Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend and having visited many sites we found this to be the smallest area to pitch in we have come across, 12 paces across. The site was full and due to the very narrow pitches everything was very tight, we have seen more space on a tent show room floor. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our pitch which the rabbits had attacked and a quick fill in with soil soon sorted it. There is a country road next to the site which was surprisingly noisy and is used as a rat run by local traffic. I would advise tent owners to ask for a pitch on the opposite side of site away from this road or expect an early wake up call.

From the outside the toilet block looks impressive but when inside you realize it is port-a-cabins and they are not equipped to the best of standards campers are used too and are beginning to look shabby. No private sinks or hairdryer, no bench in showers and press in shower only 15 seconds long

Thought the upfront payment of £20 per night for two people with electric was expensive for site facilities and location.

The area is great for walking and we visited HMS Ganges museum which was really interesting. Had a lovely meal at the Butt and Oyster pub and visited the Maybush pub both in great locations on the river.

Loved the area

Could not fault this site, pitch we were allocated easily accommodated our sunncamp shadow 800 tent, no fault to the owners but the ground was rock hard, so always take some strong pegs with you. Toilets/showers were immaculate, the site very very clean. The owners were very friendly people. There are 2 supermarkets nearby and countless pubs, all in all would certainly recommend

Visited end of July and had a brilliant stay. No problem pitching our very large tent. Site is quiet but that's a plus point for us. Facilities were kept spotlessly clean and the whole site is well looked after. The managers Jackie & Steve made us very welcome and they do a great job looking after the place and everyone on site. The local area is very nice and we can't wait to return; definitely to Westwood.

Hi just returned from this site after a long weekends stay.I must say that the site is very well looked after. The toilet/shower block are spotless most probably the cleanest we have used.

The rules for the site seemed to be a little to strict and over the top especially when children are concerned.

As I said the site does not cater for children having only 1 small fenced off football pitch/playing field. This site is definitely for the older generation or if you like the quiet life.

The site is in excellent clean condition

Well what I say . The best campsite we have ever been to . Made us very welcome . Very clean and tidy . And toilets are spotless. You could eat your dinner off them as they say. There are wheelie bins near by, so you don't have to cart the rubbish to massive ones - the manager comes round twice a day to take rubbish away. It rained all one night once and the pitch was well drained. No walking over a water logged pitch.

Kids playing field . We have 3 children . Between 3 4 9 years . They loved it. Thanks to the people who run the site for theie hard work. Booked up again .

Visited on May Bank holiday weekend, friendly welcome - shown to pitch very helpful. Good Points: Manager helpful, lovely showers and loos very clean and hot water plentiful.

Not so good: Play area was lacking - only had a goalpost and dodgy basketball net, pitches felt a bit small but we're new to this so maybe standard?

We will return!

The site is quite small and in a very rural location. The pitches are a reasonable size but very close together and with a car on the pitch too it felt a bit cramped

The toilets and showers are very clean and the water was hot but not too hot, but the water pressure was so low that your shower would go off if someone was using another one at the same time, which was not ideal in the middle of hair washing.

The play area is quite small for the size of the site and does not have swings or slides etc, just goals for football and a basketball net. This did not seem to bother the children who made their own entertainment. We also discovered near the end of the trip that the fences were not secure and the kids could escape into the next field!

This is a really peaceful site where the 10pm curfew for quiet time was respected and it was ideal for families with young children.

There is a large Tesco at Woodbridge about 10-15 minutes away and another on the A12/A14 roundabout so shopping is not a problem. The shop on site is not well stocked and has only the very basics.

This was our first time camping and we had a wonderful time

We have just returned from a four night stay at this campsite. We have a large (8 Man) tent and the pitch we were allocated easily accommodated the tent and two cars.

The whole camp site is kept spotless. The toilets/shower block were never dirty and were regularly cleaned. It is quite a new campsite and is well laid out.

The two managers were always visible onsite maintaining the grounds during the day(grass cutting, bin emptying, weeding, etc).

We were surprised as there appeared to be no dogs onsite for the first two nights of our stay, the other two nights there was but both groups managed to keep the dogs quiet.

There was a mixture of hot, wet and windy weather during our stay but the pitch stayed relatively dry and didn't get muddy.

