My partner and I spent 2 nights at this site, and luckily had fantastic sunny weather. This campsite is very well maintained. The grass is well kept, the facilities of high quality and spotless. I found it relatively inexpensive - £12 per night for 2 people camping. The woods at the back provide a good short walk, and the field is perfect for families with children wanting to play. The staff were extremely friendly, although we received a slightly frosty welcome from the owner.

Nice flat site with pitches nicely spaced. Excellent wash and toilet facilities, one of the cleanest I've ever encountered. White Hart in highly recommended but you need to book.

Brilliant site. From the start we were made to feel very welcome. The owners were both friendly and helpful. We went with six children from the ages of 5 up to 11 and I can honestly say that they thought the site was "cool". There was a great children’s play area, which was checked daily by the owners to make sure it was clean and safe.

 November 2003
We visited this site on what had to be one of the wettest weekends of the year, but also because of this, one of the quietest.

The site is fairly easy to find with no difficult roads to manage, especially when towing. The reception staff, although half asleep, was helpful and told us we could pitch where we liked, probably more due to the time of the year rather than the norm. Security is good with each unit being given a remote key pad that opens and closes the barrier to each area of the site ensuring, as long as people actually close the barriers, that it is much harder for thieves to wander off with your pride and joy.

The facilities were spotlessly clean, please note that there were only about 4 units camped here, and the mens block had 4 showers and 4 toilets, probably not enough during the height of the season. The showers were 20pence each with the pay box being on the outside of the shower!! I felt paying for showers was a bit much when we had already paid £14 for a caravan, 2 adults and 2 kids plus hookup (this is November). There is a laundry room with iron etc and also a decent clean washup area for the campers.

There are two fields, one for vans, trailer tents and motorhomes with hookups available on grass, this field has a slight slope so if it is going to be wet pitch at the top of the slope. There are also a load of hard standing pitches and beyond these is the tent field with the Childrens play-area in. If you were pitched in the very far corner of the tent field it is a long way to use the facilities but there was good lighting at night which helps make you feel safe. The site has a small shop with the everyday basics, bread, milk, eggs, juice etc.

I didn't see any dogs on site but then again I only saw two other people venture outside of their caravans.

The local area is host to a couple of nice pubs, far too far to walk expecially at night and in the rain and from looking in the pubs I didn't notice a child friendly pub that near at all, that doesn't mean there wasn't one though. The local village has a variety of shops including a Co-op that offers all your daily provisions and a cash point. There are restuarants in the village also. if you travel a little further toward Amersham there is a Tesco about 6 miles away and a much larger choice of shopping and eating.

Nice site, with nice people, the facilities may struggle in the height of summer and a little pricey for what you get, but it is in a beautiful location, peaceful and quiet with a working farm attached to the site to amuse the younger ones.

A lovely site very ammenable to everyones particular needs, perfectley clean, a very high standard of cleanliness,it seems the owners never stop working to keep the site up to more than a high class standard,I was particularly impressed with the care that is taken over all the campers especially the small children, the security i.e cctv cameras and the bollards made me feel a lot safer than most campsites, and I have to say endless supply of HOT WATER which is not normally found after 10 am at most campsites but Highclere has hot water 24 hrs a day and good quality washing and laundry facilities a lovely place to stay where all are made to feel welcome and safe
