We stayed here over the weekend for 3 nights in our twin axle tourer on an electric hook-up hard standing pitch.
This was only our 3rd trip out in our caravan but by far has been the best. Even my anti-camping mrs enjoyed it!
Plus points were.
Well maintained and clean site. The grass was cut, the bins were emptied and the staff were seen pottering about tending to bits and bobs, rather than just sat behind the reception desk.
Friendly and helpful staff, almost to a fault!
Immaculate showers/toilets. The decor was slightly dated but cleanliness wise, they couldn't be faulted. The water pressure in the showers wasn't great, but more than adequate. They weren't push button showers either. The cubicles were big enough to actually move around in, and the shower curtain didn't let all the water spray through, unlike others have done in the past.
The small park was excellent. My 4 year old loved it. It is basically one giant new climbing frame with swings/slide attached to it.
The caged football pitch went down a treat too. Big enough to house a team of rooney 'wanna-be's', without over taking the campsite or looking like a small prison.
A local butcher does the rounds twice a week selling, meats, bread, buns etc. We didn't buy anything but we were told it was very good
Downside.
A large deep pond is in the middle of the campsite, which is only fenced off in parts. We don't let our daughter go off and play by herself yet so to be honest it didn't affect us too much, but there were other families there with smaller children who were just allowed to roam around on their own.
There are only 3 showers in each side of the shower block, although it was relatively quiet while we were there so there wasn't any waiting, but I imagine in busy times you could be waiting a while
All in all a lovely site, nice and quiet location.
If you do go into woodhall spa itself then you MUST head to the bakery. I cant remember the name, but you'll know which one because the queue will be out of the door! There's not a great deal to do in the area, but it was an ideal base for us to attend Waddington airshow.

We spent 4 days at this site with family about 20 of us in total at the beginning of june.
A well presented clean spotless site with very helpful friendly site wardens.
We had one the hard standing pitches (these are the same price as the grass) very spacious. We did need a BIG Hammer to get the pegs into the ground for the awning as it was very hard!
The toilet & shower block was old, but it was kept immaculately clean. The showers had plenty of hot water and power. My only concern would be that there would not be enough of the them if the site was 3/4 full as you probably would have to queue.
The children's play area was small and would really only suit maybe 6-8 children at a time. To get to the play area you have to cross a small bridge which goes across a lake. The lake is not fenced off, but does have a deep water sign on a tree. So children do need to be supervised when going to the play area.
Woodhall spa village is about 5 miles and has a great open air swimming pool and the water is a constant 30degrees. The kids loved it! There is also a open air cinema but we did not not have the time to visit.
Overall Good peaceful site, would consider to visit again if we where to visit the area.

Lovely site, peaceful and quiet. Well laid out spacious pitches (we were on hardstanding which did need a good hammer to get the pegs down for the awning). Facilities up to the usual standards, spotlessly clean. The only criticism would be there were too few showers for the size of site, resulting in queues at busy times.
The wardens were more than helpful - booking in was straightforward and we were shown to our pitch, after being given a choice of several.
Indoor washing up area, laundry and shower blocks were well kept/maintained and clean.
Woodhall Spa itself is about 1. 5 miles from the site - a pleasant spa town with pubs/shops/cafes and an outdoor pool and park at Jubilee Park. We used Janets Cafe (friendly people) and the Indian restaurant in the town. The food was good in both and not too badly priced. We also visited the pub in Kirkby which was lovely - good service and reasonably priced with locally produced food on the menu.
Visited the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Conningsby - saw the Lancaster and Spitfires in flight and enjoyed the guided tour - all in all a great day out. We also went to Lincoln for the day. The Cathedral and Castle were very impressive and admission prices didn't break the bank.
Couldn't get a mobile phone signal (O2) for most of our stay but the TV tuned into all the channels with no problem, using our status aerial, and the site wi fi was reliable from our pitch.
Overall we had a most relaxing break here and would definitely like to return.

It's a nice site, but it comes at a price - you can only get to it via a single track road (Wellsdyke Road). If you approach from Kirkby Lane you minimise your pain but when I arrived I was following one other 'van and we forced three or four cars off the road, and were similarly forced to squeeze our vans past them half in a ditch and scraping along trees so. You may be lucky but otherwise, be mentally prepared. When I was moving in and out of the site just using my car I never saw another caravan so perhaps I had just been really unlucky on my arrival.
Otherwise, the site is standard C&CC quality. Having the showers and toilets out of action for an hour and a half around lunchtime only caught me out once and the showers are free and not push button.
The two grassy fields are sunny but not very private so I opted to hide away in the woods where it was lovely - squirrels and wandering ducks and views over the neighbouring farmland (the farmer was very busy during my stay and woke me up most mornings with the banging and clattering of cutting and bagging hay).
Bad spell of rain so it was a bit boggy but not the site's fault, my actual pitch was just fine. Would stay again, but I admit I'm also looking around for another site in the area just so I can avoid towing down that narrow lane again!

We visited this club site for one night as we were buying a second hand tent from a couple in Lincolnshire so drove up to collect it. We met at the site and the wardens let us both in so we could set up the tent - I was expecting to pay for day guests but no need and this was great! We had booked a grass non ehu pitch and on arrival were told we could pick to pitch amongst the trees in the shade or on the 'new' field in the sun. We chose the sunny field which was lovely, nice open countryside surrounding us and a couple of horses in field nearby.
I had one of the best nights sleep here as there is practically no light pollution, there is no low level lighting on the open field. Other half said he went out about 1. 30am and saw loads of stars. This is a novelty for us as we live close to London.
On the Sat afternoon a local butcher came to the site which was a lovely service! I gave him a wave and he pulled up near our tent, we bought some kebabs and a homemade apple pie, lovely touch.
Facilities were spotless and the wardens were really helpful.
Nice ice cream for sale in Woodhall Spa too!
I would recommend this site for peace, quiet and relaxing as there is not a huge amount to do in the area. We did not take our boys but there is a nice play area although as others have mentioned there is a large, deep pond so I don't think I would have found it as relaxing had we taken the kids as would need a lot of supervising, hence my slightly lower score for child friendliness.

