Just returned from a 3 night stay, visiting the area due to very sad family circumstances, when we arrived we had sadly been 'double booked' but David and Linda worked very hard to make arrangements for us, cannot thank them enough for their help.
Wonderful site, beautifully landscaped, it is hard to believe you are so close to the A19 and in the middle of a very busy area, site itself is very peaceful, lots of bunnies and on the edge of nature reserve, wonderful walks for the dog.
A real hidden gem, none of our local relatives even knew there was a site there!
Showers and toilets are very clean and very will maintained, no shortage of hot water, and even though the site was full, no queues at all.
All round excellent site, will definitely return.
24hr Asda a 5 minute walk, Beefeater pub just around the corner, wonderful fish and chip van visited the site on the Friday night, Teeside park is shopping heaven!

We decided to spend 2 nights at this site to check everything was working ready for all our holidays over the year and it was only 10 mins away. It also meant I could walk to work on the Saturday morning. We certainly didn't feel that we were so close to the A19 flyover. The facilities were superb and the wardens were very helpful and friendly.
It is only a short walk to Teesside Park with it's excellent shopping facilities and restaurants. There are lovely walks along the river to the new Millenium and Princess Diana Bridges. Right on the doorstep is the White Water Centre which is to be used for the 2012 Olympics. It is very close to completion. Local attractions are within easy reach - eg Roseberry Topping - well worth a visit to climb to the top to see the wonderful views all round. The Talpore pub is right next to the site and serves reasonably priced food of a good standard. Unfortunately if you have dogs you would have to leave them in your van as dogs are not allowed in the pub or the outside eating area.
Even though we live so close to the site we would certainly consider staying there again.

First time at this site and we were not disappointed.
It had large toilet/shower block which was very clean and always had hot water.
Around the site there was a small play area, again kept very clean and litter free.
We were in a serviced pitch which was a good size,
The ground was very hard so take plenty of pegs as we bent a few.
There was a Beefeater 5mins walk away and an Asda again about 5mins walk away.A fish and chip van came on saturday night,i would recommend them!
The reception had the basics, and the people were very kind and friendly.
This site is clean, friendly and only 30mins from our home town so will definitely go back.

Ideally situated for visiting the Teesdale area.
A well managed site with excellent toilet and disabled facilities. Courteous and helpful staff.
The pitches are well spaced out.
The shops are a small distance from the site but there is a restaurant just outside the gate.
Not too far from the main road network, but far enough for it to be a nice peaceful site.
Situated next to the tees barrage,it is handy for anyone going canoeing. There are also plenty of other outdoor facilities at hand.
When a site is this good, what more can you say? excellent.

This club site is a pleasant surprise. Being in such an urban area it's remarkable how well set out and landscaped it is. I even enjoyed the industrial landscape and watching traffic flow along the A19 flyover in the distance. We stayed on a service pitch which was great, they are all in individual hedged enclosures, but they were the hardest pitches I've ever stayed on. The ground was like concrete and I bent many hardened steel pegs. Next time I'm taking an electric drill!
Adjacent to the site is a nice river walk and an interesting nature reserve plus space alongside the Premier Inn to let your dog have a run. It's a great pity that so many dog owners from the site don't clean up after their dogs. I've never seen a dog walk with so much mess left lying around.
The pub next to the site is NOT dog friendly at all. We were not even allowed to take our dog into the outside beer garden area! Well done Beefeater!
Despite the above, which aren't the club's fault, this is a great site, and it's only 35 miles from Whitby and even closer to the Yorkshire moors.

We spent a couple of days at this great site as It was just an hour from home. It has all the usual good facilities as the caravan club always provide but I definitely would recommend this site as a stopover as a hop skip and a jump from the A66 so Ideal if travelling further south. You are right next door to a retail park which has every shop you could possibly need but you still feel you are in the countryside. The site entrance has a Premier Inn situated and we had an excellent meal and a perfect pint in there. If you don't want to walk far late at night It only takes two minutes. I would not hesitate to recommend this site and hope to revisit it soon.

We stayed here for convenience as it's very close to hubby's work and he could walk there on the Sunday morning. Was a bit apprehensive after finding the staff slightly rude when booking.
However on arrival we were made to feel very welcome - check in was easy and we had a choice of pitches. The warden offered to help me pitch as it was just me and our 3yr old son when we arrived ( I didn't take him up on the offer as I needed to prove to myself that I could do it - but it was much appreciated)
Pitches are lovely - very flat. The site is well laid out, and you really wouldn't know you were in Stockton (not the nicest of places!)
We could hear road noise from the A19 on a night, and also traffic coming and going at the hotel/pub next door - but nothing that disturbed our sleep - in fact I think a bit of background noise helped me to drift off.
They don't have many tent pitches and we were amongst mainly caravans - our fellow campers were among the friendliest I've come across.
The toilet block and showers are fab - extremely clean. Showers are really powerful and spacious, with a separate little area for drying off and dressing. Also loved the fact that there were lots of cubicles with sinks and mirrors so you could just have a strip wash in private if you preferred.
The little shop has a few basics in, and a 24hr asda is within a 10 minute walk.
The play area isn't great - quite difficult to walk in because there's quite a deep layer of gravel in it - not much for smaller kids, and the bigger ones tend to just play at throwing the gravel. But it's somewhere to pass 10 minutes.
All in all a very pleasant surprise - I can see this site from my office window and I never guessed it would be this lovely. As hubby works 1 day every weekend finding this gem means we can do a lot more camping than we would manage otherwise.
Highly recommended

We pitched on a grass pitch in a touring caravan. The staff were very helpful with check in and very friendly. The showers and toilet block were one of the best I have seen the power showers were absolutely fantastic.
Electric hook up was spot on water taps conveniently situated as well as waste disposals. The whole site was exceptionally good convenient for local asda and good pub grub on site.
Will definitely return and recommend to friends. We also stayed for an extra few hours for no charge on our departure date which was exceptionally good as this has never happened to us on other caravan parks.

Returned to the site on the way back from Scotland and was not disappointed again. This time we were there on a weekday and there was a little more road noise than before but not much. I still find it hard to believe how quiet it is! This time we walked along the river into Stockton which again was pleasant. Stockton town itself is quite nice with some quaint old bits a market and some modern shops. A good restaurant is the Papa Razzo on the river front.
The Wardens are extremely friendly and helpful. Pitches large and well kept and the toilet block wonderful.

What a lovely site, we thought that being where it was that it was going to be less than good. We were just passing through from Edinburgh via Beamish Museum. How wrong we were. All compliments to the staff, they couldn't be better. The showers are the hottest and most powerful we have ever used. If you are using your sat nav then beware, it may not show up. Asda is only 5 mins away and there is a nice hotel next door for a nice meal.
