For the fifteenth year we have been back to this lovely site, each year it seems to get better and better. The couple that have the site are always friendly and willing to help with advice. If you want to get to the beach then you have a short drive, but parking is free. Fuel is available with in a ten minute drive, but they do close on Sunday afternoon. You may ask why we keep going back year after year, well it is because even with young children running about it is peaceful and what we want in our older years is that peace of mind and good weather. It does not both us, both in our 60s that we have to drive there as when you get to the site it is well worth it.

We stayed here for eleven nights in August and were very pleased with the facilities. The pitch size was enormous allowing for car, caravan, awning and wind shield. This was needed because the wind seemed to get up every afternoon although miraculously seemed to settle again in the evening. The showers were clean although at times the water was not over hot.
This is a great base to tour the Vendee coast and the Ile de Noirmoutier. It is an amazing experience driving across the Passage de Gois just as the tide as gone out.
The delightful town of Pornic is only thirty kilometres away, and the whole area is a haven for walking and cycling. I would have no hesitation visiting this sight and area again

Booked here last minute after cancelling planned UK trip due to very poor weather and we were not disappointed.
Weather was glorious- some light rain but managed to get to beach most days.
Site is small with no entertainment facilities. There is a field for games, a swing and a table tennis table (in barn). As other reviews have mentioned if you want a pool, bar or shop on site - this is not the site for you.
We have 4 children under 8 and they spent their time on site, making friends, cycling and playing cricket & football.
If you want a relaxed and uncomplicated camping experience with huge pitches and within easy reach of some great beaches and other attractions then Camping le Fief is perfect.
The English owners are very helpful and full of local information.
Ice creams and chips are available on site at a very reasonable price and you can hire a BBQ for a small fee.The local weather is posted in the barn
The toilet facilities are in the barn and are unisex. The showers are hot and free and also located here is the washing up facilities and washing machine (5 euros). We found the facilities to always be clean and well maintained.
We would have no hesitation in returning back to Camping le Fief for a relaxed camping trip.

Had a very relaxing 8 days at the site. The owner Andrew advised of a garage for me to obtain a new tyre after a blow out on the van, As stated by other's if your looking for a pool and evening entertainment then the site is not for you.
The pitches are huge so no over crowding, Although the site is English owned, you will find a mix of nationalities, Which I found a bonus. The site fees are very good, as are the facilities

We stayed here for 4 nights following positive comments on this site and we were delighted. The owners are very friendly and helpful, even helping us to book tickets for Puy du Fou park (well worth a visit!) as we'd forgotten to do so from home. The pitches on the main field are massive giving the site a quiet and spacious environment and we found the cost very reasonable compared to other sites we stayed at. The site has swings for children and a grassed area for ball games
It is handy for the main areas of the Vendee and only a 20 minute drive to some wonderful sandy beaches.
We are already planning next year's trip and it includes a stay at le Fief Angibaud again.

Just to reinforce that the site is still the same in 2010 - a cracking site.
We took our 2 kids (5 & 7) who really enjoyed getting to know the neighbours in a nice safe environment.
As previous comments if you're looking for a pool and late night activity then this is not the site for you, but if you want somewhere nice and quiet with good clean facilities then go for it!
The local beaches we found (20 mins drive) were lovely and clean, sandy with plenty of space for the kids to play. Mainly French and very few Brits which is just how we like it!
We would recommend a trip to Pornic, canoeing at Sallertaine, and the donkey sanctuary just outside Beauvior all of which the kids loved.
If you want a downside then the site could use a little more shade for the odd occasion when the sea breeze isn't keeping you cool and the washing machine was priced a little steep at €5 a go!

We stayed at this campsite in July and how delightful it was. The pitches were huge allowing us to pitch our Montana 6 tent plus extension with plenty of room for table, chairs etc.
The facilities are housed in a barn but are very clean and adequate. In this facilities barn are the washing up sinks, a couple of fridges for use, a washing machine and an information board. This board is packed with useful local information.
There are bikes to hire which we took advantage of early one morning. Plenty of quite flat lanes around the site area. We saw plenty of wild life on this trip, herons, stalks, water voles to name a few.
Supermarkets are a few minutes drive and the coast approx. 20 to 30 mins drive.
We received a very warm welcome on arrival by the owners, they were particularly helpful when we ran out of gaz for our fridge in helping out with an alternative supply and they were always available to answer any queries or just to chat.
In my opinion this site is more suited to those wanting a quiet relaxing stay, we will definitely be returning to this site in the very near future.

Back for 4 nights this year as part of 2.5 week trip - timed to coincide with Beauvoir sur Mer July 14th festivities (evening market and fireworks etc). Lovely to see Jeanette and Andy again - they have been busy in the last year, now a washing machine in the sanitaire and fresh paint etc. Communal fridge and freezer handy for cold drinks etc - other sites in France charge for iceblocks to be frozen and have to be handed in during office hours. We started the holiday in the southern Vendee (Tranche sur Mer) on a very busy, tiny pitch site. Coming back to the huge pitches at Le Fief Angibaud was so much more relaxing (this is an Aire Naturelle site). NB site permits BBQ's which is also a bonus for us - not as common as you might think in France. Prices still very reasonable. Recommended and would go again.

This site is located about one mile north of St Gervais and about 3 miles east of Beauvoir Sur Mer in northern Vendee. It is well placed for access to the isle of Noirmoutier, especially via the causeway, and the passenger ferry to the isle of Yeu as well as a number of beaches in the area.
The site itself is split into 2 main fields, one to the north and one to the west. (we stayed on the north field). The pitches are all level and will comfortably accommodate the largest of caravans or tents, in fact some pitches were the biggest I have ever seen.
The toilet block, situated near the entrance of the site, contains washing up facilities, chemical toilet disposal point, washing machine (€5 a go), fridge and freezer (both free to use), a family room comprising toilet, wash basin and shower, as well as toilets (British style), showers (free) and wash basins all contained within individual cubicles. They were all kept in good condition throughout our stay.
There is no swimming pool, or any other form of on site entertainment other than a table tennis table, a selection of other games and a grass area for kids to play on. This, along with the location and the fact that night time quiet rules were very well observed helps to make it a very quiet campsite.
There is no shop on site, however there is a boulangerie and other shops a short drive away in St Gervais, as well as supermarkets and restaurants nearby.
The site owners are English and seemed to be very friendly with everyone. Most of the campers were from the UK and a lot of them were return visitors some of whom had taken advantage of the caravan storage available.
In the toilet block the lights only stay on for 10 minutes after pressing the button, if they are already on when you get there you have to remember to press the button again or they could go off at any time. As some of the cubicles are quite gloomy, even in the daytime this could do with altering.
Price wise I wouldn’t say that it’s an expensive site but it is about as much as you would want to pay. Its biggest selling point has to be the tranquillity and the size of the pitches, the field we were on contained 6 pitches but could easily have had double that number. For these reasons its not difficult to see why people choose to keep coming back. Definitely one I would consider revisiting.

We have stayed at this campsite many times, found it to be very friendly, there are now supermarkets not too far away, if you're energetic you could cycle to them.
The beaches are absolutely lovely in the area, the weather can be mixed but we have generally had brilliant sunshine, just what you need.
We found that the site it is more suitable to adults as there is no entertainment on the sight other than a table tennis table and a space to play ball games away from the tents and caravans
