What an excellent camp site! The camping field was very tidy with toilets, showers and washing up facilities, all lovely and clean.

The reception staff were very helpful and told us where restaurants, shops and places of interest were.

Felixstowe is a really nice seaside place, we were lucky with the weather and had a thoroughly enjoyable few days.

We would recommend this site to campers and people looking for static caravan rental.

10/10!

I have been a visitor to Peewit for quite sometime now so its difficult now to say How wonderful this site is. We arrive this year in amongst some slight confusion but it was soon sorted out and Liz had run the small room key over to us after 135 mile trip to the site. As always the facilities were clean and tidy which is a treat compared to some sites we have been to. I would recommend this site to anybody its wonderful and I've said before there is no them and us with static owners and us as tourers.

I nice little touch this year way in and out with the barrier coded entry after 10. 00 a nice security measure.

All I can say is to the owner and gang thanks and see you again next year. Oh and mustn't forget the grounds men they know who they are. Top Men

This is our 2nd visit this year and probably the 4th altogether. This was by far the best and we will definitely be going back. The site is spotless, with beautifully kept grounds, a range of activities for both the static owners and touring campers to enjoy. This is probably the friendliest site we have ever visited, with nothing being to much trouble. The toilet and shower facilities are good with ample hot water whatever the time of day, there is a dog walking area and plenty of bins too! there is also bins to put your recycling something other parks definitely lack! Also there is the reception which sells a few sweets for the children and milk, ice-cream etc. If you need more than this then Morrison's is up the road or at the top of the road is the local Premier shop which is open from 6am-midnight

The seafront is no more than 15 minutes walk, there is a decent market on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays and this year as we have discovered a decent little shopping centre, we can honestly say the shop assistants were some of the most friendly we have come across in a long time! I note some of the other reviews stated they had difficulty getting some tv channels we didn't have this problem at all and got a brilliant picture. An amazing weekend thank you to everyone at Peewit we will definitely be back. Oh one more thing, Peewit have rules as do every camp site but on this site they are not made to spoil your fun but are there for your overall safety, every member of the campsite team make sure they are adhered to so as not to ruin anyone's holidays but also keep everyone safe. Well done

This is the third visit for my dad and his partner, 8 days, with us visiting daily (we have just booked to stay here even though we live 5 mins away, it's that nice and well-positioned). The facilities are clean, the park gardens are beautiful and it's close to all local facilities. It is a 5 minute walk to the Sunday market (which also has amusements but they are twice the price of those further along the prom). The viewing point 12-15min stroll along the prom in the opposite direction and is popular with tourists and locals - you can watch the container ships by the shore or take a foot ferry to Harwich. It is also home to the Fort, Museum and a visitors centre opened last month. Downside: it doesn't get completely dark as docks are 24hrs -as is McDonalds at park entrance (plus or minus?)!

Pewits have a good range of activities and over the weekend raised over £1000 on a charity night; they are busy planning for an entry for the carnival in August and the site always enters a float.

Recycling facilities are good and pitches are level with a choice of hardstanding or grass.

TV: you can pay extra for a satellite as the docks do interfere with TV reception. With a Freesat dish you will get most channels but ITV is missing in most locations; if you have an arial with a booster you will get more but without a booster it will be a miracle if you get any!

The Dolphin pub is 3 mins away and reasonably priced - if you go to Lidl (see previous review for directions) then opposite is the Ordnance. The most popular pub in Felixstowe is the Alex on the seafront and there is a small nightclub nearby. For live bands a little further along there is the Cork - this has an upstairs balcony if it is a nice evening. By car go to Felixstowe Ferry if you like crabbing, fresh fish or walking along the marshes near the boats. On Sundays there is also the open top bus that tours around that stops there and also 5 minutes from Pewits.

There are a good range of takeaways in town but the best indian is in Walton High Street - Bombay Night. The Bounty chippy in Walton is the most popular for locals but Bugatti's a bit further down Walton High Street offers better value for money, has recently started doing pizzas that are gluten free and cooks with locally produced sausages. Chip shops along the front charge a premium (for much smaller portions) but are walkable from the site. Morrisons supermarket is close but ask on site for directions as there is a local short-cut that is not well signposted. It is much cheaper than Solar (the co-op). Sainsburys, Waitrose and Tescos superstores are all 15 mins drive but Asda is about 22 mins.

Petrol is usually 5p a litre cheaper at Morrisons than at Solar but Sainsburys or Tesco are cheaper by another 1-2p normally.

