Our first time with our caravan and we chose an excellent site here! So easy to access, lovely and peaceful. It snowed on our first morning, very picturesque! Kathy and Carl are very welcoming and wanted to make sure everyone was happy. The facilities are very clean and new. It is easy to get to the park and ride for york. For eating, there is the Blacksmiths arms at Flaxton [very busy saturday night so need to book] Also we noticed there is a Toby carvery near Monks Cross.

Just come back from a fantastic weekend at Foxhill caravan park. Had a most relaxing time, the park is nice a flat ideal for caravans and tents. Toilets are the best I have ever seen and the showers (free) are spotless. Plenty of space between each unit for car and caravan. The owners (Kath and Carl) are really nice people. The park and ride into York is 5 minutes drive from the site. The kids had a great time. I could go on and on but I cant find any words good enough to describe this site. Fantastic, brilliant, excellent And yes we will definitely be going back again and again.

We have just come back from staying two lovely nights at this wonderful site. We have been to a good few camping sites over the years and this was by far the best. It is a fairly new site, therefore the toilet and shower block are all brilliantly clean and wonderfully equipped. The showers are clean and hot, and most importantly FREE! There are three toilets in the ladies block and you have to aquire a code when you first check in to get in to the toilets so that only people staying on the site can use them. The site also had a baby changing and disabled facility which we found particularly helpful as we went with a 9month old and a two year old. Ive never been to another site which has a baby change. There was a laundry room and a washing site, and also a small shop that stocked basics such as milk, meat, washing up liquid and other basics.
The owners were lovely and extremely helpful. There is a cold water tap on site and a place to take your rubbish, which is emptied and cleared regularly. The site isnt huge but the owners have taken care not to ram the site full of as many tents as they can, and there was a lovely gap between us and the other tents around. The site is very child friendly and animals are welcome, as long as they are kept on leads, which is a good idea when there are children around. There isnt much to do in the village of Claxton but York is only a short drive away, and Scarbourough a little further down the A64. All in all its a wonderful site and we will definitley be visiting again.

This was our first visit to Foxhill, August bank holiday weekend and will certainly not be our last. Carl & Kath, the owners, are very friendly and extremely helpful. We had problems with OUR hook up, Carl sorted it out. We asked if they had anything we could stand a disposable bbq on, Carl dropped off a breeze block at our tent, along with our 'evenings refreshments' which he had chilled off for us in the fridge. The site itself is fairly level but the ground is a bit stoney, we bent a few pegs. There is ample space for kids to play ball games, fly kites etc.
The toilet facilities are excellent and kept immaculately clean and the showers are free. There is a small shop on site and unlike a lot of campsite shops, you are not ripped off on price. There is a small Co op at Stamford Bridge and a few pubs along with an excellent chip shop (Thompsons).
York is not far away, nor are the East Coast seaside resorts, also close by are Monks Cross (supermarkets & high street shops) and the Designer Outlet, also within a short drive are some lovely 'picture postcard' type villages.
To round off, this is a very, very good site and we are really looking forward to our next visit.

We (2 parents and a 6 year old child) visited Foxhill Park during the beginning of August, and were immediately greeted by the friendly and very helpful owners. We found the site well signposted, and it was very clean and well taken care of. We had a huge area to choose where to pitch our tent. After we did that we were kindly given a picnic table for our own use. This is just one example of the kind of care we received from the staff. They were also very helpful with giving advice for local attractions. We particularly enjoyed Castle Howard (with its beautiful house and extensive grounds), as well as Flamingo Land, York Maze. Stamford Bridge was close by, where we could find shops which were open all day and weekends, very useful indeed.
We could go on, but the point here is simple: We wholeheartedly recommend 'Foxhill Park' , and would definitely visit them again, should we be in Yorkshire again.

Just spent 1 night at this lovely site. It seems quite new and there are lots of trees planted. The site is pretty level and the grass was great for tents, not much of a problem getting the pegs in at all. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There's a small shop with a few basics. The toilets were the cleanest campsite toilets we've ever seen!We were particularly pleased that the showers were free and hot, might be a little too hot for small children. There were also dish washing facilities and a small laundry. Dogs were welcome and there was a dog walking area but it wasn't enclosed. It's a shame that there was no pub in the local village, the nearest was a mile or two away. Notice board has basic information including a pizza delivery service in case your BBQ gets rained out! :-) The campsite was really quiet and the only noise was a little road noise and the loud dawn chorus of birds. Picnic tables were also available for campers or caravaners. A park and ride was only a few minutes drive away to get into York or you could catch a bus from the nearby village.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at foxhill park ,what a pleasure. This is a new site and the facilities are of a very high standard, nice clean toilets and showers(free),a small shop selling essential supplies and even morning papers by prior arrangement. The owners(kath and Carl) are very friendly and helpful. If you want a nice peaceful site that is handy for visiting York, the east coast or the north york moors this one is well worth a visit. This is a site we will definitely be revisiting.
