Just spent the weekend here quite a nice little site but could do with more showers.

The only draw back was the noise from some campers till 2:30 in the morning, no one from the management was around to deal with this problem. Also large dogs were left to roam on the tent pitches

It is well situated for visiting Alton Tower and not far from Cheadle where there are Supermarkets and takeaways.

This was the chosen site for our first group camping experience with one caravan and two tents. We were able to camp together which was really good. Caravans are in a central area where there was electric and tents around the outside with a road/gravel path in between these areas.

Amenities (toilets showers) all seem to have had a makeover and are constantly being cleaned which is good. Even piped music in the toilets!

There is mention of a shop on site but didn't visit and also a bar within this very old Manor House.

Play area was great for the kids and a playing field just big enough for rounders, cricket or football.

Our tent was on a sloping pitch under some trees which was okay for a few nights but the midges and moving bed would have driven me mad for any longer. The caravan was on quite a steep slope.

There's a £20 deposit for the key to the showers but they are free after that using a push button. Plenty of sinks and toilets (ladies any way). However, only two sinks for washing up but never proved a problem if didn't go at busy times.

Price a little steep for one night (see website).

Recommend visiting the Museum/Reclamation yard across the road as is very interesting.

Probably won't visit again as so close to home (40 mins away), but good site for visiting Alton Towers.

The site was very convenient for alton and water world.

Did not see any site management team, also both on friday and saturday night there were a lot of other campers playing music and being very loud until gone 1am. Noone was around to rectify this.

The toilets and wash area were clean and showers hot, however no drying mat or anything to stand on.

The pub is not to my taste in desperate need of a revamp, however served beer so who's complaining!

I would probably go back just for the closeness, but would not take my son and would definitely pack ear plugs. Also don't use the onsite camp shop it cost me £1.80 for FOUR slices of bacon! Plenty of supermarkets in local town.

Hales Hall was a good site for what we needed - which was a couple of nights stay near the Alton Towers resort. Overall the site was very nice with good sized fields to put our tent up in, although the ground was rather boggy in places.

The on site shop was wonderful and seemed to sell everything, and although we didn't get to spend anytime in the onsite pub I'm told it's quite nice.

The site was quite expensive, but not the most expensive in the area, but in being so close to the theme park people will pay the fees.

The down side though was the shower facilities - with only 6 in total (3 for the men, 3 for women) it meant that the queues were very long, and an issue with the water meant that there was no pressure and the water was freezing - very unpleasent. Also there was no where in the showers to put shower gel and shampoo etc. So that let the site down.

Good for Alton Towers though if you aren't expecting to spend too much time on site.

Found the campsite to be clean and staff friendly. Very close to Alton Towers (5-10min drive) which was a plus.

The toilet blocks were an acceptable size but only 2 showers were available (the 3rd shower was kept locked) which proved to be very annoying in the morning 'rush'.

The site was ok but was noisy on the last 2nights of our stay with ourselves and other visitors being woken at around 3am by others behaving inappropriately however, the management dealt with them effectively so no fault there. The shop on site was open at silly times, which just happened to correspond with everyone being away to the park so never went in but my son was impressed that an ice-cream van came round! Would stay there again if going to Alton Towers

We were put on the 'noisy pitch' quote from owners son.We was a family with three tents and 3 small children but no room on family pitch!we was told there would be no noise after eleven and would be checks through night from a private birthday party in bar/restaurant. We went out for day returned at night to music playing but that was ok still early. By midnight the music, boise, language, and some campers running around the tents and cars. No sign of owners or how to contact them as the number given was never answered. Then party started coming out of pub after 1'o clock My 6 year old still awake, tired and crying. At 4'o clock more campers returned to their tents to carry on partying till nearly 6'o clock still no owners. The owners was not helpful or sympathetic, in the end one of the campers called the police to solve the issue. We later found out the owners stayed in a caravan at the top of our slope but heard nothing. Toilets left open even though there's a £20 pound deposit charge and they were dirty. In all the years of camping never experienced this before.

We stayed here for 2 nights the other week and I was quietly impressed with the site, when we arrived to put our tent up, it was absolutely chucking it down(not their fault I know)but the grass never seems to get cut so therefore doesn't drain well at all, I asked where I could buy a groundsheet from and the owner/groundsman was nice and offered me a spare one of his which helped immensely. Toilets were clean, good size for the size of campsite. The bar, well, it is badly needing a lick of paint and new chairs but I get the impression it isn't open too often but it does have a good atmosphere. The shop is a nightmare, only open 3 hours a day and barely even sales the basics, well that's my opinion. We stayed here mainly as its real close to alton towers. Overall, a good clean campsite and friendly staff, would stay again if going to alton towers.

We have just returned from a family trip to Alton Towers and although I have never left a review on any website before I feel compelled to warn people about this campsite!

The owners are rude and unhelpful, the facilities poor and the pitches overpriced. We were told that our awning ( a Khyam motordome sleeper) was not an awning despite the fact that it connects to our campervan!

The pitches are not marked and if you should choose to go out then it's a free for all and you may not have a pitch when you return!

We paid £33 per night to stay here which I think is far too much for the facilities that are here.

The bar is open at random times and we were told by the campsite owners that it is nothing to do with them.

There are only 3 showers which is not enough for the size of campsite and there was no toilet paper in the mornings - despite having to spend a further £20 for a deposit on a toilet key.

Check in took forever, neither of the 2 owners in reception seemed to have a clue how to do it.

The positive thing about this campsite is that it is close to Alton Towers and easy to find. The location is spot on

I would suggest to the owners that as they allow groups for Alton Towers that they need to split the campsite into a family area and a noisier area for the groups.

Have just returned from 2 nights stay at the park, while going to Alton Towers for a friends 21st.

Got to say the park was exactly what we needed- close to Alton towers, friendly staff esp Nat, pub, showers and allowed groups!

Everything was great except for the rain on the last night. But I suppose that aint their fault.

Have today returned from 3 nights stay with friends at Hales Hall Campsite (tent). This campsite was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. Staff were very friendly, shower/toilet block was clean and tidy, pub on site was interesting (think they need to clean the pipes) but had great character and everyone was very welcoming!

Overall we really enjoyed this campsite, the location is ideal for peak district and Alton Towers. Will be returning next year for sure.