Do look at Felixstowe TV for local events as well as the tourist information site as not everything is listed there.

Felixstowe has a train service from the town centre to Ipswich (free bus with your ticket from the station to town), you can also hop on a train to Bury St Edmunds. Ipswich has park and ride facilities and a much bigger range of shops. Woodbridge is a lovely place to visit along by the water but easier by car.

There are caravan repair facilities nearby in Colchester Rd, Ipswich and at Martlesham Heath - both about a 15 minute drive.

I wanted a site that was walking distance from the beach and a small town, not commercialised but with good facilities. Peewit ticked all the boxes so I booked.

Slightly unusual, I was holidaying for 2 weeks in our tourer alone, as my husband and son were on a rugby tour in South Africa.

The site itself is beautiful, manicured grounds and immaculate washroom facilities.

There is a gamesroom for older children and a lovely playpark for the youngsters. Only foam balls allowed, which I like as our caravan cost a lot of money and tennis/footballs can dent! Although no clubhouse, there is a function room that hosted a family quiz night on a Saturday night and 2 weeks later, the famous Peewit Barn Dance was due, I would have liked to stay but had to reluctantly leave the day before.

I was made to feel welcome and safe by all staff and fellow holiday makers. Staff in the little electric buggies quietly keep an eye on everything without intruding, which was very re-assuring. The static caravan owners keep their plots so beautiful, with small gardens and hanging baskets and are so friendly.

I hardly noticed the noise from the container port, and it is very interesting to visit the port and Languard Fort is right next to it and so very beautiful!

I love the area, so beautiful and interesting and will be returning next summer so that my husband can lose himself in all the maritime history, that is abundant, as well as have a relaxing holiday at Peewit.

Thank you to all the very hard working staff for a wonderful holiday!

Who would have thought a site so close to the Port of Felixstowe could be so good. It is a beautiful site, secluded and sheltered by trees and you don't notice the noise of the dock unless you listen for it. It's a 15 minute walk to the seafront, and about 30 minute walk into town.

The touring field is level and well tended, and close to the shower/toilet block - which was spotlessly clean.

We only stayed for a weekend visiting family in the town - and will definitely be back again to this site. Unlike other sites, visitors were not excluded, and we spent a lovely day with our daughter and grandson.

The only downside for us was no clubhouse, but we had a very jolly evening at the Dolphin karaoke, just down the road.

We stayed on this site from the30/6/13 until the 7/7/13 everything was fine till the 5/7/13 which was when the stock car championship at Ipswich were on. we came back from shopping to find that they had pitch a caravan in the centre of the touring field which was about 10ft away from the front of our caravan and if that was not bad enough they preceded to get there table out and sit there having there meal. we felt we needed to close our blinds to get some privacy. they also pitched a caravan next to us who had an awning which when erected was about a foot from the side of van. blinds had to be drawn on this side also and they also ate there meals outside there awning. So campers beware don't book on this site on those dates. Also speed limit was broken mostly by people in the holiday homes

First visit here, we found the staff very pleasant and would do anything for you. Toilets and showers are close to pitches and are very clean. Waste dump and rubbish also close so not having to go far for a shower, etc. Was very good. Wifi was available over the site and electric points and water close to pitch. Well lit at night with security cameras as well. Hard standings are available. Easy to find and get to pitches. The only thing we found is the noise from the docks as they work 24/7, as we are country folk we did find it noisy. But a nice site with helpful staff. Lots of things to visit and see,

Well here we are again. Yet another visit to Peewit Caravan Park. It is a Privately owned Park where you will find static caravans set in the back ground of this wonderful site.

The last night of our visit there was a quiz held for Charity and I must add that there is no us and them from the static owners its so friendly its unbelievable.

The owners of this site are really helpful and always on hand if you need help. Two groundsmen here keep the site looking brilliant. Owners always there to give a helping hand if needed.

Already booked for next year and another thing to think of course is Felixstowe Carnival an absolute must and of course Peewit enter into the spirit of things with an entry in to the Parade.

Visited Peewit on Jubilee Weekend as a last minute booking because all the 'popular' campsites were full! What a find!

Lovely site and very friendly staff. Lots of things organised for the jubilee which was great.

Toilets and showers were clean. There is a Shack for the teenagers with a pool table and a lovely playarea, also a boules court!

Felixstowe is a lovely seaside town and the docks were fascinating and all within walking/cycling distance.

Plenty of lovely walks to take the dog. Highly recommend this campsite.
