This site is absolutely perfect for a relaxing break. Set in amongst woodland and a large pond, it is pretty to look at. There are two open grass areas for tents and caravans not wanting hardstanding.
The check in was simple and having been guided to my pitch, the warden assisted me backing my unit in.
The facilities are of a good standard but getting a little old, they were however kept very clean.
We went as a couple and a dog which was ideal. There is no specific childrens play area. The only down side was the fact that the neighbouring nature reserve has a sign saying 'No Dogs', however the lanes around are quiet and on our evening walks saw lots of wildlife.
A weekend here and I was so chilled out I did not want to leave.

A simply fantastic place, staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities VERY clean. Easy to find.
Check in was easy, and was guided to my pitch with the minimum of fuss.
The only improvement I can think of is a childrens play area!

We've just spent 4 nights in this lovely little campsite, myself, 3 children and the dog. Friendly site managers, Bob and Yvonne were very helpful and kept the site spotless. We were given a choice of pitch on arrival but advised we'd probably be best in the overflow field as it was dry ground with plenty of space. We went for this option and it was a good choice, the field was nice and flat and well drained, rain and hail soon soaked away leaving dry grass.
I was a little disappointed that ball games were not allowed as there was a football symbol in the C&CC your place in the country 2008 brochure but it seems following complaints from neighbours they'd decided not to allow them (although the kids did have a sneaky kick about now and again, I didn't see the harm as there was only us and maximum of 3 other units in the field and they kept the ball well away from them).
Toilet and other facilities very good, slightly strange layout in the ladies toilet block with lots of toilets one side of a door, tiny wash hand basin with soap next to the door, row of basin cubicles then hand dryer right at the other end of the building near another door next to showers, (don't think much planning went into the arrangement)but always clean and tidy.
3 washing up sinks, again clean and tidy.
Nice quiet site. Dog walk not up to much, but plenty of walking on the lanes around the site. Within easy reach of Woodhall Spa, a lovely little town with plenty of parking and also Horncastle which is a little larger. Not too far for a day out to Skegness (recommend natureland seal sanctuary) or Mablethorpe (good clean beaches) and if you're into aviation there's the aviation heritage trail and visitor centre not too far away. I would be happy to return to this site again if we're in the area.

When we arrived, there were four people filling the form and I felt like leaving right away because one important reason for me to be on holiday is to leave the bureaucracy behind. But we stayed. The bureaucracy was not too bad after all. My outdated International Camping Card was accepted and I paid 5 days cash without getting a receipt. What I liked less is that they wanted to decide which pitch we could install. I think I'm not the only one who can't appreciate that. Most people like some freedom of choice so I think its better a manager tells you which places are available and lets you choose out of one of these. Especially in this campsite this is important because there are some pitches I would not stay for longer than one night if I had to. Especially not on this campsite that is on such a wonderful quiet location. You don't hear any traffic at all. Most pitches are very good and almost perfect are the facilities. Washing dishes, is a job a I enjoyed on this site. Toilets and showers are clean and almost as good as you have it at home.

This was the first time staying at a camping and caravanning club site , and it did not disappoint ! The site is very isolated, rural, and tranquil. The narrow lane leading to the site has numerous passing places. Facilities on site are first class. Toilets spotless and very modern. There is a public telephone too, as my mobile signal was non existant. The site is flat and half is in open field the other half being under trees. There is a small pond with ducks and fish, which is delightful. A lot of dutch campers use this site, I guess its handy when they arrive in hull. There is also a large adjacent field used for ball games, but there is not a kids park. The best thing though about this site is the friendliness and helpfulness of the site staff. They show you to your pitch, come round on your first night to see if everythings ok,and even offered to help move our tent should flooding be a problem ( the weather was terrible, and flood warnings were issued for lincolnshire , the site asst came to see me and offered to help move my tent if it got too wet) The morning after a very wet night part of the site was flooded, but only up to 20% of it,not the whole site. There are good walks locally, and the visitor centre at thorpe RAF camp is only £ 2 entry. Satnav is a good idea around here as its very isolated and unless you like having to stop every 5 mins to read a map, you will be wise to invest the £150 or so on a good system. To sum up then a very nice place run by even nicer people !1

Visited this site out of season, and found it up to the usual C and CC standards. Well kept and well run. Nice flat site, and if you want peace and quiet, then look no further. Picturesque lake on site (no fishing) , and 25 minute walk to KIrby on Bain to nearest pub. No street lights on roads, so take your torch ! Pub serves meals and landlord and staff (and locals) very welcoming. I would recommend this site if you want to get away from it all, but still have good facilities on site

Just returned from a very very quiet site in the middle of nowhere, the site in question is the c and cc at woodhall spa. This site is very clean and tidy but too quiet for our liking, don`t get me wrong i`m not the noisy type but one that likes to have a chit chat and socialise making friends along the way. Unfortunately for our family this was not the case and having walked our way around the site both evenings and witnessed people around but all too shy to even say hello. We also found it rather expensive for the amount of facilities provided taking into account this is a camping and caravanning club site, for the two nights over the weekend was £37.10

Very good CC,C site the toilets and shower where spotlessly clean throughout our visit, we found the staff very help full and friendly. The immediate area has some wonderful walks and nature reserves.Woodhall spa is a nice village with a small selection of shops and cafes. If you are interested in aviation history the Memorial to 617 (of Dam busters fame) is in the park . We used the site as our base to tour round Lincoln shire and would recommend it any one looking for a quiet site more suited to adults as it has nothing in the way of play areas for children.

Nice quiet site, more suited to adults, especially to those interested in nature and wildlife. Pleasant walks near site, surrounding countryside is very flat. Easy 25 minute walk to family run pub in village. Pitches dry, and site up to usual C & CC standards. Helpful site managers and assistants, we would recommend this site for a relaxing break.

Found the site with clean facilities and neat. Was very wet at start of week but ground quickly drained. Love the squirrels, rabbits and ducks. Quiet on a night, apart from the odd aircraft, during the day found the site staff a bit officious with children playing any ball games especially as I did not see a play area although there was a nice pond on site. Good base for Lincoln area and the air bases both existing and closed. Poor television reception if you are close to the trees but electric points plentiful. 5 min drive from Woodhall Spa, dare you to go into the cake shop there and not buy anything. 10-15 min from RAF Coltishall, which has a good spectator area and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
