We have been to this site 6 times now, what a little gem, The owners and their children are always welcoming.

The site itself is lovely and only £18 a night with electric, The pitches are level with electric hook-up and water tap for each pitch too.

The toilets / showers are spotless, always clean and not a bit of mess is every found in them, nice touch is the blue (pink in the ladies) j-cloth next to each basin to encourage users to clean up after them, Showers always warm as well.

The children's play area is good for small children and the games room has a few slot machines and a pool table for the older kids.

Tesco is only a 10 minute drive away and so is Felixstowe too. If you want a lovely meal go to Maybush inn on the river at Waldingfield, very nice.

Overall lovely site and location, will be back again next year.

After touring for a couple of years, we decided to get a seasonal pitch and after looking at a few other sites, have now been at Westwood for over a year and couldn’t have made a better choice.

Robert and Caroline who own the Park (with their family) are extremely pleasant and helpful.

All pitches are a good size with electric and water available and all the seasonal pitches are hard standing, with water, electric and waste water drainage.

There is a small shop on site, for those ‘little essentials’ and the Facilities Block is the best we have seen and kept extremely clean and tidy. There is also a games room with a pool table and a few slot machines and a designated children’s play area in the corner of the park.

The park is set in the countryside, which we love (waking up to the bird song!), also to be near the coast and river is just great. Loads of places to visit including Woodbridge and Waldringfield which are only a short distance away and then the coast at Felixstowe and Town of Ipswich, which are both about 15 minutes drive.

No shortage of shops nearby including Tesco and Next, also a retail park not too far away with Sainsburys, B&Q, Homebase etc. If you like coarse fishing, there is a beautiful lake for day fishing, just a couple of miles down the road.

We cannot recommend Westwood Caravan Park enough, whether you have a caravan or tent or thinking of a seasonal pitch.

Having just bought a caravan and being newbies, we wanted to try it out at somewhere not too far from home. We decided on 2 nights at Westwood as it's only 30 miles up the road from us and we're so glad we did.

On arrival, the owners were very nice, explained everything we needed to know and directed us to our pitch. We had one of the few pitches that are not hard standing but that didn't matter one bit as the weather was scorching so soggy grass wasn't going to be a problem.

The site itself is very well laid out and considering it was only £18 per night, we weren't expecting much by way of amenities. How wrong could we have been? The shower and toilet block was spotless, roomy, and even specific showers with just warm water suitable for children (very welcome on sunburned shoulders).

The pitches are very spacious and level with electric hook-up and water stand pipe for each unit.

The children's play area and ball game area is great and safe and there is a small family games room with just a few slot machines and a pool table. Thankfully there is no clubhouse with music blasting till the small hours as even though we're quite young, we wanted a relaxing break, not a pitch outside a nightclub.

As for local facilities, Tesco, Sainsburys, and all the major diy stores are only a 10 minute drive if that. Felixtowe is about 10 minutes down the road and we had a lovely day at the beach and some nice restaurants are to be found there.

In all, we will definitely be going back to Westwood and would recommend to anyone, newbies or experienced caravanners alike.

Lovely site, even though the weather was terrible and had to leave a day earlier as we thought we were going to blow away,

toilets nice and clean

good play area, although somewhat spoilt by some older children jumping on the roof's of the playhouses whilst my daughter was trying to play inside.

That said, will def return. Felixstowe was only about 10-15 minutes away so had a couple of days there and enjoyed the amusements.

Lots of caravans based there throughout the season, but very well kept.

We stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend. A lovely site.

Toilets and showers excellent. Pitch had it own water tap.

Play area good with climbing frame/slide and swings. A good touch was the little play houses for the younger ones. Ball area good. They also have a games room which has some fruit machines and a pool table in. Our son tried pool for the first time and with my help he beat his dad.

Owners area really nice and friendly. Their reception/ shop stock a good selection of bits and bobs that you might need or have forgotten. I liked the boys and girls lucky dip, which once again was a nice touch.

The road noise did not bother us, but if you are in a tent it might.

This is a site that we will go back to again. I have recommeded this site to a few friends already.

We stayed over the Easter holiday weekend. The site was easy to find. I had my wife, two teenage daughters and my large dog.

The pitches were large, well marked out, fully serviced and the owner suggested we went nose in to set the door/awning south facing for the sun. He also offered to help push the van in. There is a security barrier on the gate which you pay a £5 deposit for the card refunded on leaving.

There was a kids play area that looked very good for under 10s. The showers and toilets were always clean and we never had to wait. They had a Portable cabin with some games machines and a Pool table which I used.

The Site lacks a dog exercise field, however there was a massive field opposite the site which we could walk round and the dog could run on.

The Owners clearly enjoy running the site and take a pride in the site. The site was always clean and well managed.

While there we visited Felixstowe which is a nice small sea-side town with a large front to walk down with dogs allowed on the Beach up to the 1st of May. We visited Jimmy's farm (from the TV) this was very good and cost £15 for a family ticket round the animals. There is also Ipswich and quite a lot to do in the surrounding area.

We would visit again.

I stayed for one night on this site whilst visiting a friend in Ipswich which is very close by. The newly completed toilet and shower block were immaculate with plenty of hot water available. The couple who own the site, Carolyn and Robert, are very friendly and helpful and, most importantly, are keen to receive feedback on anything that could be improved. I have to say I struggled to find anything to suggest to them other than perhaps re-siting the barrier card control panel which is on the passenger side as you drive offsite. They are aware of this issue which they inherited when they took over the site but it is really not a big deal. Ipswich Marina is well worth a visit from this site as is Felixstowe which is a lovely seaside town not far away. I have booked a second visit in April when I get back from Holland on the Harwich ferry.

This is the 3rd time we have visited the site this year and have found the same high standards on each visit.

The toilets are very very clean and showers and lovely and hot. I would like to see more speed restrictions reminders on the road such as limit signs and speed bumps as it seems several car drivers forgot about the 5mph limit.

I also have found the 2 Bank Holidays I stayed there were far too many cars on the pitches so maybe a separate car park for overflow need to be looked into along with a bigger play are for kids to play ball games/run off excess energy in.

The only place for kids to run is on the camping site itself which is dangerous. I enjoy this site (despite gripes above) and have recommended it to several of our friends

My wife and I have been to this site six times in the last 15 months. We have moved from the Ipswich area to Yorkshire and it is a convenient site to use as a base for visiting family and friends.

The new owners, who live on site, and are therefore the Wardens are most helpful. They are very hard working in improving the site. There is now a water tap for just about every pitch!

There is a useful laundry room with 2 washing machines and a tumble dryer. We have an end bathroom in our van so are not able to comment on site facilities, but understand them to be of a high quality!

There is a Tesco about 5 minutes away and a Sainsbury's a little further, but on the way in or out of Ipswich.

The Shannon does good meals, especially if yo use the voucher from the site of a 2 main meals for £12.

Very nice site, toilet and shower blocks are 2nd to none. We all enjoyed our stay here that we even stayed an extra night. Our pitch was next to the park so the kids were over they nearly all day and we could see them.

Owners were very nice and my 12 year old son made friends with the owners son and played football with him nearly all weekend.

The site office/shop had the essentials you need whilst you are there, so no need to leave the site unless you want some bigger things. Tesco, Sainsburys and other larger stores are very close by, about a 5 to 10 min drive.

A nice pub near by called The Shannon, although a bit pricey on the food for what you get.

Will definitely be returning to this site, in the very near future, more than once as my father and brother lives only 4 miles away and it will be a nice place to stay whilst visiting them.
