We have just returned from a weekend break from here and really enjoyed it. Colin the owner made us and everyone else feel really welcome and made an effort to get to know everyone. He gave everyone a bag of plums from his garden too! he came round on several occasions to make sure we were all ok. No showers but for a couple of days it didn't matter, there was a hot water point in one of the rooms. Swimming pool nearby you could use. There is a village with 2 pubs and shop for essentials nearby. A few mins drive away are some lovely historical areas worth a visit. Overall I give the area 10/10 the site 9/10 (no showers is only downfall) I had a really relaxing break. Will definitely be going back as so cheap £10 a night plus £1 for each child.

Visited site on August Bank Holiday in a tent with friends. Site very clean. Greeted by owner who couldn't have been more helpful. Shown to a large field where the views were excellent. Ground very level. No showers on site but a great leisure centre nearby so ideal for a swim and shower. Toilets very clean and as there are only a couple didn't have to wait very much. Site not over crowed being Bank Holiday. Excellent for the kids as they could play ball games in the field, fly kites etc. Could not fault site owner round a couple of times a day to check everything ok. Will definitely use this site again. Local shops walking distance. Everything you need for a good quiet weekend camping.

Just returned from a fortnights stay. Booked for a week but enjoyed the site so much we had another week. The site is well cared for and Colin is so helpful. We had a choice of where we wanted to pitch and were soon being entertained by the wild bird life. The toilets are clean and well sign posted. Colin will point you in the direction of the ones with hot water.
The local fish and chip and kebab shop is within a ten minute walk and the Chinese takeaway serves tasty meals(large). The village shop sells every thing from hot sausage rolls and newspapers to frozen foods and hardware. Sudbury has a 24 hour Tesco if needed.
The site is nicely situated to visit the local area. Bury St Edmunds, Kentwell Hall, Long Melford, Clare and Lavenham are all worth a visit. A lot of places for walks and picnics so suitable for all age groups.
As Glemsford is an old village the homes have on road parking so it does make the road through the village quite narrow, when towing, but its not far and the site is worth it when you get there.
If you have a problem the nearest caravan sales and accessories shop is in Haverhill.

What a brilliant site! No shower block, cold water only in the loos, but hey, the site is a joy- level, grass cut, choice of pitch, surrounded by shrubs, trees, its like pitching up to some-ones 'large' private garden. Colin the owner visits you to make sure everything is OK and gives out helpful info about the surrounding area. Just couldn't fault it. As we are quite local (Norwich) we will definitely be going back and I got to try out the shower in our caravan. At £10 per night including hook-up its good value, worth every penny.

First time camping, and chose this site as it not too far from home and was also recommended by family.
Very impressed with the cleanliness and overall standard of the site. Nice and polite owners who made sure that nothing was too much trouble, and that you were settled in nicely. Toilets were basic, but very clean and tidy. Only downside was the lack of hot water facilities or showers, although as we only went for a weekend, this caused no problems. Heard a rumour a shower block may be built, which would make this site perfect for a longer stay in a tent.
Close to pubs and local amenities, as well as larger towns such as Sudbury (useful, as we needed to go to Millets to get some essentials we forgot), and lots of open space for the children to play in.
Will certainly be back again in the near future.

Ourselves and another family visited this site for a weekend break - and would definitely recommend it! Clockhouse Farm is a quiet farm site, the tent field was clean and flat, grass short and plenty of room. We had a family size tent, gazebo and a large trailer tent in our party and there was still room to spare. Colin (owner) could not do more to help and did the rounds morning and night to see that everyone was happy. All this for £13 per night! Toilets were clean, always plenty of loo roll and drinking water nearby. The only down side was that there is no hot water facilities or showers - but for a long weekend this didn't effect us. The area is quiet and pretty, lovely chip shop nearby and a shop that sells anything and everything! We will be visiting this site again!

Excellent site! We stayed here for the weekend and couldn't fault it. Off the beaten track, friendly owner-full of helpful advice, clean toilets, quiet, level secluded pitches, good views. Long Melford well worth a visit. Lovely walk across the fields to Cavendish (takes nearly an hour) 2 pubs to reward you on arrival! Wongs chinese takeaway (in Glemsford village) very good-huge portions though! Local shop within walking distance but Waitrose in Sudbury if you want a Supermarket.

We have stayed at Clockhouse farm several times and have always received a very warm welcome, Colin is always there when we arrive, waiting to welcome us and our little Yorlie Lucy. The site is always clean and peaceful, the toilets are basic but always clean, there are no showers but no problem as we can use our own The location is brilliant, everything you need within easy walking distance. If you don't fancy cooking there is a great chip shop and chinese takeaway nearby, or you get always eat out at one of the four pubs in the village. All this at £10 per night seems unbelievable but it's true.

We nearly changed our minds about visiting this site due to the lack of showers, but we were so pleased that we went. We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Clockhouse Farm and loved it. The site is very clean and tidy and we received a warm welcome from the owner. We were given a choice of pitches and chose one with outstanding views across the Stour Valley.
There are no showers at the moment but it gave us the opportunity to try out our own shower. The owner told us he is planning to have a shower block built during the winter. There are 2 toilets with hand basins in each and a useful tourist info area. Ground sheets are not allowed, which was not a problem for us. It was such good value - £10 per night with hookup. The dog was free. There were plenty of areas to exercise her too.
The village is very easy walking distance with 4 pubs, takeaway, chinese, shops and off licence.
The surrounding area is lovely especially Long Melford, Sudbury, Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds. There are also lots of pretty villages nearby.
The directions given by the previous reviewer were spot on and proved very helpful as the site is not signposted. We also tried out the food at The Black Lion and would recommend it.
We plan to return to this site soon, hopefully with friends and can't wait to show off about such a great find.

Spent one night here with motorhome, partner and dog. Could not believe the price was £10 pn. I had to ask twice!
Found it eventually, sat nav sends you into Cavendish so don't follow that! Turn off to Glemsford, right up the hill until you reach a triangle of grass with the village sign on . Turn left there and its 200 yards down the lane on the left.
Made very welcome upon arrival by owner, he checks the next day you are all still happy. He tells you where the spare pitches are. We had a few choices still on a Saturday.
Walked into the village in the evening and had a great meal at the Black Lion.
Lovely site, will be going back with the children as its still only £10. Bargain.
