June 2005 Me and my family wanted a nice enjoyable holiday in the holidays ,so we picked Hales Hall because of the many facilities it siad that it would offer but the facillities were not as described.
The swimming pool was very cold although it was ment to be "heated" , it was filthy and very unpleasant to swim in . The games room is to small for any larger person and the bar "food" was uncooked and unpleasant ! We would like to say a good comment on hales hall but to be totally honest they isnt any! the staff were rude. We were not happy with the site and actually moved somewhere else for the rest of the holiday.

August 2004 Very disappointed with this site. I picked it because of the facilities on offer but found that such facilities were so run down that they weren't really usable.
The play area consists of 2 basic climbing frames one with a slide, old, unsafe and dirty. The pool was freezing, dirty at the bottom with dead insects on top, also a corner of the pool was sort of cordened off because unsafe! There is a bbq area next to it of which the implements are lying on the floor, bbq dirty with a small bag of rancid food near by. Table tennis next to it broken.
The games room is actually 2 old pool tables, smashed window, dingy small room. Pub in much the same condition. The shop was basic and rarely open. Showers only 2 for such a large site, mouldy and not cleaned often enough.
Basically this site has the potentiol of being lovely if it was invested in properly.

June 2004 The campsite is generally nice but be aware the almost all pitches are on a slope. The shower block is basic and was not in a very clean state for most of our visit, although a hot air hand drier was being installed. The pool is still freezing and I am sure the 'heating'is only to stop ice forming.
During our stay a group of youths were camped near our pitch and played very loud music until near midnight and were generally noisy, leaving a mess behind them. I am sure we were not the only people to complain at the site office the next day. If only a bit of money was spent improving the basic facilities this would be one great campsite and brings to mind the old adage about a "ha'porth of tar".

August 2003 Went on the Rally field, so only paid a few pounds per night, no elec hook ups left. Went through Camping & caravan out and about "you are invited"
The site is basic, toilets clean and water hot, shop only a small basic hut but owner very nice and friendly! We couldn't call the shop anything other than very basic! and not much bigger than a shed! but it did have the things we needed!
The pool...was okay but the water was absolutely freezing..and that was during all the hot weather!
I wouldn't have liked to have paid more than a few pounds per night as it just wasn't worth more than that! There is a reclamation yard opposite definately worth visiting though!

July 2003 We stopped here for the first weekend of the schools summer holidays. The place itself is quite nice and the toilet and shower blocks are very good. However, there are only two showers in the gents and if you don't do the German tourist thing and get up early then you're in store for a lengthly wait. Overall this site is good value for money as it only cost us £9.50 each for 2 nights.

April 2003 I came to this park with a friend, expecting it to be cheap and cheerful. But I was pleasantly surprised. The campsite itself, is very nice, apart from the Chickens, which kept waking us up. If you are in a caravan you would not notice them. It had a new toilet and shower block, all very clean and tidy. Plays classical music and you take a shower, which is nice. The staff are very friendly. Don’t let the sound of TLC put you off, the campsite overall is very good.

August 2002 Had a good couple of days here but then we were with friends. probably would not have enjoyed it so much on our own. The shop come cafe was too cluttered and unwelcoming - took one walk in and walked out again (my husband could not believe it!). I did the same with the bar although the staff were more friendly (Perhaps they were sampling the stock). The childrens paly area was nice a big and the pool area was ok. If the weather had been better we would probably have used it or sat by it.
The site itself has lots of potential, apart from the showers it felt very run down and covered up!
