Stayed here for four nights in July.
First impressions of the site were it was very tidy and that the amenity block looked new and clean! Received a very warm welcome from the owners. It was my son's birthday while we were there and they were happy to store his cake in the fridge in the reception for us.
The amenity block was impressive. The toilets were always clean and showers hot. It was fairly busy over the weekend we were there but never experienced any wait for the showers/toilets. We were particularly impressed with the family room with the toilet, baby changing table, baby bath and showers at two different heights, perfect for my 5 year old.
The reception was also a shop which stocked bits and bobs that you might have forgotten. Very reasonably priced. The washing up sink was always clean and at a good height!
The pitches themselves were lovely and spacious. The pitches aren't marked out so you have a bit of flexibility where to pitch. We had electric and is unusual to have so much choice about pitching position. One thing, we were glad we had bought rock pegs before we went, the ground is quite hard in places and sometimes difficult to get pegs in. However, we were the only ones in a party of three tents that did have rock pegs and they managed to get normal pegs in the ground, just took a bit more work!
The owners couldn't do enough to help, showing genuine concern when my son had an accident and pointing us in the direction of the local medical centre and also the local chemist when he had an allergic reaction. They were always around with a smile and friendly face.
All in all, a lovely site, and will definitely be returning.

Nice and simple place. Somewhat hard to find, as the SatNav takes you to a nearby farm, but nice driving distance to York.
Facilities:
Showers / toilets, nice and clean (but it wasn't many people there at that time). More than enough water in the showers, but you had to push the button again and again, and the water was very hot (and not adjustable).
Dogwalk. Still have to keep the dog on the leash, but very nice. Lots of rabbits.
Shop, small selection of sweets and snacks. I assume the wardens are more present during high season than when we were there.
Playground (didn't use it, as we don't have children).
The ground was very hard, and we really struggled to get the metal(!) pegs in the ground.
Very nice and helpful family running the place.

We visited Foxhill park for 3 nights over May Bank Holiday. To add to other reviews this site is fantastic and is the best we have visited. The couple who run this park are very friendly and work very hard in keeping up the parks high standards. I saw the gentleman one evening at 11pm cleaning the toilets. Their site really is a credit to them.
We were in a tent without EHU and we pitched at the entrance to the site near to the facilities. As per a previous posting there was strong winds on the Sunday and our tent also bore the brunt of them and we suffered a broken pole and a ripped guy line on our canopy.
As we were pitched towards the entrance I didn't think we had anymore shelter than the people pitched towards the end of the site. I just think we were unlucky with the strong winds. The next morning was calm again and blue skies.
The toilet block was excellent with 3 showers in. There are also hairdryers which take 20p. There is also a family room at the side of the block with a baby changing unit and a baby bath in. The reception doubles as a small shop which is handy and you can refreeze your ice blocks in there.
The location of this site is perfect. Just off the A64 but surrounded by countryside. We enjoyed day trips to Scarborough and Waterworld at York which I thought was good value for £14 for a family of 4. Also fantastic play area called Creepy Crawlies which has an indoor and outdoor play area about 15 mins drive away.
There are several pubs in the area and we visited the fish and chip shop on the A64. Very nice. We also visited the Tanglewood one evening for a drink with our 2 children but it was very posh and we felt out of place in our camping attire ! However the staff did make us feel very welcome.
Overall I found the other campers very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere on the site. The site was nice and quiet around 10.30pm. My 4 year old made lots of friends and it was lovely to see them playing together on such a safe and secure site.
Would we return ? You bet and we are already planning our next trip next month.

This is a new campsite that has been open three years, extremely spacious with plenty of EHU around the site. Although we were allocated an EHU four gang post between ourselves and and two other friend's tents, there was flexibility as to where we pitched.
Even though this was Springbank bank holiday weekend, it wasn't overcrowded and still maintained a feeling of spaciousness.
The owners are a real credit to their site and are very friendly and helpful. The toilets / showerblock were very clean, with pushbutton free showers. There was also a disabled toilet / shower / babychange room, as well as laundry and pot wash with drainers and cloths provided.
There is a dog walk around the site and wooden kids play area. The site is well drained and there are lots of saplings planted around the site, which will eventually provide shelter and character to the site.
Unfortunately on the Sunday, there were strong winds and a friends tent bore the brunt of it, as we were positioned at the top of the site there was little shelter, which the caravans lower in the field and nearer to the reception were more sheltered. However unfortunately it seems common on most sites that caravans are positioned in the most sheltered spots and nearest the amenities, despite this we would recommend this site for exploring York, Castle Howard and the surrounding Ryedale area.

We visited this site for the fifth time recently intending to stay for one week, which turned into three as the peace and quiet, as well the relaxed nature of the site and owners meant we could not be bothered to move on.
Large pitches and immaculate toilet block makes it great for us oldies. The playground and space mean families can enjoy it too.
The A64 is audible, just, in the distance but you are only 20 minutes from York and 45 minutes to the East Coast resorts.
Great meals at the Blacksmiths in Flaxton (10 minutes by car )

This is a little Gem of a site. The owners are friendly and helpful and the facilities are clean with nice hot showers. It wasn't over crowded which was great for a bank holiday weekend and is an excellent location for all York attractions.
There was a little playground and football area completely separate from the main camping field which our little one loved.
We have booked to go back for spring bank holiday!

Visited foxhill for the easter weekend. We arrived late but that was not a problem as we rang the owner and he was with us in a matter of minutes. We had a very warm welcome even though it was pouring with rain! We were shown to our pitch, which was all gravel and very, very spacious!
The toilet and shower block were beautiful, clean and very warm! We had booked to have the awning but when we arrived the weather was too bad and said we could decide in the morning, in the end we decided against it and we weren't charged, which most sites would have done!
The site itself was beautifully kept and well drained. Each pitch had loads of space and they could easily have fitted double the amount of caravans on, but the owner never allows the site to become overcrowded.
The site was ideal for visiting york, the park and ride was just 6 miles away and there were two pubs and a fish and chip shop just down the road.We will definitely be going to foxhill again, we cant wait until we can return, many thanks to the owners for keeping a lovely site. The site fees were very, very reasonable! £17 per night on a bank holiday weekend. Brilliant!

Arrived on Easter Saturday - family of four and one dog. The owner was really helpful as our electric hook up wasn't long enough he kindly lent us one. The site was lovely and clean and the kids enjoyed playing on the swings. We had lots of room and the toilet facilities were clean with plenty of hot water.
We visited the Yorkshire Farming Museum which was really good value £15 for a family ticket and spent most of the day there. We also had a lovely day in Whitby and we can definitely recommend Eden Camp which if you get vouchers from the Yorkshire Moors and Coast leaflet from the Tourist Information - kids can get in for free!
Whilst we were off site our tent nearly took off due to the high winds. Thanks to a kindly camper and the owner who again came to the rescue the tent was repegged and a pole which had snapped was roped up.
Really enjoyed our stay will be going back.
