This could be our perfect French campsite! We stayed here for 2 weeks and had a brilliant time. The (English) owners are friendly and helpful and everything else just falls into place from there. The location is quiet and rural and yet also not far from local towns and beautiful beaches. The whole site is very well cared for, the pitches are massive (twice the size of most campsites), most pitches have electric hook ups and there are plenty of water taps. There is lots of open space for kids to play in although no play area as such. The amenities barn houses toilets, showers, and sinks for washing up, personal washing and clothes washing. Also heaps of local information, a table tennis table and free wifi, plus I think a washing machine and fridge freezer although we didn't use these. Despite the site being full while we were there everything was kept very clean and there was always enough hot water. We recommend taking advantage of the ordering service for the Boulangerie - just leave your requests for the next morning with the owners. We found so much to do in this area that we couldn't fit it all in in a fortnight and are seriously considering coming back for another 2 weeks next summer

We spent nearly three weeks last August on this site and had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable time here, and is certainly the best value for money we've found in all the time we've been on family camping holidays.
The owners are lovely, and the site has a real 'home from home' quality.
The pitches are enormous and there is plenty of room for the kids to play and let off steam without getting under everyone else's feet.
The facilities are quite basic, although perfectly adequate for our needs, and honestly described on the site's website. Everything is kept clean and tidy, the showers are nice and warm, the washing machine does its job well and quickly, the wi-fi worked fine for us, and the children and their new-found friends enjoyed the table tennis table.
Their home-cooked chips are fantastic, and the bread from the local bakery is excellent value, delivered fresh every morning.
Having tried to find the site without a map, I would strongly recommend having one with you when you are first heading towards the site. We got completely lost on the way and had to phone for directions, (which were cheerfully given), and having once found it we had no difficulty finding our way back to it again.
There are a couple of supermarkets down the road in St Gervais, and the site is within easy striking distance of lovely sandy beaches and the wonderful island of Noirmoutier.
We had a wonderful holiday here, and thinking about it several months later makes me wish we were back there now. We are certainly hoping to return one day, and have no hesitation in recommending the site to anyone looking for a friendly and peaceful place to stay in this lovely part of the world.

We visited in August 2013 and were there for a week, very good weather, sunny every day bar one when it rained during the day although we were able to sit out in the evening.
Very large pitches - we had 3 for our party of 3 families and could have easily managed with 2; 3 x 5 man tents and 1 x 3 man tent.
Quiet site during the day but the cockerels started crowing very early; having said that this is what you expect in the country.
Friendly owners, great to be able to order breakfast, croissant/pastries, and bread for lunch. Had chips, which the owners had cooked, one night which were very nice.
Toilet block could do with another hand basin (there are two in cubicles). Nearest supermarket/petrol station under a 10 minute drive away.
Visited Ile de Noirmoutier three times, really enjoyed it there; plenty of nice beaches and the 'capital' very pretty, good for shops, restaurants and ice cream parlours. You can either go via the modern bridge or over on the tidal causeway if you get the timing right. We also enjoyed Pornic which was very picturesque.
Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend the campsite.

As a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 young children aged 8, 6 and 4), this camp site was brilliant for meeting all our needs. We arrived in the evening, after a tiring drive from the tunnel, to a warm greeting from the owners. We had a wonderful pitch for our large tent with plenty of room around it. The pitches are spaced out with hedges for privacy. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and the family shower room meant that we could all have a shower together with plenty of room. Plenty of hot water at all times for showering and washing up and never waited to use any of the facilities. Fridge and freezer available for campers to use. There were a selection of rackets etc for the children to use on the field set aside for the children to play on. Library with a selection of books for campers to borrow. During our stay, the children made friends and were able to wander around the site which was private and safe. We used the bakery delivery service a couple of times and is was lovely to be able to pick up our croissants and pain for breakfast (reasonable price of €1 a croissant and same for the pain). Wine and ice creams also for sale but we spent a lot of the day travelling around the area so didn't purchase any. We all loved the town of St Gilles Croix de Vie with the harbour, restaurants and shops. We found some lovely quiet beaches along the coast between St Jean de Monts and St Hilaire de Riez. Would recommend this camp site if you are looking to visit this region and want some peace and quiet.

This was our first stay at Camping Le Fief Angibaud. The site was very peaceful and quiet and consists of two very large fields and two small hedged pitches. The pitches are massive and flat.
Owners Jan and Andrew are very friendly and welcoming and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area.
A lot of people staying on the site were regulars and had been leaving their caravans there in storage for many years, which is a good sign, also we were made to feel very welcome by everyone.
The unisex toilet block was in the barn and was adequate and clean at all times.
This is a lovely area for walking, cycling and visiting the clean and empty beaches which are about 10miles away.
We hope to visit the site again as we really liked it and next time we will take our bikes.

