Just enjoyed a fabulous 3 night stay at Honeypots near eye , lovely setting with fishing lake and viewing lake. The grounds were well maintained with small wildflower walk. The site is split between dog and no dogs and we stayed in the no dog area near the fishing lake so had a lovely view. The plots are generous and the warden and partner could not have been more welcoming, lending our friends a kettle and frying pan. In the small wash room there is a small spin dryer, books and BBQ that have been left for anyone to use. Small but clean showers and toilets, 2 ladies and 2 mens of each. Lake very well stocked. Everyone on site quiet and respectful of other campers. A real pleasure.

May 2009 Had a great time on the site and as usual the wardens were more than friendly and extremely helpful. Spent the week fishing and the wife and I caught over 1,380lbs of fish, the best being 11 and half and 2 at 11 and quarter pounds (the other halfs first double figure fish)
All in all a great time , but don't forget to book fishing when you book your pitch, each pitch is large and you are not crowded together like some places

Stayed for an Easter weekend break in 2009, chose this campsite based positive reviews. Small, quiet site. Adequate facilities, pitches were fine. Surrounding area is devoid of interest (travel to Thetford Forest or the coast for something more thought-provoking). The two lakes on the site are small, brown, muddy and unattractive. I can see no reason to return, unless I take up fishing.

Just revisited the Honeypot camp site after about four years and found it as delightful as ever. The toilet block was kept clean and had obviously been updated since we were last there and the site was well maintained. However I would like to add that if you do want to fish on the site then you must make sure when you book that you mention this at the time. When we arrived we were disappointed as we were met with all the pegs having been filled for the first two days of our three day break! The warden did not appear to be organized with the fishing schedule as even on the day my husband did fish someone was fishing from his peg!Overall though a lovely quiet and peaceful site.

2 adults and 4 children (5,7,8,9 ages). This campsite has pitches for every type. We needed a more safe one for the children. We could see both lakes and had fence / bushes kept the kids safe. There are pitches on the lake. The whole site is very well kept. Toilets / showers well maintained. Fish in one lake upto 20lb (I dont fish). The wardens, Pete and Shirley, are the most helpful people. They give the site a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are rules, but these help to keep it a quite campsite. No mad bikes and ground BbQ s.We where having a relaxing time here until our last evenings BBQ when the owner came round and complained, mid meal, that one of the children had dropped a crust (2' square) on the floor aswell as a cremated burger. Quote 'these will attract rats and then you and people like you would complain about them'. Obviously this soured that evening,as we could no longer relax and allow the children some freedom as they might offend again. This may be a common event as he has had his comment page on his website turned off for 2 years now. I highly recommend this site if you have older kids, we would love to return many times in the future but are reluctant to because of the attitude of the owner. If Pete and Shirley ran the site it would become fully booked very soon.

This site is perfect for people with older children. There are lots of rules to adhere to, but all are understandable and did not cause any inconvenience. Facilities were fine. Toilet block has obviously been upgraded since the last review, as we could not fault the cleanliness. There are still only 2 toilets & 2 showers, but since the site only has 35 pitches and are a mix of tents and caravans, it was never a problem. Owners very approachable and always around for a chat. If fishing is your thing, this place is perfect. Lake well stocked and pitches just about 10 steps from the lake side. The local pub 'The Dolphin' was recommended by the site, but the food & service wasn't as great as it could have been. We found a much nicer one in Thorham Magna, only about 5 minutes drive away. (Listed on the info given on arrival at the site). Plenty of attractions within an hours drive, including Great Yarmouth. Diss only 5 minutes in the car. We will definitely go again.

This is a wonderfully peaceful site. Excellent fishing lake and large pitches. Plenty of room between tents Very friendly. The site managers were helpful. The information given both verbally and in writing on arrival was comprehensive, The toilet block was clean and tidy. Facilities locally include post office and pub. There is also a small children's play area

July 2004 Nice, small site but the shower block was rather basic and could do with spruce up. People were very nice and friendly but there were lots of site rules including one which said your BBQ had to be at least 4' off the ground which meant we could not use ours. Got bitten to death my mossies as there are two lakes on site so take plenty of bug spray.

July 2004 We have just returned from a first ever camping trip, took two teenagers and two dogs and bikes, we had a brilliant week although it rained hard for the first three days. Nice site friendly, our dogs didnt object to crossing the road for the common tho it got mighty fast occassionally.
Found lots of good places.Thornham Park wont let dogs in "off lead" but have a nice teashop.Pub at Gislingham does a 3 course lunch for £5.25 on Wed and Thurs.
The fish in the ornamental lake are very tame and would probably grab bread from your hand if they could get away with it. Anyway would we go back? Yes but not yet we need to explore a bit more first

June 2004 The site is in a really good location and handy for visiting tourist sites away from the coast such as Thetford forest. Facilities are basic, only 2 toilets and 2 showers in the ladies which are not the best or cleanest I've seen. The local pub serves very good food but you will need to book a table as it always seemed to be fully booked. There's not much privacy on the site as all pitches are facing each other. The lakes are both really nice and I have been told that the fishing was excellent. Julie
