We chose this site for it's location as a base camp for Legoland and London etc, rather than it's facilities. What a pleasant surprise we had! The showers and toilets are spotless, actually the cleanest I have been to! 20p showers are more than adequate. I showered myself and 2 children with time left to spare, the water never actually ran out on me, I always turned it off first. Water temperature and pressure were good. Didn't try the 50p showers.
The play area was good, although my son did just play football, there was so much room to run around.
It was really spacious and quiet. I must mention though there is fairly constant noise from aircraft, although I would say it is a background 'hum' rather than anything to complain about. We were aware of this before coming, and we actually loved watching the planes! (what would you expect camping so close to London and Heathrow etc!)
We travelled to London on the train, £34 for a family of 4 (1 under 5)all tube travel included. Parking at Beaconsfield train station is £3.50 all day after 9.30am. Regular trains, every 10 mins or so.
The shop is small and could be a little better stocked, although it always seemed open, and you don't rate a site due to it's shop! There is a Sainsbury's 5 mins away in Beaconsfield.
Basically a real gem of a site, we would definitely return, great holiday!

Spent a week here in July as we needed a site with easy access for an appointment in London. This site was ideally situated, 5 minutes from M40 J2, was in Hammersmith within 35 minutes.
Will certainly return to use as a base for visiting London in the future.
I think this is why the site is popular with 'workers' who all seem to leave the site at about 6.30am. This was the only fault I could find with this site.
Toilets and Showers always spotless.
Maybe more organization with the layout of the pitches is needed as some caravans were on the Grass, others on the gravel parts of the pitches, so a bit of a free for all.Caravan next to me was wrong way around, so both awnings facing each other leaving only 1 parking space.

If you intend on staying during the coming summers 2011 onwards, make sure you ask if there are any parties booked during your stay.! We were told a party of 30 was due and would be noisy but we accepted it to stay for the 2nd night. We went out for the day and returned to find a dining tent, catering tent and sleeping tent pitched up between us and the next unhappy family (who left 3 days early.!).
There was also a sleeping tent on our other side which meant the noise went across us.The party are male family members gathering annually for the last 20 years who do not try to be quiet past 11.30pm. They are nice enough but we thought they might try to keep the noise down a little.
My husband and I with our 3 children(4,7 & 12) intended to stay at Highclere for 1 night but ended up doing 2. The tent field is large and flat with 2 big goal posts in the middle and lovely wooden play area that is visible from every angle of the field.
Water taps are available but intrusive to get to if some-one pitches up infront of them. Toilet/shower(20p) block is clean and very usable. It has handy private wash areas and there are lots of info leaflets and free use of large standing fridge and freezer.
Kids loved the free range chickens and ducks in the entrance field (not near campers.!)
Small basics stocked in shop/reception that is located in the house. When camping, most people rise early but the shop was not open until gone 9am.
BBQ and smoking both permitted on field but not mentioned on website.
One thing to mention is the awful sewage smell that is just in the corner of the cut through to the shower block. Not sure what is causing it as its not near the toilets etc but does make you catch your breath for 30 seconds.
The nearby chippy is very nice, the White Hart serves lovely food at a price and the waiter was very friendly and helpful but the reception we got from the barmaid wasn't very welcoming. We were looked at and told to sit until some-one came to help us.We can only assume this was because we were dressed as campers and not ready for a meal out with hair and make-up done.!
We spoke to the owner of the next restaurant down the road on the left, located before the Kings Head.Really nice bloke who only recently got his food license and was opening his kitchen the day we left.Very sad that we did not get to try this place out because it looks lovely and prices were spot on.Wish him well with that.
There is also the option of delivery from the local Indian & Chinese Takeaways(menus in shower block).
Chalfont St Giles is a lovely quaint village.
Tesco petrol station is 10 mins away.
The reason we went to this area was the AquaSplash center 35mins away in Hemel Hempstead. It has the most amazing flumes, space bowl ride, slides, rapids and entertainment for miles around. It also houses a bowling alley and olympic sized icerink. All of which you can buy inclusive tickets for.!WICKED, as shouted by our kiddies as we pulled up.
All in all and parties aside, we would return to Highclere Farm and we thank them for having such a space to offer at reasonable prices.

We stayed here for a long weekend with the kids. A nice basic site, with a large 'pitch where you like' tent field.
Showers (20p) and toilets were clean and well kept, though they were a bit of a trek from the camping field.
The only real downside for us was the fact that there were lights on the fences all round the camping field which were kept on all night, which we felt was a bit unnecessary.
Lovely wooden play area and sandpit on the edge of the camping field meant the kids could play there within sight. In fact the kids spent 80% of there time in it :)
Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and will be back again in September.

