I know this site well, as I went there every year for my childhood holidays in the 70's. I'm so disappointed to say I won't ever be going there again, it's been ruined.
The great thing with this site is its location - just a 10min walk over the little railway bridge and through the field I flew my childhood kites in, and you're in Filey - everything else - forget it now I'm afraid.
They've made every pitch hard standing - on big hard white stones. How the heck do they expect you to hammer in your tent pegs to fasten down your awning? I spent ages trying, until in the end a passer-by let me borrow the massive steel sledge hammer he brings for the same purpose. My rubber-topped camping mallet was ruined by that time. Putting up an awning normally is impossible at Muston Grange. Also, by the time it was up, the awning was covered in white marks from being laid down on the white chalky stones & slid along the ground when attaching to the van - great.
Every pitch is serviced with water - ok, that's fine, but if you don't have the special attachment to fit the tap to your caravan, they cost £50 from the reception, just for a length of hosepipe with the caravan plug-thing on one end.
Showers & loos are 'just' acceptably clean, although the site was rammed when we went so the loos were absolutely begging to be cleaned by the time it was done every evening. Some loos had no paper in so you had to check every time you went in. Not good. They're quite old & dated too - tired. Well in need of a refurb.
Showers you pay extra for. The water ran cold, hot, cold, hot when I used them too.
Washing up area had room for 2 people! No hot water in there 2 days out of our 8, also. There is mould growing round the sinks in the washing up area too.
Our baby fell ill one evening when we were there, & there was no phone number on the board outside reception to ring the local GP. I had to go in and ask the next day.
All these are pretty small things which you can probably live with, however the next point was a bigger deal.
Worst was how rammed in together the pitches are now. This used to be such a lovely little site, now there's just room for your neighbour to squeeze a car between your awning & their van, but it's tight for them to open the door to get out - unpleasant for you when you're sat in your awning having breakfast!
All in all, we won't be going to back to Muston.

What a hidden gem.
Got back from 2 night stay here and enjoyed it very much.
Site was nice and clean. Nice people in the seasonal pitches.
Fully serviced pitches (always a bonus when you have the water to do!).
Small play area, small shop.
Did the job though (milk etc).
Has a fish and chip van but we didn't try it out.
Open at certain times, usually early evening so saves you cooking.
Owners were very nice and had no issues with us staying slightly over our time to leave.
Secure barrier entry/exit.
Great location to get into Filey. We never used our vehicle whilst on the site.
Our only down side would be the tightness of the pitches.
Possibly would not have been a problem have the neighbours not left there car stuck out. But when it came to us leaving we could not pull the caravan out (unless we took there car with us).
We had to push caravan back, then forward etc. Arrgh.
Nice seasonal caravanner offered help, but we eventually sorted it.
Would go back to this site for many reasons, most especially the location.

We have just spent a couple of days at this camp site and the couple that runs it are very helpful and friendly and there was a fish and chip van which was the best in Scarborough, they were cooked to perfection and the oldish man that owns the chippy van was very funny and generous with the portions
We would recommend just stopping for the weekend and having more fish and chips
The facilities where fist class and very clean and hygienic and the reception sold everyday needs and the campsite is of a high class

What a great place to stay, we have been to this site now for the last three years and never add a problem with anyone thing or one, the site staff are fantastic and will bend over backwards to help with anything they can.
The shower/toilet block are kept to a very high standard of hygiene and the showers are nice and hot at the time of this review (3 tokens for a pound) There is a play area for children two minutes from any part of the site and it is well equipped for the kids.
The site as a small shop were you can get papers, milk etc. , in all its really nice.
Filey town centre is about 15 minutes walk and by car about 5 minutes.
I cannot say how nice this camp site is and how nice all the people who go and stay there are top class.

Very good location, we didn't drive anywhere.
We got the bus from Filey to Scarborough for the day.
Great for the dog being only 10 minute walk to the beach.
The fish and chip van was excellent.
As previously said, you must have rock pegs for any pegging.
The pitches were quite cramped compared to the Centenary Way site next door which looked very spread out.
Beware being put on the 'blue' pitches which are along a west facing hedge with trees, you lose afternoon sun very early and some are quite tight, especially number 1 which is also dark.
For a pitch, awning and a dog it is £23 a night so I was put out that you then have to buy tokens for a shower - 3 for £1.
Overall though it was a pleasant stay with location being its forte.

We only spent 2 nights here, but wish we could have stayed longer. It has recently been taken over by new owners and they are doing a brilliant job! Forget the earlier reviews, this site is wonderful. The toilet/shower block is clean, spacious, heated and even the wife was happy to use it. Showers are by token, but cheap to use and lovely hot water.
It was quite full when we stayed but peaceful at night and didn't feel cramped at all. Nice little playground for my daughter and a 10 minute walk to beach/Filey.
At £12 a night for a full-service, hard standing pitch including EHU, a total and utter bargain. It is up to ( and above) Caravan Club standards. Love the place and will definitely return.

Stayed over the Easter weekend (late booking), they very kindly found us a space, it was described as small but to be far was big enough for us, we don't have an awning but put windscreens round.
The site is probably 90% 'permanent' residents and after an initial misunderstanding over whose area belonged to who everyone seemed very friendly.
Very quiet, very friendly couple running the site, the chap has a very dry sense of humour so could understand previous comments but my husband gave him as much back and we had a great laugh with him!
Reasonably clean toilets and showers but could do with a bucket and mop been left as very wet after a few showers! About 15 minutes leisure walk into Filey either over cliffs (although part of this is now closed to erosion) or through the park.
Shop very small so take what you need with you although there is a Tesco in Filey.
The site is only 10amp for electric so be carefull not to over load although it is easy to reset.
Very small park for children only really suitable up to 10 years
Ps dont use sat nav to get to site it takes you to the wrong one and not easy to turn round if you had a large caravan. Dont take the last right turn into a track road for a different site keep going straight on at roundabout turn right for filey and the site is the first right turn.

Just got back from 4 night stay at muston grange, found site very clean and tidy.
Two toilet blocks. Toilet block near to cottages were a bit smelly but forewarned by warden. Showers are by token obtained from shop / reception.
Nice walk along cliff top to filey. Nice quiet site with hard standing pitches with water tap and drain for grey waste.
Rock pegs required. Would defo return. Some pitches under trees-no sun no good for sun worshippers.

Park looked lovely as you drive into it, reception area, grubby. Grass around caravan pitch needed cutting badly, showers and toilets dirty, needed tokens for showers which is a nuisance when shop is closed and you have just remembered you need a token to have a shower.
Good points - the site is a short stroll into Filey, and you can get to Scarborough and Bridlington either by car or train easily. You can take your dog and there is a good dog walk to exercise your dog. The site is quiet on a night so we did sleep well. There are a lot of seasonal tourers on the site we only stayed for 3 nights but would not go back to this site.
