After reading all the great reviews, thought got to be worth a try. Yes its a nice enough little site but I do struggle to see why a lot of the ratings are so high. Welcome pleasant enough, shown pitch in the office from a map, no choice given. Once pitched no one called round to see if everything was ok. This was the third site of a two week holiday and afraid the other two sites made this one bottom of the list. The internet only works around the toilet block, I didn't want the internet, but I did want the toilet which I found strange to use while 3 or 4 people are stood around inside.

Fantastic site, peaceful and quiet. Spent 15 nights here and enjoyed every minute. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Their pomme frittes are awesome. A must try.
The pitches are very large and plenty of room even for the largest of tents.
The Vendee is a beautiful place to visit. Make sure you bring your bikes or hire some. There are plenty of cycle routes to follow, most of which are off the main roads. Also nice and flat.
Hoping to return again next year! Thank you.

After having read all the previous excellent reviews I was a little disappointed with our stay here.
Firstly, we were directed to our pitch from the reception area which I thought was a little impersonal, but this may have been because of the molehills and the pile of rotting grass cuttings which were a prominent feature of our pitch and which may well have been the cause of the many insect bites I received.
Secondly, as we were positioned very close to the toilet/shower block, the noise from the clanging doors was a bit of a problem, as was the unpleasant aroma of the septic tank.
These issues aside we did enjoy our stay in this area, in particular cycling along the coast.

Andrew and Jeanette were the perfect hosts, greater us on arrival with a full explanation of how the site is laid out and all the facilities. The pitches are huge and well serviced. We spent 9 nights here before moving on to Brittany, we wish we had stayed here for the whole 3 weeks. Andrew was a star when my car broke down, recommended a local garage and lent me a bike to do the return journey from the garage.
The showers and toilets were always spotless no matter what time of day you used the facilities.
This site is definitely the place I will be spending our 3 weeks in 2015 (providing we can get in)
The beaches at st jean de mont are France's best kept secret. There are various supermarkets within a 10/15 minute drive.
This is definitely the best site, location we have ever used.
For those with children the site is very safe as you can see the whole site from any pitch and all the children usually gathered in one area and played together.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July, the owners were lovely and really helpful.
It was a lovely quiet camp site with clean facilities. The library was great – especially when our 4yr old found a selection of books he didn’t have. Showers are clean and use of the communal fridge and freezer was great especially when it got hot. Although we were told there are small fridges to rent from Andrew.
There’s a family shower as well as single ones to use. We were slightly out of season, but didn’t have to wait to use anything.
When it got hot (40 deg) there was a lovely breeze to cool the tent in the early eve.
It’s a good base for exploring the surrounding area, we would definitely go back.

This is the 5th consecutive year we have stayed at this campsite. We usually stay for 3 weeks.
The owners are excellent hosts. We reiterate all the good things others have said about the site.
We are looking forward to visiting again next year. Thanks to you both. We wish you every success in the future. Keith and Hazel.

There are many reviews already for this campsite, covering everything you could wish to know, so I will keep this one brief; if you're looking for a well kept quiet campsite in this area you won't go far wrong with this one. The only minor downside I can think of is that the campsite is still maturing and some of the boundary trees and bushes are still relatively young, so there isn't an abundance of shade, however this will obviously improve with time. This is a lovely site which we'd recommend to others and definitely use again.

Spent a few days in June 2014 and left our Caravan for storage. Owners are very welcoming and made us feel at home. If you want to visit the Vendee, this site is perfectly placed. This is not your glitzy 5 star site (thank heavens) but has everything you need for a relaxing quieter holiday. We are looking forward to our return in September.

Although the site is quite rural, it's easily found if you follow the owners instructions on their website. Plenty of space to manoeuvre larger units, you're definitely not rubbing elbows with your neighbours. Beautiful Gite on-site if your unit is overcrowded. Nearby attraction are easily found, I suspect though busy crowded places in peak season, but back on the campsite you're well away from it. The owners are keen to communicate with campers, and good advice was given of when and where to go. The evening chorus of mating frogs, crickets, and cuckoo's reminds you that you are in the countryside. Very nice site!

This is a lovely site. Andrew and Janette were friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and well looked after and the pitches are large. The amenities barn is kept clean and has toilets, showers, and good washing facilities. Wi -fi was free and available in this area and in the BBQ area, much to the relief of our son. We found the bread ordering service and the library nice extra touches.
The site is well placed for visits to the coast and the nearby towns are attractive. We would certainly visit again.