Just spent a wonderful 3 days camping here. I am a fussy camper - I need clean, civilised toilets and showers; space for children to play; and a playground. This campsite excels in all these areas.
There are two toilet blocks, opposite each other, with (for ladies) 7 toilets and 6 showers. There are ample wash basins and free hairdryers. In the main block the showers are 20p a go, in the stable block there is 1 toilet and 2 50p showers. All spacious and clean. There are indoor and covered outdoor washing up areas, and plenty of freezer and fridge space.
The site was fairly busy but we had free choice of where to pitch along the back hedge (we don't use electric hook-up). The tent field is huge and flat with a large open space in the middle for kids to play (and big kids too - there are 2 football goals in the middle!) There is a new, large, safe adventure playground, suitable for kids aged 4ish and upwards (not littlies), and a very big sandpit close to a water tap for lots of sandcastle fun! My 6 year old daughter and her friend never got bored and we could always see them from the tent.
We went to Bekonscot Model Village (5 mins drive away) and Odds Farm Park (10 mins) which the children enjoyed. There is a Harvester on the A40 in Beaconsfield which the children also loved - it has a DIY ice-cream machine as well as the salad bar!
I live in Farnborough and I think you would only notice the planes if you live somewhere quiet! There are light aircraft as well as passenger planes, but they are not particularly noisy or low and don't fly over during the main part of the night.
The main noise at night was from people playing football until very late one evening and people talking into the night - but sound carries when you camp in tents and they weren't being excessively loud. In my view, if you want deathly quiet at night then camping is not for you!

Just completed two weeks on this site and I think it is one of the best caravan sites I have ever visited.
When I arrived I was met by friendly helpful staff who allowed me walk the site and choose my pitch, I was then impressed by the overall cleanliness of the site toilets and showers were immaculate and well worth the extra 20p for their use.
There is lots of walking into local country side straight from camp site and you can walk into either of local villages we used the train station at amersahm (10m drive away) and paid £9 per adult for all day tickets into london and if you are willing to drive further you can do this even cheaper.
Has fantastic open field with sports pitch for camping and great play park for younger kids. Would highly recommend this site.

This was our first visit to this site and I will say it won't be our last.
The site is well maintained and lovely and clean. We went with some friends and it was their first time camping with young children - they had a great time too and will definitely go back to the site.
Showers are adequate in size, although perhaps a little under pressure, but at least there a good temperature and always clean.
The site was pretty full as it's the start of the school holidays, but there was plent of space for everyone, lot's of kids on site, but it wasn't too loud.
The site shop is fine selling fresh farm eggs abd milk and a few other essentials.
A large fridge & freezer are available in the toilet block for storing items and freezing ice packs, which comes in very handy.
I would highly recommend a trip to odds farm park if you have children, we toke 3 kids aged: 18 mths, 3 yrs and 12 and they all had a great time, well worth a day out.
We were also told that you can get the train into London from chalfont St Giles which is about 3 minutes up the road, which is handy.
In Amersham a 10 minute drive away you will find a selection of shops and a 24 hour Tesco.

We spent a one night stop over at Highclere and the site served it's purpose well. The nightly fee was £19 and we were shown to what I would class as an overnight area away from the main camping area. The pitch we had was small to say the least and the distance to the pitch next to us was only 6 feet away.
The toilets were spotless and a shower was 20p a go. Aircraft fly overhead as they prepare to land at Heathrow. We had a great meal in Beaconsfield at Zizi's. We would stay here again if in the area.

Just returned from a three night stay at Highclere Farm and would thoroughly recommend it. We arrived during a heavy rain shower, the owner came with us into the campsite and offered us a choice of pitches within the grounds. We opted for the closest one to the children's play area so we could keep a close eye on our children.
There are plenty of water taps around the site and as it happened we had pitched right next to one although the next nearest one was only about 6 metres away. The play area was enjoyed by both of my children and they loved the sandpit only wished I had packed buckets and spades!
The toilet and shower block was extremely clean and well kept. Even during horrendous weather! A real credit to the owners. The washing up area was also very clean with plenty of bins and lights if you should need to use the area at night. Chemical waste points and rubbish points were well labelled. The site encourages recycling and if you visit the site I would recommend visiting the recycling area early on as most things except food waste are recycled separately.
There is a shop in reception which sells the basics and if you go out of the campsite and turn left you soon get to Chalfont village where there are a few shops, a pub, chippy etc. You can also reach the village by the public footpaths at the back of the campsite, which we soon discovered.
The campsite itself was well maintained and there were plenty of public footpaths surrounding the site for exploring and walking the dog.
We will definitely be visiting this site again in the future.

Faultless site at a reasonable price of £18.50 each night for 5 of us inc hook up. We used this site as a base to tour the area, Legoland, Beconscot Model Village and London town.
Train station is a 1/2 hour safe walk on public footpaths and bridal ways to Seer Green and Jordans station.
The chippy 5 mins walk from the site is the best option as the pubs in the village didn't do food before 6pm at the weekends?
