsider!

What a cracking place, our second visit here.
The whole place is spotless clean, lovely warm showers.
Peace and quiet guaranteed. Its a credit to mr price the owner who is none stop working on site trying to ensure that everyone is enjoying their stay. We would recommend this site to the Queen
We have found a haven in this place. Just a short distance from the site, is the award winning caves for everyone to enjoy a great day out, we will definitely be back.

Top marks. An excellent site, well maintained very clean, warden checking all the time that no litter etc is about. The facilities spot on and all the pitches are hard standing and flat, easy to set up with awning.
Very spacious and each pitch has its own EHU point with water in and waste out. We had never heard of these caves and everyone we asked didn't seem to know either but they are there and absolutely fabulous and make for an excellent day out.
Dinosaur attraction, Shire horses and various animals are also a part of the Cave complex. This is not visible from the caravan park which is in lovely natural surroundings. If you are walker, then you are in the right place. We had 9 days of glorious sunshine only raining the day before we came home and early on the day of leaving. If we are that way again would certainly use.
The price is right as well although there were indications that it may go up slightly next year. If its peace and quiet you want and beautiful countryside. This is the place to be. Jean/John older caravanners.

I am a member of the Weekend Wanderers and we stay at Dan Yr Ogof Caravan site at least twice a year. What a lovely site to stay. The staff are really helpful and polite.
The toilet and shower block is always spotless and heated, there is always running hot water. There is never overfull bins and the litter is picked up at least twice a day around the site. Ashford is a particularly nice, chatty person and very hard working and always has the best interests of the people staying on his site at heart.
The pitches are all hard standing, although there is plenty of grass for campers. The caves are great and a wonderful attraction. There are also great walks to be found around and about this location.

What a fantastic site! We have just returned from a week here and can honestly say it is one of the best sites we have stayed on. All the hardstanding pitches have electricity, water and waste water pipes directly to them.
The pitches were level and drained brilliantly (yes it's Wales and we did have some heavy rain). Be aware that you will need rock pegs if you are intending to pitch an awning as the ground is hard. The shower block is a bit tired (a luxury block is under construction - anticipated 2015) but the water pressure was great even when all the showers were in use and the water was hot.
All this for only £15. 00 per night! The way the site has been laid out is fantastic as there are lots of little private nooks and crannies to pitch in along with some more open 'communal' areas. We pitched alongside the river which runs to the side of the site and had great fun watching it rise and fall with the rainfall (this side of the site might not be best if you have small children). We loved the fact that you could just bowl up, find a spot which was free and set up.
The warden would then catch up with you with you at some point in the morning or evening to take your pitch fees. Such a laid back approach made the site feel really relaxing from the very outset. During our stay the site was immaculate and there was always someone strimming or blowing the pathways clear.
As previous reviewers have commented - don't be put off by the fact that the site is connected to the Showcaves if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Yes, they are only a five minute walk away, but the campsite is completely separate and it doesn't feel like you are right on top of a major tourist attraction.
The Gwyn Arms pub is only a 10 minute walk away and does good honest pub food. They do stop serving around 8. 30 pm and can get busy at times so it might be worth popping in or phoning to book a table if you want to eat over the weekend. You can walk out onto the hills directly from the campsite in any direction and there are some really varied walks to be had from wooded valleys with waterfalls to moorland on top of the hills.
We didn't find the Wellington Bomber crash site but that will be for next time. Yes the site doesn't have a shop which is probably more of a pain for those who are walking onto the site but we didn't find it a problem. In terms of location, facilities and price - it will be a site that will be hard to beat.

What a lovely, well planned and natural looking landscaped camp site. It was beautifully laid out and even if full, gave plenty of privacy. Plenty of hard standing and very, very reasonable at only £15 for the two of us, with electric and free showers. In August, WOW. There were adult only areas and plenty of water taps.
The visitor attraction was not visible nor within hearing distance. I would recommend this site to anyone but particularly if you have children who would have a whole days entertainment at the caves and dinosaurs (not inc in site fee).
My son camped alongside with his 2 children in a tent. The only thing missing was a children's play area but there was facilities in the visitor attraction.
I felt the two main club sites could learn a lesson from this attractive and well run site at such reasonable prices in the main season.
A new amenity block is planned for 2015 but the present ones are perfectly adequate.

I was a bit sceptical about using a site within a bigger attraction but I need not have feared. It set well aside from the Caves and other attractions. Their are numerous small fields dotted amongst the trees, and are mostly flat.
The facilities are great. Free showers in a well maintained block, plus a drying room for wet clothes (be warned this valley is wet).
The price of £7 ppn is value for money.
There is a pub close by, about a 20 min walk. The campsite and pub would do well to create a shortcut through the field to the road to make it a 5 minute walk.
There is no shop so bring what you need, there is a Spar in Pen y Cae about 2 miles south.
You can walk directly from the site onto the Black Mountain or other smaller hills and there is a bus service up and down the valley.
