Beautiful quiet site. Amenities were spotless, decent size pitches and friendly staff made our stay worthwhile. Shop on site carried only the very basic necessities and the nearest supermarket was some distance away and not too brilliant anyway. Little to see without driving any distance although walks in the countryside were ace, as long as the weather stayed nice.

We visited this site over the May Day weekend and it was quite busy. Nevertheless it was still very quiet indeed. There were one or two other children but I would say this is not an ideal site for kids. Toilet and showers were very clean, although there were only three showers and queues appeared at peak times. The baby room was very basic, and extremely cold. No heating in there at all and our 10 month old screamed all the way through her bath. Wardens on site were very friendly and welcoming. Lots of wildlife around. Our 4 year old was very excited to see a grass snake, and loved hearing the owls at night. This is a site I think I would return to when children are a lot older, or not with us at all !

A very quiet site ideal for cycling on flat country lanes and woodland tracks. I stayed here on the last 4 nights before they closed down for the winter and they had already closed the woodland camping area as it was too wet, but the open area was very well-drained. Toilet blocks were spotless as usual for club sites. There is no childrens play area here, but there is a playground and swimming pool in Jubilee Park at Woodhall Spa, within cycling distance, but a bit too far to walk. Will visit again when I need a quiet weekend away from it all.

This site is run by the caravan and camping club. We found it to be very peaceful and relaxing. Liz and her husband [the wardens] went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The toilet block was very clean and tidy. The wildlife was beautiful. Woodhall spa ten mins away, Battle of Britain memorial flight well worth a visit. Very relaxing and enjoyable

A very welcoming site with the staff very helpful. We were offered a choice of pitches which were in the main field or in the shady part near the pond.Ended up with a lovely pitch in the main field with our friends in the adjoining pitch. Toilet block was nice and clean.Woodhall Spa a short distance away is a lovely place to visit with plenty of nice shops to spend your money. Also a visit to the Kinema in the woods is worth it. An enjoyable visit and we would certainly return.

We visited this site for the school holiday week. Our first weekend was the Whitsun bank holiday weekend. The site was full over this first weekend but coped well. We were camped near the pond and the layout meant that there is a reasonable amount of privacy even when full. After the bank holiday the site cleared out far more than we thought it would and we had a section of the site pretty much to ourselves for the rest of the week.
Some tips, children tend to use the mound near the dog walk as a den and run backwards and forwards over the little metal bridge. This results in a bit of a racket during early evening and if you don't have kids you may wish to be a little way from here. The camping area immediately near the toilet block sometime had a septic tank smell.
This is a well cared for and well laid out site. Even over the bank holiday it was quiet with no noise whatsoever after 11pm. The toilet block is modern and clean and the showers are piping hot. Highly recomended.

April 2004 A very nice site in a quiet area, but not too far from places to visit, such as Woodhall Spa, Horncastle and the coast. The pitches down in the wooded area are quiet and more private, however be warned, it rained extremely heavily whilst we were there and the place became a mud bath! A tip for those with dogs...they aren't allowed in the nature reserve next door, however if you walk back to the main road to Woodhall Spa and head in that direction for 200 yds, you'll find Forestry Commision woodland on your left where you can walk for miles!

May 2003 A friendly and welcoming site with very good facilities. Staff are helpful and accommodating.
There is a choice of pitches either on the open 'meadow' or in the shady wooded area that is closer to the large pond.
Excellent for walks around local nature reserves (especially for the birdwatcher).
Woodhall Spa is only a few minutes drive away and is great for a bit of a walkabout. If you are into 'antiques' there is a brilliant junk shop on the main round-a-bout in the town centre.
Also, there is a lovely short walk round to the 'Kinema in the Woods', although it is sad to see the old spa building is now derelict!
Grab an ice cream in the old garage/petrol station.

This site is run by the Caravan and Camping Club it offers excellent facilities, and is set in beautiful wooded areas with large level pitches.Wild life is abundant in the area with a small lake as a main feature in the middle of the site The site is a short drive from Woodhall Spa which is home to the Kinema in the woods,a tiny cinema and tea rooms well worth a visit. Woodhall also has some of the countries finest golf courses and has a fine shopping area [although the local chippy closes about 8pm] Pubs are also good . A good all round site not to far to the coast either