A lovely quiet campsite. We had a very relaxing time here. There are 2 large fields to choose from both with large flat pitches. The facilities were spotlessly clean with plenty of toilets, showers and washing-up facilities. The use of a large fridge freezer was a bonus. There was a faily wash room which was I thought a very good idea. Wifi was limited to a small area but this was no problem. We hadn't visited this area of France before and we really liked it, some of the local beaches are superb, expansive, clean sandy beaches with very few people around, in the peak summer months this probably changes. The local markets were very good offering some superb fresh seafood in particular oysters. I would recommend this campsite and also the area to others.

Booked here for a 7 night stay in May, the site is about 3 km outside St Gervais. The pitch we were allocated was large with drainage, 13 amp EHU and water. The facilities were excellent. Wi-fi hotspot didn't seem to like my I-pad, no reception.
Due to having a motor home we tend to rely on public transport or walking for getting around, we don't like to move motor home if we can help it once arrived to leaving. We realised this wasn't an ideal spot for us as no public transport and only walking would have to be done on the roads, not ideal when you have a dog.
Explained to the owners who sympathised, therefore only stopped 1 night.
Whilst site very nice, on checking reviews, most were from caravan owners or people with tents. Not ideal for motor homes if you have no other transport.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August. This was the second time we have stayed here and it continues to be a great place to stay. Huge, flat pitches, quiet environment and good shower/toilet block.
We had electric hook-up, there is Wi-Fi and Janette & Andrew were very friedly and helpful. Our girls are 4 & 7 and it was very safe for them to get around, and plenty of room to play in the field.
Lots of things to do around the local area, with plenty of supermarkets, close beaches and Andrew makes superb chips.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come again soon.

This is a lovely site in a very interesting area of France. We drove down from St Malo and did the journey in around 3. 5 hours. The site directions were easy to follow and the entrance to the site was well signposted.
The site is well laid out with huge pitches, electric connection needs a long lead. The English owners are friendly and helpful. The site was pretty full in August although there was still room for 'ad hoc' arrivals, they also cater for overnighters. We have a 25 foot van and we were towing a Smart on a trailer, there was still loads of room on our pitch.
The site is laid out in two fields there is one hard standing pitch. The weather was beautiful but it may have been tricky for a motorhome if it had been wet, the owners assured us we could have been towed out if needed! The two fields have around 25 pitches and were a mixture of motorhomes, tents and caravans, plenty of room here for the larger RV's. There was a nice mix of nationalities on theis site which did not cater exclusively for Brits.
The facilities are housed in an old barn, dated but with loads of very hot water. There are sinks for washing up, toilets with paper and unisex showers. There is also a washing machine. The barn also has a collection of books and an information area. There was also a table tennis table folded up but we didn't see it being used.
Ice-cream is on sale and chips can be ordered from Reception (take a bowl). During July and August bread can also be ordered every day. Wifi is available but you can only really pick it up in the toilet block, not quite as bad as it sounds.
This is an interesting area of France with lots to keep you occupied. The town of Beauvoir sur Mer is around a 5 minute drive away and the lanes around the site are perfect for cycling. Supermarkets are within easy reach but we felt a car was really needed, especially for a longer stay. There are many good restaurants within driving distance but you would again need transport.
Beaches are about 10 miles away and you can take your choice from many, from the larger brash resorts like St Jean de Mont, to smaller tucked away places. This area contrasts the bigger touristy places with smaller rural areas and salt flats. Shellfish is a speciality and there is no better place for oysters.
We enjoyed our stay on the site, we were going further south but the weather was hot and we found enough to do to while away a peaceful 3 weeks.

Smashing site! Ideally located away from the busy main drag down the coast of the Vendee, yet within easy reach of everything the Vendee has to offer.
Do not expect a 'Bells and Whistles' site; with no pool or a bar or entertainment, it remains a family site but not for those with teenagers, or other such beings with a low boredom threshold!
For us it was a jewel of a site to find, the only sounds we heard for a while were those of birds. While not birdwatchers, we saw buzzards and hawks and numerous storks!
Andrew and Jeanette (sorry if spelling is incorrect!)were helpful and unobtrusive. This is the first site we've been to where we were offered a hot drink on arrival, most welcome.
Fresh bread was available for ordering each morning and there were also available for purchase, ice creams and chips (well done Andy). The small town of St Gervais is a little over 1 mile away, it has a cash point, boulangerie and a butchers as well as a butchers and cafe/tobacconist. All the expected super/hypermarkets can be found within 15/20 mins drive.
We will return (God willing)!
