What a cracking little site. Lovely views the reservoir 10 mins walking distance away shops are a short drive away,

Little children's play area on site as well along with some chickens pecking around.

Beautiful gardens very clean and very polite mrs pugh (the owner) was lovely.

Lots of wild birds on the site and are quite friendly, camp fields are great bottom field you can camp alongside a little river very tranquil & peaceful site, even though the weather was not its best we didn't want to come home and will be going back to this site very soon!

Everything you need there unless you're looking for glamping but what's the fun in that, hot showers available very clean utility room with washing machines etc. There is a small charge for this couldn't ask for more

Only had a couple of nights here, as we needed to be in Merthyr for a meeting. Overall, a very lovely site, with a very friendly welcome. Facilities are basic, but more than adequate. Beautiful area. Unfortunately kept awake until gone 2am on one night by rowdy single sex group. We used the pitch right in front of the house, which was ideal for facilities and water etc, although you get the passing traffic and lack of privacy. We would have moved onto the field but it was only 2 nights. We will definitely be using the site again next time we have to be in Merthyr. We paid £20 a night for 2 adults and 4 children in the tourer, and a £3 surcharge for leaving late on the bank holiday Monday which we thought was very reasonable. We found the shower attached to the farmhouse to be the best one, as it is in a kind of family room which made it easier for showering the kids etc. With plenty of places to put clothes and towels etc.

Excellent little site this one in all sorts of ways. Service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I do agree with the other reviewers about the showers being erratic and I'd also add that towing a heavy van up the incline with a sharp bend can lead to some difficulties.

The site was full and although there was some demarkation as to where to site, many of the other campers over-ran their allocation somewhat. Many of them were regulars and were surprised that the site was so full and used to getting away with the extra space.

There is a great deal to do in the area. A beautiful series of walks in local forests and you can even nip the kids in Merthyr to the local cinema and other facilities in about 10 minutes. The 'Big Pit' is free and an absolute must!

Absolutely excellent and picturesque campsite with a really friendly welcome.

The choice of fields with various types of settings of the pitches was great. We plumped for the southerly outlook on the top field (nearer the water and in view of the playground).

Only minor downsides were the erratic hot water issues for both shower and washing up sinks, but once you found the knack and the the reliable ones it was OK.

I would heartily recommend this site to anyone as it is such a lovely location with lots to do locally. (We went to the National Showcaves and Dinosaur Park about 30 mins away and walked the other 2 days).

We use this site quite often and it's one of our favourite sites to stay at. Mrs Pugh and her family are great and nothing seems to much trouble. Our daughter enjoys exploring the area with us & Brecon itself is a ten minute drive away.

Clean toilets are always available, the only slight downside is there are no water taps up on the top field and has to be collected from a single tap at the front of the house.

Always a friendly atmosphere and will keep on using this site.

Best campsite we've ever been to!

The owner's are very relaxed and unconventional which creats a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All the basic stuff's there ie Clean toilets, superb power showers, utility room etc.

The site allows dogs and you're made to feel very welcome with your pet not just accepted.

This beautiful valley makes an amazing setting for this family run campsite (we've camped right by a little stream which doubled as a fridge!).

We'll definitely return!

And most of all the value for money is unbeatable. Three of us stayed for three nights with two tents and one dog and we've only had to pay £45 (not having a car helps to get a discount)! We've never come across a campsite this reasonable and that left us feeling this good. Enjoy!

We ended up at this site as we got stuck on the motorway on route to the Gower, so we diverted to this site.

We rang at last minute and arrived after 8pm to a very friendly owner. He showed us to the caravan pitches as we required a hook up. The ground was hard but flat and pitchable - which was made a little difficult by the millions of midges, but that's not the sites fault and he had warned us.

The toilets are a porta cabin type set up but very clean and pleasant, I believe there were 3 ladies lavs and one shower (not sure about mens)

The site is very pretty and the owners clearly like a spot of topiary - there were all sorts of fancy creations. There is a little stream running through the site which is nice, and there is also a little play area, but its quite basic.

I'm afraid I cant say much about the nearby surroundings as we arrived late and left early the next morning for our original destination, but the drive through was very scenic.

I would visit again

We stayed for two nights over may day bank holiday, we were greeted by the owner who was lovely and very welcoming. We were charged £35 total for 2 nights with electric hook up, 3 adults 2 kids and a baby, which we were very happy with.

Pitch size is great and despite the rain (it always rains on my tent) the ground drained well. We were in a tent in the caravan field (not sure if there was elec in the tent field) tent was pitchable but slightly slow at times due to rocky ground, deltas were fine but ordinary pegs mostly bent, (I need to add rock pegs to my collection).

Site is nicely laid out and well maintained. Facilities not the best I have used but far from the worst, one problem was the washing up water was only mildly warm and required 20p for the meter. Also only one sink had hot water the other one was not working properly, which resulted in queues mostly due to me and cleaning my Cobb. (sorry again if you read this)

I would definitely go again its just so convenient and peaceful.

We didn't venture too far due to rain but I did pop down the A470 to boots and argos and if it hadn't been for hubby being with me would have done some damage to bank account as there are loads of other shops nearby.

Lovely picturesque site with easy access from the A470, warm welcome from Mrs Pugh and family in the site farmhouse. Electric good supply in caravan field level pitches and of a good size.

Toilet block opposite farmhouse is clean with one shower in the ladies and gents with two extra communal showers. Small park for the kids and plenty of playing space.

Family of four costed £17 a night with awning.

Lovely nearby walks around the reservoirs and mountains

Will definitely be visiting again

Beautiful place. We went to try our awnings for our caravan. Very helpful owners, although my son broke his leg whilst staying there the owners were very concerned for him they made us feel very welcome. We will visit again.
We had a great time apart from the broken leg incident he loved it and would love to go back. We are planning on going back very soon.
