This was our first trip to the Honeypot but it wont be our last !
On arrival you are seen onto your pitch by the friendly warden on his bike. Lovely level grass pitches ( all south facing!), 16amp EHU. There are water points dotted around the site.
The facilities are new not new But they are spotless. With proper showers that you can set your own temp on and none of those annoying push buttons !
The fishing is very easy (if you cant catch here check you have a hook on !)
Across the road from the site are tea rooms, a store and post office. 5 mins walk takes you to the Dolphin public house - good beer, live music on most weekends but awful food !
I like the Honeypot a lot. You could squeeze a lot more units onto this site, but you would ruin it. Its not cheap. There is a bit of road noise. But it is a lovely place to be !
As I said we will be back. Lovely place !

We randomly picked this campsite having decided the weather wouldn't put us off a minute longer (Sat 12th May). A very friendly site with absolutely no moans from me regarding the shower block (ladies). We sampled rather a large amount of ale supplied by the Dolphin Inn and an excellent meal. We fed the fish in the ornamental pond and exchanged some friendly banter with the rather more keen fishermen on the adjoining lake. All in all a great couple of nights, hopefully soon to be repeated.

Owner & Site Warden very friendly nothing too much trouble for them.
The site is easy to find and has good access, there are 5 WC's: 4 Showers: 2. Deep washing up sinks & all with free hot water.
The facilities are not state of the art or centrally heated but they are very clean indeed.
For any fishermen out there this is a little corner of Heaven in Suffolk. Fished 2 half Days & 2Full Days for 630lb biggest fish 8.5lbs.

Just Had a Great weekend at this site. Facilities are kept clean and seemed to cope with what must have been a full site. Pitches are level and in good condition.
Very helpful warden on arrival. Site was quiet although it seemed full. Didn't try it, but on the opposite side of the road there is a Tea room and also a village store for any items you may have forgotten.
About 10 minute drive to Tesco and Morrisons in the nearest town Diss.
All in all, a good site that I will be returning to in the future.

We took our folding camper, and stayed in the far field (no Dogs), with some friends, and our respective children (5 to 7 years old).
The site is small, with very helpful wardens on-site at all times. Facilities such as the toilet/shower block may look dated, but these were the best and cleanest camping ground showers I have ever seen. Proper electric showers with temperature controls that worked! They were so nice I could have spend all day in them, especially as it rained solidly the whole weekend.
The lake was very nice with wild areas and mown walkways. All the pitches seemed level, and drainage ditches around the site boundary, meant that despite 8 hours solid rain (from 9am till 4pm with no let up), and heavy showers frequently for the rest of the weekend, we had no damp in the awning at all.
The Tearoom opposite the site, was very nice, the breakfasts were just what you needed on a rainy day, and the small general store had just about everything you would need.
The on site children's play area was basic but fine, however, the play ground on the far side of the village common was very very good, and completely deserted.
We didn't venture the couple of hundred yards to the Dolphin pub, but the warden recommended it.
All in all a very nice quite little site, perfect to visit with friends. Will definitely visit again next year.

Great site very quite with good fishing.
Wardens very helpful and friendly people who keep the site and toilet block spotlessly clean.
The toilet block is old and could do with some investment soon but as said well clean at all times.
Pitches are well marked and good sized all seemed to be level.
Well located to visit nearby towns even North Norfolk coast is only about 1 hour away.
Nice little village shop with most large supermarkets to be found in Diss about 10 minutes drive away.
Would go back again

FACILITIES
Perfect for 2 adults wanting a quiet night away: (rowdy) children are actively discouraged. There is a small playground for well-behaved children near the shower block. You can't hear the main road at all.
We camped near the fishing lake. Our neighbours were friendly & courteous, and very quiet (this isn't a site for noisy BBQs).
Do bring a mallet: the ground was so hard we couldn't get the tent pegs in.
It was wonderful to wake up in the sunshine and drink our coffee next to the lake, throwing in koi pellets to the greedy fish (Poundshop).
The wildflower planting is brilliant, lovely shades of purple & yellow, with paths mown through the wild grasses.
TOILETS
Perfectly clean, perfectly adequate, no queues.
PUBS/SHOPS
We ate at the nearby Dolphin Inn: food (mussels/gammon and brie/sticky toffee pud) was fine but the dining room was deserted.
We stocked up on provisions at Stuston Farm Shop about 5 miles away: apart from newspapers, fresh & frozen fruit & meat, wine/beer, free range eggs, they serve breakfast and good coffee too, and there's a small petting farm for the kids.
We had a nice lunch in nearby Bungay (Jesters cafe o/s the castle)
IMPROVEMENTS
The only thing I would like to see which no campsite seems to offer, is compost bins. A few Dalek types or even wormeries would take a lot of the paper, eggshell, fruit peel, teabags etc out of landfill.
All in all, a great little site, don't be put off by the old-fashioned website.

This was a very nice site - spacious pitches and very quiet, plenty of space for the children to run around. The lakes were pretty and the wildflower walk around them well maintained.
We had fish and chips from Botesdale which were wonderful and had a lovely day at Banham Zoo. The kids play equipment was a bit dated and basic but across the common (5 mins walk) there is a really good kids play area, ideal for our kids who as 10 and 8.
The showers and loos were spotless.
You're not allowed BBQs unless 2 feet from the ground, so if you want to use a disposable BBQ you would need a higher stand. Or just get the fish and chips as above!
We will go again as we have lots of friends in the area and it's a good base, and a good site.

We found that the site was very clean and tidy with well marked pitches.
It was only the second time the family had been camping so its all still very new to us.
The toilet block was always clean and tidy, though the showers in the men's side were old and not overly efficient, but (according to wife and daughter) the ladies side was far better. It should also be noted that they showers were free, as were all the amenities provided on site, and though there were only 2 showers per side we never had to queue.
The play area was a big disappointment, my daughter (7) enjoyed it, but it was dirty and rusty, and very basic. That said, we never saw any children her age over the weekend we stayed so it may not be a priority for the owners.
They have an information shed on site which has loads and loads of fliers about local attractions etc this shed also houses the very rusty and tatty freezer.
We visited the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, after finding it in the above info shed and would highly recommend a visit, they have numerous flying displays through out the day which we all enjoyed very much.
We really can't comment on the quality of the fishing as we don't fish.
I can heartily recommend a stay at Honeypot Camp & Caravan Park.

This was our 4th visit to this superb friendly site. The fishing is brilliant,I had two 11lb plus carp, and over twenty 6lb or above.
The people are friendly. The site is well looked after, quiet, peaceful, and tidy. If you want to play bingo, get drunk, and put money in fruit machines then this isn't the place for you but if you like to fish and you want peace and quiet in a friendly way, then this is the place.
I am looking forward to visiting again in August, thanks to Pete and Shirley for all their help. I love the place, and look forward to getting back there soon.
A few tips,
Best take away, Chinese, in Diss, on the way into Diss on the left hand side, really superb.
Best bait, Bread or luncheon meat, Fish light, the biggest carp is around 15lb, so light tackle, makes the fishing more fun.
