We moved here as we were dissatisfied with our previous campsite. We arrived at about 6pm and the owner promptly drove round to greet us. We had trouble setting up our tent due to windy conditions and the owner had no problem in helping us choose a suitable spot which even led to him carrying our half erected tent around the site.Much to the amusement of other guests. He was a very nice man and gave the impression he would do anything to make our stay comfortable.
Fortunately the wind instantly stopped once the tent was erected!
The toilets were brilliant! very clean and modern and large showers with plenty of room for hanging up clothes.

First I would like to pick up on something Jules said about privacy. I can't for the life of me understand how anyone would go to a popular campsite for privacy! I think this statement is a bit of an oxymoron. My wife and I only stayed the one night and were made to feel very welcome
Anyway I have only one thing to say about Foxhills. Brilliant!

We were looking for a site near York & picked this site based on the feedback received from this web site.
What a find. This is a very quite, small, friendly site.
Owner is great and very helpful.
Loads of space on pitch (in the 6 years we have been camping these were the biggest pitches we have ever seen !)
We were touring and stayed at 5 sites in August and everyone in our party agreed that this was the best site of all.
Recommend a meal at nearby Thompsons fish and chip restaurant.
York is an awesome historical city.
Will definitely be back.

This was our first time camping trip so we really didn't know what to expect but hit it lucky with this little gem. The owners were friendly and helpful, we had a choice of pitches (with EHU) and loads of room. The facilities were immaculate with (free)heated shower block. A couple of sinks around the back with plenty of hot water (and a resident House Martin !)There is a small children's park in the adjacent field and basic provisions sold in the office.
Close to York with it's many attractions - there was even a camping event/sale close by the weekend we were there.
Would definitely use this Site again.

This is a lovely site. Well kept and the facilities were faultless, very clean and very well kept. We had an issue on the day of arrival which was sorted swiftly and did not affect our time away at all.
The owners are lovely people and so friendly. With York just up the road there is so much to do. If you go a little further then Whitby makes a wonderful day out.
This was the first time we had taken the children camping (aged 8yrs and 20months) and they did brilliantly. The site was secure and friendly enough that the eldest could have a bit of freedom.
Would recommend this site very highly. We are looking to go back next year!

We stayed here for just one night and parked up between people who weren't there, which was really lucky as the site is very open with no trees/bushes to break it up, so there is no sense of privacy. As it was, parked between these two empty vans, we had very quiet and peaceful spot, opening out to the edge of the site (where new trees have been planted) and watching the butterflies.
The site is new and the toilets & showers were really nice and clean, the only problem is that the pressure is a bit dodgy in the shower when the others are in use and there was bit of a queue.
All plots seem to have access to electric hook up which was a nice touch.
The grass is very nice, good for lolling on!
The owners were very helpful and even got us a newspaper on Sunday morning, which was great.
Overall, nicely maintained site, very helpful owners, but with no sense privacy but a big sense of space.

We stayed for one night at Foxhill Park and were impressed from the offset. We had a warm welcome from the owner, who was very helpful and friendly. The site was easy to find, although our Satnav tried to take us a different way to the directions we were given by the owners, so we ignored it and found that the route we were advised to take was much quicker.
The plot we were given was in a quiet corner, looking out onto fields, with a patch of Christmas trees behind. The rest of the site was fairly flat, open and easy to navigate.
The facilities were good, with decent showers and toilets, recycling bins, veg preparation and washing sinks, laundry and electric hookups for those that wish to use them.
We managed to take a bus into York, though we had to walk on a footpath along a very busy road in order to do so. Once we managed to get the bus it was a fast and straightforward journey into the town. It is also not too far from the Monk's Cross Park and Ride if you prefer to drive in, as almost everyone I have spoken to has bemoaned the state of parking in York. York also seems to offer a very good cycle network.
The shop had a few essentials in, such as drinks and milk, but we had everything we need.
Overall, this was an excellent, well-appointed campsite, the only downside being some noise from the nearby A64, though this does provide excellent access to nearby Malton and Scarborough, and didn't spoil our enjoyment at all.

Fantastic site, the owners were amazingly helpful and friendly. The facilities were immaculate - clean, plenty of free hot water for everyone, and a family/disabled room with a baby bath and changing facilities. Separate washing up and veg prep sinks as well.
The play park has swings, a troll-bridge (which both our kids, 3 and 1, loved), goalposts, and an enormous field with soft clover to fall over in and watch the clouds go by.
The shop sells useful bits and bobs like toothbrushes, washing up liquid, and kitchen roll, etc, as well as milk, eggs, and bacon. They also have the most fantastic locally sourced BBQ packs in the freezer - we had the best tasting BBQ ever - thoroughly recommended. They also have chocolate and ice creams :-)
The chippy is awesome, in the best possible way, and has a restaurant area too. There are two pubs and a curry house, none of which we managed to try. All less than 5 mins drive away.
About a mile away there's a Camping and Caravanning shop which has everything! There's a shopping centre at Monks Cross which has a supermarket, a Blacks, and lots of clothes shops.
Castle Howard and York with all the attendant attractions are both easily accessible.
The site is about 3 years old - (they have spent a fortune on sapling trees) and beautifully laid out - we're looking forward to going back over the years to see it developing. This will diminish the slight road noise you get - which is the only minor downside. My husband didn't notice and slept fine without ear plugs.
Overall brilliant.

This is a great site: spacious pitches, well-stocked shop, clean & warm toilet / shower block. The site was busy when we visited but not overcrowded due to the generous pitches and the owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us.
The site is easy to find (just off the A64) and is conveniently located for York (Monk's Cross park & ride), which was handy for us as we were meeting friends in the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return!

Just had an over night stay at foxhill, what a gem. As previously mentioned, the toilets, showers etc, are immaculate with constant free hot water. Owners couldn't have been nicer.
There is not a pub within easy walking distance which may be a problem for some.
There is a dog walk with bins provided for owners, and a small playground for young children behind the trees, far enough away so as not to bother people without children.
They seem to have thought very carefully when creating this park.
The site is quite level which makes for easy pitching and when the young trees surrounding the site have a few years growth, the site will be fantastic.
Can highly recommend to anybody, we shall certainly be returning.
