Hi, we have just visited Lurcher Farm cottage campsite for the 4/5 time in the last 2 years, as this was another excellent weekend we feel we must share this site with true Campers/Caravaners who like to stay in Nottinghamshire and appreciate very clean and well kept site. As soon as you arrive Martin Greets you with a very Friendly and enthusiastic welcome, he explains all the rules, (mainly respecting the Farmland around this site) which is only fair to the Farmers and the low noise at Night so as not to bother fellow campers. The pitches are very generous and well kept whether staying in your Camper, Caravan or Tent. The Toilet and shower facilities are immaculate, the cleanest we have ever encountered on many years of camping. Ahmed offers his Curries that are made to order with his real chips a favourite with many as his freshly baked cakes. Kids can get drinks and ice cream at a vary reasonable price. Overhaul a great site which is so close to White Post Farm and Wheel-gate theme park you can walk to these attractions which if you have Kids is a bonus. Myself, Wife, Grandson and Floyd our Dog will definitely be visiting again this year. Bonus, the site is open all year round.

I stayed on this site for approximately a month. What a lovely peaceful site. The owner Martin is a really nice helpful guy and keeps the site immaculately clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this site. Jon from Newcastle.

We have just returned from a weekend on this lovely site and will definitely be returning.
The site has good facilities which are kept very clean. The pitches and surrounding areas are also very well maintained. There is a small dog walking area and even a spot for kids to ride their bikes up and down a few hills.
There are walkways from the site to the local village or pub, without having to walk down the main road.
If you have kids, there are attractions to visit within a very short distance such as White Post Farm and Wheelgate Adventure Park.
The owner was there to greet us on our evening arrival and was extremely pleasant and helpful.
I have already started recommending this site to friends! :-)

Larger than CL.
Site really well looked after, facilities basic and may struggle when site is full.
No curfew, can be a bit noisy if groups are on site and enjoying themselves.
Lots to do around area, especially for children.
Curry and cake cooked by owner are really worth trying, also fresh eggs provided by chickens.
Hard standing is very hard to put awning on, but site is really well drained.

Arrived Fri afternoon for 3 nights.
Traveled as a couple & 2 dogs.
Sat nav took us straight to entrance.
Site drive isn't too long but no passing places if you meet anyone head on.
Lovely site, nice owners.
Home made food (had a curry, it was ace).
Home made cookies & cake was great too.
Footpath runs behind site for walks (very suitable for dogs).
A fully secure grass dog run (approx. 5x60m).
Hard & grass pitches.
Really enjoyed stay, loads to do around here.
I get the impression other large sites may have a problem with theft -no impression of that here.
There's a make do BMX track at the end of the site!
Toilet block is a warm & clean steel container. Showers run on 20p's.
Toilet disposal etc all great.
Covered area for camping pot washing. Fridge & freezer available for personal use.
Would happily return.
Free WiFi was available, but only very close to the on-site house.

Just spent 1 night at this site so we could visit Hardwick Hall. Have to say we were very impressed by the overall standard of the site. There is 1 shower and 2 toilets for females and 1 shower, 1 toilet and 3 urinals for the males. I can only really vouch for the ladies facilities, but these were kept immaculate. A covered area for washing up is also provided along with a fridge. All in all a lovely, well kept little site with very helpful owners. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we were ever in the area. By the way Martin and Ahmed, we really enjoyed the homemade cake we bought from you with our elevenses.

Just got back from a lovely weekend at this site. Yes the toilets are in what looks like portacabins, so what they were in immaculate condition and always clean the site was quite busy with caravans tents and motorhomes but everyone was friendly and got on great. There were fresh eggs for sale from chickens that lived there and home made curry (we will try that next time) and also home made jam (we will have some of that next time as well). The actual site was the cleanest we have ever been to and the owners so welcoming. There was also quite a few dogs on the site but we never heard them at all (well done fellow campers). We wish we had found this site years ago as it buts most to shame, can't wait to go again soon as we also now store our van there.

It was a last minute decision to stay here and we are glad we did. The site is beautifully maintained. There is a fully fenced in area to exercise your dog, complete with bench. The site is surrounded by fields and there is a public footpath running along the edge. We didn't leave the site as we had everything we needed, there was even homemade chicken curry available as well as homemade cake, both of which we tried and enjoyed ( had cake twice). The only thing I would change is the amount of toilets as there are only 2 for ladies and 1 for men, they were very clean, the shower was clean and the water was hot. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

What most struck me about this site was the attention to detail the owners have put into it. It was very neat, very tidy, very organised and very clean. OK I went out of season when it was quiet but I could tell the owners took a pride in it. Its a level site with a few hard standings. Plenty of electric hook ups. A dedicated area properly fenced off for dogs. This was my second visit and the standard hasn't slipped. Small charge for the shower but not excessive. A quid per dog per night. There are a few rules which they make you aware of on arrival but none of them were intrusive. Plenty of local walks, and amusements for kids at the theme park and White Post Farm. Pub about half a mile away. There's even a bmx track on site. Good clean site.

Lovely, peaceful and well-tended and cared-for site. Very clean toilets/showers and excellent washing-up/fridge/drinking water/chemical toilet emptying area. Clear signage and lovely outlook. Proprieter very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely stay there again. Excellent. Walks to local villages and pub from site.
