Excellent for those wanting a no frills and quiet campsite. Enormous pitches with plenty of room for kids to play. Toilets and shower block very clean. Owners very welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The fantastic weather and cheap wine made this a very enjoyable holiday.

We visited in August and there was plenty of room on the site. We could choose our own pitch and there was loads of room for the children to play.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. We particularly loved the fact that we could order chips to be freshly made and buy ice-creams on site!
Facilities were good and plentiful and lots of local tourist information.
It is in a rural area and farm animals could be heard at night and a chicken got in our tent one day but this all added to the fun!

Spent 10 days at this site and we had a great stay. The pitches were flat and very large, the toilets and shower block were fine, plenty of hot water and well maintained. The was also a bookshelf full of English books and very useful maps and weather forecasts on the wall.
Janette & Andrew were very helpful and friendly. Really couldn't have asked for more. Thanks.
Lots to do around the area, beaches were great, food was good, supermarkets were close, even the weather was warm (apart from the odd thunderstorm).
I would recommend anyone to stay here and we will return.

We have just returned from a week at this site. The site is lovely, nice area and quite peaceful. The pitches are very big, the toilets/showers are ok.
The area is lovely, supermarket nearby and great beaches. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great whilst we were there but we still managed to get out and about. We took our bikes with us, a nice area for riding.
The owners of the site are both very helpful and friendly. It was nice to be able to order bread and croissants for the next day and Andrew is great at cooking chips should you want them on an evening!
The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and made their own entertainment.
We will definitely visit again one day.

Fantastic place to stay, very peaceful, and situated in the best part of France we have ever been to, lots to see and do in the area. Plenty of supermarkets a short drive from the site and Janette and Andrew were the perfect hosts, very friendly & welcoming they have thought of everything you could need for a holiday. Pitch size was huge, toilets and showers were immaculate, although would maybe be a bit better if you did not have to keep pressing the button for water (although I can understand the reason for this with water being expensive) library was a real bonus, lots of english books that you could exchange, wine, chips & ice cream for sale on site, and Andrew offers to go to the village bakery each day for fresh bread etc (preordered)
Would recommend this campsite to anyone.
It is like a UK certificated site but with the added bonus of wall to wall sunshine! will not hesitate to go there again. Having stayed at various campsites in France over the last 20 plus years you will not find any better than this one. Well done Jeanette & Andrew!

We spent four extremely enjoyable days at Le Fief as our base for following Le Tour and Le Grand Depart from the Vendee. The site was everything we wanted, rural, quiet and not over populated. The facilities were excellent, in fact the best we encountered during our stay in France. Having access to a washing machine and the high quality of the ablution facilities in the barn were terrific.
Local amenities are but a short drive away from this site and provide everything you might require during your stay. My only issue was the availability of Wifi in the Tech hungry age we live in. But this is the same across many sites. Lots of adults huddled together in search of connectivity.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew & Janette for being so accommodating and really making our brief stay so enjoyable. I can only recommend this site to anyone planning a stay in the Vendee region.
We will definitely return to this site if our travels take us to the Vendee region again.

Booked this site for 5 nights to coincide with the start of Tour de France from nearby Isle de Noirmoutier,
Pitches are certainly huge as mentioned in previous reviews. Facilities are kept immaculate and were adequate for the number of campers on site in mid June.
We were able to cycle into Beauvoir along quiet country lanes. This small town had patisseries. Charcuteries a couple of bars and a weekly market.
Although this is a British owned site it attracts a range of nationalities and all site notices were posted in a number of languages. This resulted in a far more pleasant ambience than on sites where British owners appear to solely seek out Brits for their clientelle.
At the time of our visit baguettes were elivered daily to order and frites were also cooked on request each evening - a welcome addition to our bbqs.
The nearest beach was around 20 mins away by car and Isle de Noirmoutier a similar distance.
A very well maintained and friendly site, highly recommended

We have just spent 28 days on this lovely site. It is a very peaceful site and the owners are very helpful. Toilet block is clean and the showers are hot. Work is on going to upgrade the site to a one star but even so it is clean and tidy. We have been going to this site for about sixteen years and every year we have seen improvements. The owners are working hard to keep the high standard they have set themselves. As we store our caravan there we will be returning next year and expect to see even more improvements to what is a very peaceful and well kept site.

On the strength of other reviews on here, we rolled up to this site on spec in early June. We had a slight hiccup finding the site as we didn't notice on our map that the D59 runs north from St Gervais as well as south. We phoned up and were 'talked in' which was enormously helpful.
The site itself is very much natural camping with no hard standings for those who might want them. Its wonderfully quiet - mind you there were only 3 other units on site when we were there. The local wildlife provided the soundtrack for our stay.
If you have children who want entertainment laid on, they will be disappointed but the playing field has a goal, plenty of space to kick a ball around and a petanque pitch. However, they could have a truly wonderful time just pottering around.
While chips, ice cream (and even wine, I believe) is available on site, there is a good supermarket about 10 minutes away.
The sanitation facilities are in the barn and have recently had some alterations taking on board some comments about light levels. All unisex and with only 4 couples in site, we never had company in the block never mind queues!
The single biggest attribute is the size of the pitches. Andrew was saying that he had been advised that he could squeeze in over 70 pitches into the site. In fact there are only 25 pitches over 2 fields - they are keen to keep the character of the site.
We too will definitely be returning to Le Fief Angibaud. Hopefully the weather will be a little kinder and we can take better advantage of the beautiful beaches close by.

Have just returned from another great week at Camping le Fief.
Andrew and Jeanette are excellent hosts and were really helpful when we arrived with broken power pack for fridge and broken pedal on childs bike.
Cant say a lot more than has already been said.
Great site for get away from it all holiday. Huge pitches.Few distractions on site !
Huge sandy beaches of the Vendee at St Jean de Monts and Notre Dame de Monts (20 mins) or great rocky coast of Brittany up at Pornic or Bretz Sur Mer (30-50 mins)
We are already planning to return in August 2012.