There is a fenced off grass area for children to play ball games.

We enjoyed a meal at The Shannon restaurant/pub in Bucklesham, a 10-15min walk from the campsite. All the food is freshly prepared and the staff are very friendly.

The showers were always hot, although they are push button ones with a set thermostat. We felt the temperature could sometimes be a little hot for children.

We would definitely recommend the campsite to anyone and would hope to return there in the near future ourselves.

In some ways we are reluctant to leave a review as this is a gem of a site and would like to keep it to ourselves.

On arrival to scorching HOT weather we where meet by Brian the site owner, Jackie and Steve the site managers and were checked in.The gate is operated via a key card which requires a £5 refundable deposit on arrival.

Brian and Steve then showed us to our pitch which I must say were huge in comparison to others we have visited, even the caravan and camping club wouldn't be able to find fault on these sizes.

The site has 100 pitches but they do have about 40ish seasonal which are situated on the 1st half on the site, the toilet/shower and laundry block is in the centre of site and is by far the cleanest we have seen, it was cleaned regularly and whatever time of the day they were always spotless. The showers were free and always hot.

There is a gravel drive around the site and a one way system which does have a 5mph speed limit as there are always a lot of kids, there were a few that couldn't read and were reminded by the site, and these drivers had kids themselves and would have been the first to complain if there's where knocked down im sure.

The water taps on site came out very fast and only took about 1min to fill a 50 litre water container which has to be a record. The waste water had to be tipped away down the drain next to the water and there are plenty of them around the site.

The site was very clean and tidy ie. No rubbish as there where loads of bins near to the pitches and a large bin area opposite the toilet block.

There is no play ground on the site but there is a large grass area fenced off at the top of the site for ball games which has goal nets and a basket ball post.

There is a dog walk around the site perimeter and dogs must be keep on leads at all times when outside. Also dog owners did an excellent job on cleaning up after there animals.

Steve was always emptying bins and the grass was cut every day whilst we where there.

There is a Morrisons and Tesco a short drive away and reception sells bread milk and others basics.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definate be returning and recommending the site to our friends, The site owners and Management were very helpful and friendly!

Felixstow is only 7 miles away and for a weeks holiday we never spent a penny on parking as there are loads of free parking spots around the town if you are prepared to walk 20 yrds to the beach from your car, excellent.

The toilet block is one of the best ive seen and will win the 'best toilets of the year award' real soon im sure. There are 5 urinals,4toilets about 6 sinks and 4 showers in the mens and laundry room splits the gents from the ladies as to them never went in.Lol

The only fault that I could find with this site was the elsan point even though it is very clean area I think it could do with some panels around it to prevent kids playing in it which they where doing and to finish the toilet block area off to a 100% finish even though its at a 99% stage now.

I even had a shower with the site owners wife Louie cleaning down as we where off out for tea at the local pub(2 we visited and they where brill)and she hadn't finished, not many site owners will pitch in.

Brian, louie, jackie & steve you have a brilliant site may you continue AAA+++++ will recommend your site to ALL our friends.

We visited this site (my husband, four-year-old daughter and I) for the first time, for two nights of the last May Bank Holiday weekend.

On arrival we were a bit concerned as the owner immediately came over and said we could not come onto the site as they didn't take commercial vans (ours is a 55-reg Transporter that we have converted into a camper inside and is not used for commercial use), so we were a bit thrown by this. Once we had explained this he let us on. (We had checked they took campervans when we booked as well!)

The site was fairly quiet (though there is a road that runs along one side). Luckily we were over the other side of the site but this did mean a problem - it was exposed as there was no hedging to keep the winds down and it was horrendous weather with gales and non-stop torrential rain.

The site is quite new and the toilet/shower blocks were clean and quite modern. It was a shame they did not have electric sockets for hairdryers (luckily we had one in the van!) and I also did not like the showers as you had to keep pushing the button and you could not regulate the temperature

The site was not within walking distance of a pub and there was no children's play area or anything like that. Not really much to do for young kids apart from a field where they can play ball games (which are not allowed on the main site).

As I said it was quiet and okay for a couple of nights but would have preferred more shelter given that the weather was so bad.
