Stayed at this site for two nights as we were going further into Yorkshire. The owner of the site was really friendly on our arrival and told us to site our van where we wanted. He even came to see if we were ok and when we asked him where we could pick up newspapers the following morning offered to get these for us.
Plenty of room and for a change a proper walk for the dog instead of something the size of a backyard. The toilets were spotless at all times and found it to be a very relaxed site.
As we were only there for two nights we only visited Malton which was a very nice village.

Excellent site, the owner is top of our list for site owners, he is extremely helpful. Best facilities in over 6 years of camping, even 18 hours of rain and toilet block spotless.
Very large pitches, great dog walk, quiet site but enough to keep the children happy.
Excellent drainage when it does rain heavily, first time we have not been flooded in such a downpour. I have recommended this site to the Trigano users - this is a first.
A site we will return to, thanks for an enjoyable Bank Hol.

We have just returned from a 5 night break at Foxhill, we were on a hard standing pitch with EHU. It is a lovely site and absolutely ideal for a city break to York. The site itself is well kept, it isn't a site with lots of facilities but it has all you need for a relaxing break. Toilet block was immaculate, lovely hot showers any time of day and always very clean. Reception sells a few emergency provisions milk etc but as your only 10 minutes drive from a huge Sainsburys and Asda this is fine.
As I mentioned it is 10 minutes to the shops and also next to them is the park and ride into york which is great and saves you having to pay expensive parking in York. Also 5 minutes drive from the site is Thompsons Fish and Chip Restaurant which was excellent and definitely worth a visit. We also went to Scarborough for the afternoon as its only a 45 minute drive away.
Will definitely use this site again when visiting North Yorkshire, lovely site, friendly helpful owners and in a great location for visiting York and the North Yorkshire Coast. Highly Recommended.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at this site. The facilities are very clean and pitches generous. It is one of the quietest sites we have ever been to.
It was a full family outing with four tents and a caravan. All other campers were very respectful of the quiet times and we would definitely go again.
Access to York via A64 and Ring Road is very easy. Monks Cross shopping Centre is 10 minutes away with cheap park and ride and it also has a large ASDA Superstore and Sainsburys for provisions.

We have just got back from Foxhill after spending 4 days there. We were a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 children. We were greeted by the owner who was more than helpful, he showed us to our pitches and let us put our caravans awning to awning to the kids could play.
We arrived just after 6 and he told us where to go for something to eat. The next day my sisters water pump broke and he gave us directions of the nearest caravan place, we got one and fixed it.
The shop is good and sells the basics, my eldedst son was able to use the internet for a small fee too (which made his weekend). The site is lovley and quiet with plenty of space for the kids to play.
There is a small play park (swings and a bridge with a field to play football/cricket) this was adequate for our kids, they didn't complain anyway! the toilet block and showers were immaculate (water a bit hot in showers for the little ones).
There is ample space in the entrance for coming in with tourers. The site is not far from York which is were we sent most of our time visiting the Viking museum a the railway museum and only half an hour drive from dalby forest where we did some lovely walks.
I would recommend this site to anyone, it is fantastic and very reasonable priced, I will be spending many more holidays here with the family. Just perfect !

Visited this campsite Easter 2011, with my boys, the owners are very friendly, thankfully there was plenty of room for me to attempt to reverse my caravan, thanks to the owner we managed to make it look reasonably presentable, this was the first time in the caravan.
The toilet block is beautiful, always spotlessly clean, great to have a family room, so I was able to supervise my boys. We had hook up which was great very close to the pitch, the boys enjoyed the playground but I didn't see it myself. Water was easily accessible as was the waste water drain and the chemical loo disposal, which did smell a bit at times.
We had a great time exploring York in the gorgeous sun, it was very easy to get to the park and ride.
We also met up with family at Hornsea beach which was fun for the boys, but beware of the weaver fish, which can be very painful if trodden on, wear beach pumps.
We had such a great time we returned to finish off exploring York and to walk around Stamford Bridge and Castle Howard in the Summer half term.
Again we were made very welcome.
Liked it so much we are returning this summer half term, there's still so much to do in the area and why try to find another campsite when you have found such a great one.

First visit to this site but probably not our last.
The site is within ten minutes of the park n ride facilities and also some of the major retailers.
The site itself lies just off the main road to Scarborough from York but you certainly wouldn't know it.
Easily accessed (take note of directions on their website) the site has a large reception area for tourers so no hassles getting in and out, a new reception block which also houses the showers and toilets and a security gate.
Showers/toilets absolutely immaculate always!
There is a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches on a small hill (so levelling stuff might be needed) and it can get a little breezy up on the top.
There is a small play area but its pretty basic. Most of the time the kids were able to play with their toys, scooters etc around the caravan due to the HUGE pitches and the masses of space on the site. Excellent for young kids!
The owners were lovely and friendly.
The site was very quiet when we were there, mostly seasonally tourers so it was absolutely silent after 10pm.
York itself was lovely, lots to do and see for adults and kids. Scarborough worth a visit if the weather is nice and your kids want a beach to play on.
Overall brilliant site, lovely people running it, spotlessly clean, excellent value for money and a great base to explorer York and the surrounding area.

This was a lovely site with beautifully clean facilities. Lovely hot water for washing up & showers. The shop had plenty of bits & bobs if you have forgotten anything.
The owner was very helpful and always willing to chat & give advice.
We particularly were impressed with how spacious the plots were, with a picnic bench near to each & plenty of space for playing cricket etc nearby.
You do need transport to get anywhere as it is in the middle of nowhere really, but bikes will do since it is flat around the area.
Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby: we spent lots of time in York itself - parking in Sainsbury's car park is the cheapest near the centre!

WOW.Where do I begin, there are not many things in life that me me sit up and write about so here I go:
Access to the site is so easy where there is a huge car park.
The owners are very nice people who are head 'n' heels above most site owners I've come across.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Drawing on their local knowledge we asked for a good place to eat.It was.Blacksmith Arms and is situated 10 mins away in car, he even made the reservation!
Hard standing or grass the choice is yours subject to availability of course.
Pre-order your newspaper.
As others have stated the pitches are of a generous size.
I could go on, no doubt you've read other comments, now try it yourself, or better still don't then there will be more of a chance for our future trips to Foxhill.

The owner was very friendly and went to the site to meet us there. At £24 for the two nights (no EHU), this is good value for money (in our opinion anyway!).
First impressions:
Lovely area.
Nice big pitches.
Helpful owners.
Clean Toilets.
Good pot washing facilities.
The ground was a little hard in places so a couple of our pegs bent but it wasn't actually a problem, just something to be aware of.
It's within good driving distance of many attractions. We went to the York Cold War Bunker, Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Castle on Saturday and then Eden Camp on the Sunday before heading home. There are many more attractions within an easy drive.
On Saturday, my boyfriend got bored during the evening because he didn't want to drive anywhere after going from place to place earlier in the day (the perils of only one person being a driver) and because we didn't know if there was anything in walking distance. Then again, he does have the attention span of a gnat.
However, if I did my research a bit better and knew where we could easily walk to (or I pass my driving test), I wouldn't hesitate in coming back to this site. It's just a shame there wasn't a pub or restaurant within obvious sight for those, like me, who didn't do their research properly!
