My family and I have just spent the most amazing weekend at this caravan park. We arrived Friday night and the staff on reception booked us in quickly and then directed us to our pitch. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.

The toilet block was very very clean, every time I used it it was spotless. The children's park and football pitch were very good, the children spent a lot of time on there.

We used the club house on the Friday and Saturday night, and on both nights we found the people in there very friendly, on Saturday night they had a karaoke which again was good, people where up and dancing. There was also a stand on the park for cooked food, the man 'vince' was nice and so was his food.

I found our overall stay at Hales Hall very good, we will book up again hopefully for longer next time.

Just returned from a great weekend as what in wrongly nicknamed hells hall. Luckily we ignored the bad reviews on this site. We were a party of 10 adults plus kids. The site is very clean the toilets and shower were cleaned often, could have done with a small chair or bench in the showers as the floor got very wet, Lovely buttie van on site. Staff very helpful pitches good size, could do with a warden at night as some people forget about the after 11 keep noise down policy however the noise didn't continue too late. Would definitely stay here again

Just retuned after a fantastic bank holiday weekend at Hales Hall. Staff are very friendly and site is clean and tidy.

Pitches are fairly spacious however the whole site is on a slope but has very good drainage.

Site was noisy on the first night until well after midnight and on subsequent nights was a lot of noise from some of the seasonal pitches until midnight. Could have done with a warden to wonder around and tell people to quieten down.

Toilet and shower block was very clean with 3 showers each in both male and female blocks. Male block also had around 3 toilets and female block around 5 or 6 toilets. Showers were hot and water pressure was good. Could have done with a small stool or similar in the shower to put clothes on or have more hooks on the wall for hanging clothes up.

Large field near to the bar which can be used for football and children's games also fairly good children's play area.

Cheadle town centre only a few minutes up the road with a large Morrisons and Netto store plus many take out shops.

All in all a good tidy site which we will hopefully be visiting again.

We visited this site as 3 couples in tents. With various elements of the party arriving at differing times we avoided another local site that can be funny about these things and came here.

The setting of the site is lovely - far greener and spread out than we expected. There's a small wetland park next door as well.

The reception was friendly with all facilities explained to us and it was pointed out that they had a quiet policy after 11pm. Having seen a few comments regarding noise this was good to hear.

We were in the family field and whilst there was a little noise it was no more than you'd expect anywhere.

The toilets were always kept very clean and are locked at night when a key is required.

The on-site bar was friendly and cheap if a little quiet when we visited.

Vince in the food van does a great breakfast bap - used him both mornings.

All in all a great stay and we'd use it again, particularly given its proximity to Alton Towers.

I thought the site was quite good. I would give it a rating of 4 out of 5. The facilities are easy to get to, like the toilets and showers except you have to have a twenty pound deposit for the key to use them which is then returned on the return of the key when you leave.
The play area is quite small but okay for kids of a younger age. Also the bar is fairly cheap; £2.70 for a pink of carling. I would recommend it to a person staying over for Alton Towers. The bar serves food and has a games room with 2 pool tables and a dart board.
It has a shop that serves breakfast.

Just returned from this sight a day early. The site itself was good and had the facilities you needed toilets, showers and washing up which is outside under a shelter. Also had a shop and bar in the manor house but did not use them. The shop opening times were a little strange. There was a kids play area as well.

The site was quiet as in not many people staying at this time of the year but there was a lot of caravans which I presume are permanently pitched there which were empty. There were a few other tents but some of them left on Sunday. Some of the groups camping were noisy into the very early hours of the morning so had two sleepless nights. No management around at the time to sort this. This was the reason for the early return home. The costs per night was a bit expensive. I do not think we will go again as very close to home and can find cheaper.

Booked for four nights and stayed just one. A warning for those driving large MPVs/small campervans-check the prices first. No prices on website.

On arrival the guy wanted to charge me over £40 a night for 1 adult and 2 children in a tent because we'd arrived in a Mazda Bongo which we weren't intending to sleep in (it's not converted and doesn't have beds) He still wanted to charge me for two pitches if I put our 3 man tent up so we all ended up sleeping in the van for £26. This is a very basic site, toilets clean but old - (£20 deposit required for the key)

In addition to that I was woken at 4.30 am by a transit van shining it's lights into our van(possibly picking up a resident for work).

Was told in the morning after we had packed up that if I had used an awning instead of a tent it would only have been £4 extra instead of £19!

Campsite was deserted too, surprising for summer holidays and being only 5 miles from Alton.

The area surrounding the site was stunning, with plenty to do & see. The site is set on 2 sloping grass fields. It was wet when we arrived, fortunately for us we have a 4x4 vehicle which was a godsend on the slippery surface. I had great difficulty getting my caravan anywhere near level even with blocks under the corner steadys. We were part of a group but were told that we could not expect to be together as it is a first come policy on the site despite the fact we all booked together.

On our arrival at the site we were shocked to learn that extra adults, electric hookups, awnings, gazebos and even sun canopies are all £4. 00/night extra each, making our charges to £34. 00/night. Considering the hookup kept tripping out, apparently only rated at 10amps, and the showers ran out of water due to high demand, the queues for the facilities, I consider this to be very poor value. The site was swamped with tents which did not help the water situation or the queues for the 3 showers in each of the Ladies & Gents, although on the positive side the facilities were being constantly cleaned by one very busy sole, well done to him.

The children's play area was adequate. I would suggest that the first field be designated as a camping field & the second field designated to caravans only, with the plots marked out correctly.

The location of this site is Brilliant for Alton towers. Stayed for 5 nights and explored the area. We camped at the top of the main hill, surrounded by quite a lot of units which were pitched for the whole season. These were mostly empty, apart from one, which had a family party until after midnight. We were really shattered so managed to sleep through the noise.

The showers were fine, apart from on the Sunday morning when they could not cope with the numbers, producing a trickly of cold water. There is a £20.00 deposit on the key. Take a fold up chair in with you, especially if you have children,a s there is no bench.

The little shop does nice breakfast baps, at a reasonable cost, didn't use the on site pub, but seemed popular.

The site could do with having a security barrier down at night, as one night a group of lads came joy riding round the gravel paths in the middle of the night at VERY high speed. I can honestly say I was scared for my sons life as we were right next to the path. If they had of lost control, god only knows what would have happened.

Found a great pub a few miles away called the Raddle Inn, great food, and beer. Really good value and an excellent children's play area.

Also recommend a place called the Ramblers retreat on Oakamoor. You can park at the riverside and have a lovely walk along the old railway line to it (about 2 miles) or drive up. Really pretty tea rooms, but the meals coming out looked fab. The lemon tart is amazing!

Would return to the site as the location is brill.

Not many toilets and showers for how many people where on the site. The playground was small and so was the football field. Fishing lake out the site for walking dog, this was very nice but it would of been better to walk the dog on the site. Pub on site was dated but the people where all very friendly and so were the staff. Even people in Cheadle where friendly, very nice people in Stoke. Shop had funny opening times, but town had plenty of shops.

Pitched on grass which sloped but spacious even though you didn't know because of no defined area

Quite pricey!
