A lovely warm welcome from the site owner on arrival, where we were given a choice of pitches and told where the facilities were and local pubs, shops and takeaways.
The pitch was a lovely size, and surrounded by well kept bushes and shrubs, which were perfect for privacy.
A lovely quiet, friendly, well kept site, of which we will most definitely visit again in the future.

Needed to stay in area to visit friends, and found this site. The owner was really welcoming and very helpful [not always the case - we have a 5th wheel trailer, which although getting more popular in UK, are still viewed by some site owners as 'big', ] site was lovely, plenty of electric points [10amp], and toilets [all of which were very clean, ]a good information/notice board, and a small book exchange.
Dogs on leads were welcomed. Local fish and chip shop lived up to the recommendation given.
The site was busy, but there was still plenty of room, the pitches were well spaced out, so you still had your own space, which is really good. The area was beautiful, and the site quite close to Long Melford as well, [our reason for being there. ]
This site will definitely be on our list of places to re-visit, and then we will see if the local Chinese takeaway lives up to site owners recommendations! On the site there is also a hairdresser's, which was always busy, so I have to assume that was good. At time of visit price was £15 per night [inc. Electric]

This was only our second camping trip so I don't have a lot to compare it to but it suited our requirements. We wanted a small, quiet site and that is exactly what this is. As other reviews have said, it is very basic but that is what we wanted and it was very cheap at £14 a night (including electric hook up).
The entrance to the site isn't very appealing as you drive through a small industrial unit but the actual campsite is lovely with breathtaking views of the Stour valley. I loved the fact that each individual pitch is marked by hedging / bushes making them very private. And the pitches are huge. There are just the 2 toilets but both were clean and smelt very fresh. It would be nice if there was a shower but just for a weekend we managed with wet wipes and a wash.
The owner is very laid back and friendly, he likes to 'tour' round several times a day in his golf buggy and just check how you're doing.
Prior to staying here, we stayed at a campsite with a working smallholding which had cockerels crowing early in the morning but they were nowhere near as noisy as the crows / magpies which woke us at 4:00 am on the first morning! I love the sound of birds in the morning and cockerels crowing but these were constant and very loud - it sounded like a large flock had landed in nearby trees very close to us. The second day we were woken at midnight by dozens of military airplanes flying overhead, spaced just a couple of minutes apart. This lasted for about 45 mins to an hour. I spoke to the owner the next day and he explained that occasionally the RAF do night training flights over the valley. As this is only an occasional occurrence, it would not put me off visiting this site again as, other than that, it was so tranquil and peaceful.

First visit to this lovely site. Good sized pitches with great views. No showers but toilets always very clean. Very attentive owner checked daily to make sure all was okay.
Very surprised to be told on arrival that for a twin axle caravan it cost an extra £1 a night which I was not aware of, and not heard of this before at any of the many sites we have visited.
We did enjoy our stay with plenty to do in the area.

We had our first small Southern meet with Friends with Campervans and Motorhomes and couldn't have been made more welcome by Colin & Lynne.
The site has various fields available with electric hook ups and gently sloping rally field. The toilets do lack hot water and showers but take into account the the cost which includes pitch, 2 adults, awning and electric and the hospitality offered then its worth a visit.
Give it a try, most of our members wish to return, as will I.
Thanks for everything Colin and Lynne.

A good straightforward site, exactly as described. Pitches were good, adequately spaced out and well maintained. Yes, there are only two basic toilets but then the cost reflects that. Can't comment on local facilities as it was just a stopover for us. Make sure you drive right onto the grass and then you see the sign to the farmhouse - we stopped in the yard which hosts several small works units and had quite a game trying to find who was running the campsite! Had we driven right on to the grass we would have seen the sign.

We were expecting a peaceful, uninterrupted, relaxing break in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
From the moment we drove onto the site the owner was there. He was constantly driving around in his golf buggy and watching our every move. There was no privacy what so ever. Visitors to the site are charged £1 each and they were jumped upon the minute they touch base. Also they were charged £1 per car to park in the car park.
I found the owner very intimidating, one minute he was very friendly and the next he was quite rude and angry.
There are no showers just 2 toilets that could be better. The towel provided hung there for 2 days without being changed. Also the pedestal was filthy.

This is a beautiful site, set in the countryside. The pitches are large and most have ehu, you may need a long cable though. On site there are two wc's but no showers,
There are fresh water points, waste disposal and chemical toilet emptying points, on entry to the site there are some workshop units, cycle repair and hire and hairdresser.
It's a five minute walk into the village of Glemsford where there is a couple of pubs selling really tasty food, a lovely fish and chip shop with massive portions and a Premier store for papers and groceries.
Long Melford is a five minute drive, but for a nice shopping day go the twenty minutes to Sudbury.
For dog owners there are loads of walks around the site and the owner Bloomer as he likes you to call him is a lovely bloke, anything you want to know he is your man.
This was our first visit at this site but we will be going back again soon.
A word of caution follow directions given on site not your sat navs

This is without doubt a very picturesque site. It has very generous pitches with electrical hook up.
The owner, Colin, is very jovial and helpful, and very easy going.
The washroom and toilet facilities are it's only let down, which are very basic, but clean; cold water only.
There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, such as Clare and Long Melford.
Within walking distance is a good fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, several pubs, and a well stocked shop.
Well worth a visit.