Friendly reception from helpful wardens and given choice of pitches. Lovely quiet site with Woodhall Spa a short drive away.
Toilets/showers always very clean - only 3 showers but never had to queue.
Dog walk on site is tiny and dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve but wardens directed us to a great forest walk beside nature reserve where you can let dogs off for a good run.
Our pitch only had a 10 amp trip, so we tripped the electric with the kettle on the first day ( had heating on in the van too!). Warden reset our trip but after a second time we managed rest of holiday using gas burner, but was a bit of a pain.
There are some new hardstanding pitches have only been done a few weeks and so have poor grass around them, I am sure this will improve with time.
Budgens, small Co-op, 2 butchers and deli/cake shop in woodhall spa. Tesco (not huge!)in Horncastle and more shops.
Local pub, Ebrington Arms, very nice with real ales and good menu (dogs welcome) agout 20 min walk in Kirkby on Bain.

This was a very quiet site in a good location, a couple of miles from the lovely town of Woodhall Spa. The town had a a range of shops including a delicatessen that sold some wonderful foods. We were also able to visit the wonderful city of Lincoln, which is a must, especially the cathedral quarter. Skegness is also a half hour drive away for those who like the seaside towns.
However, we were very disappointed with the standard of the site. It appeared to lack any maintenance and the ground was very uneven with dips in the grass that filled with water when it rained. As a result our awning was flooded on one day despite the warden directing us to the appropriate part of our pitch to avoid this.
In order to collect fresh water or get rid of waste water you had to lift your container up a large kerb around the water point. We found this extremely difficult despite considering ourselves to be reasonably fit and strong.
The reception was only open for an hour in the morning and an hour and a half in the afternoon. As a result we did not see the wardens after booking in and often saw people knocking on the door with no reply. It was therefore difficult to get information/assistance and we did not see any site maintenance being done during our stay.
The shower block was clean and adequate. However, we did not appreciate the sarcastic comments in the welcome leaflet regarding the fact that they only had one hour to clean the toilets and we had to make sure we did not use them during this time. Only one of the handwash basins had any form of soap/handwash which was a very tiny one by the exit.
Our pitch was under a tree, despite requesting not to be, and around the edge of it was dog excrement, which was not nice at all. Again, an indication of the lack of maintenance and general lack of presence of the wardens.
We visited out of school holiday times so there were no children about. However, we noted that there was no play area and a large unfenced pond. Children would therefore need strict supervision.
We certainly will not be making another visit to this site, although we may visit the area again.

Very quiet, peaceful site in the Lincolnshire countryside with nice level pitches.
The unpowered tent site is in an open field with not much shelter, but plenty of space; other (van/campervan) pitches are nicely wooded.
The toilet and shower block are as you would expect from a C&CC site, excellent. It was really nice to not have a push-button shower in particular. There was however very little available in the site shop in reception (no milk or bread).
Woodhall Spa is a nice village approx 2-3 miles away with shops, pubs, cafes, etc.
There is a pub within walkable distance (20 minutes there, 30 minutes back!) at Kirkby on Bain, the Ebrington Arm, which had a good menu and choice of beer. The road has a reasonable verge for walking and not too much traffic.
Would go back.

OK, the showers do suffer from condensation and mould but the bits that matter are clean and the rest of the site is excellent.
We had a friendly welcome and that was on a bank holiday weekend when things were very busy. I would recommend the hard standing pitches rather than being on the open field but everything is quiet and well ordered.
This site is a cycling paradise with access to the 'water railway' route and the Viking Way route from Woodhall Spa to Horncastle. The special routes are good but the small lanes are also excellent for cycling with a young family.
Woodhall Spa is a great place to spend a morning, particularly go to 'Book Fayre' for coffee. Tattershall Castle is fun but make sure that you go to the Church for coffee and cake.
Good walks from here along the 'washlands' near the town. Easy to cycle from the site to the castle along the river bank. Recommend Horncastle for a morning in the antique shops - easy to cycle there along the Viking Way or the lanes.
The Ebrington Arms in Kirkby on Bain is the place to go for a great meal and evening out with kids.
You will need to book during holiday periods but it is well worth it and only 25 mins walk from the site - great for the 'last night' meal.
Louth also a wonderful excursion but Boston disappointing. A great break at a good site.

Lovely quiet site. We recently visited with our young family and found it perfect for us. Nice and quiet, full of nature and wildlife, a massive pond with ducks and ducklings, a 'see-through' bridge to view the fish from. We felt safe and secure there. Dogs were on leads. The play area was fenced off. The facilities were superb - really clean and fresh. The staff were helpful, efficient and accommodating and our pitch - in the trees - was peaceful and private. Nature walks just down the road - not very pushchair friendly with a couple of big gates we had to lift over, but we coped and saw lots of rabbits, butterflies etc. Super site if you like it nice and peaceful - not the site for you if you and your family want parks, pubs and entertainment. Would recommend and would visit again. Found it a bit pricey but had such a lovely stay we soon forgot about this!
