A fantastic location for walking, suitable for both a walk into Keswick or a walk up the beautiful Blenthcartha. There are also a couple of really good pubs to visit in the village both doing great food.
We stayed here with our little dog, there are signs around site asking you to clean up after your dog. Obviously we always do, unfortunately the owners have 2 dogs that were free to roam around the site and use it as there there very own toilet and this was not cleaned up by the owners. We were warned when we arrived not to leave any food in the awning as the dogs would find a way in and eat it.
We were very unlucky with the weather and Keswick was hit by some of the worst weather the locals had ever seen. The locals were amazing and pulled together to clear the road of all the rubble that was being washed down it over night. We felt left down by the owners who never came to check to make sure we were all ok as the site was flooding or to advise us on the current situation. There was a lot of rubble washed down the drive and onto the site that we were left to clear ourselves to be able to get out of the site.

Just got home from three nights at this lovely campsite. Location is stunning, peaceful despite only being a short distance from the A66, and very well kept. The pitches are all serviced hard standings, gravel clippings and so ideal whatever the weather throws at you! They were quite the largest pitches we've ever stayed on, so no feeling hemmed in here. Only one toilet and shower for males and females but beautifully styled and spotlessly clean at all times and I never had to wait. Most importantly at this time of the year they were nice and warm too! It's a pleasant short walk along the bridle way to access the village itself, which means crossing the main road which was never a problem, once there the Horse and Farrier pub offers good food with fantastic views if you choose to sit outside. Very friendly and helpful farmer and his wife who work hard to make sure your stay is a happy one and we will definitely return. Thank you.

WOW. We booked this a few hours before arriving. We needed a base to work from as we work are Photographers. The site is in a stunning location just off a main road but far enough away from traffic noise. It is s small site with room for maybe 20 units. We did not use the facilities but if they match the site they must be lovely. Fully serviced and immaculate. The owners were truly lovely people who take huge pride in their site. Nothing was too much trouble, they even put on a 'how to catch a lamb ' show several times. Really hope to come back. Thanks for being so helpful

All pitches are hard standing, each with its own tap and grey waste drain, electric hook up and tv aerial point. So easy to get to off the A66 but very little road noise
Great location for keswick, plenty of walks from site include 3 pubs - only ate at the horse & farrier which was excellent,
Only one toilet and shower each for ladies and gents and the facilities they were spotless.
Very dog friendly and the owners were very laid back with very few rules

Enjoyed another couple of days at this great little site just a few miles outside of Keswick.
The site was full but facilities held out well.
Great pubs within walking distance.
Ideal base for fell walking.
Friendly and welcoming owners.
Good value @ £23 per night on busy bank holiday weekend.

A gem of a fully hardstanding site with superb 360 degree views of Lake District scenery
The site is easy to get to directly off a metalled road. All pitches are fully serviced and there is a warm modern male and female shower and wc facility
Directly from the site you are on dog friendly safe public footpaths which take you into Keswick and beyond.
There is an hourly bus service in either direction from the nearby village of Threlkelk to Keswick or Penrith.
You also have easy access to many high and Low Level walks from the site.
This really is a super site, and we will return many times in the future.
We highly recommended it to you

We spent the new year period at Threlkeld and it made a great base for enjoying the celebrations in the Lakes. The site was very busy and electricity struggled at times, but overall it held out fine.
This is a great small site and the owners are accommodating and helpful.
The local pubs are excellent. The Sally is good for beer and pizza; the Horse and Farrier is more upmarket with delicious meals and great beer.

We spent a few days here during the October half-term break and used it as a base for touring the lakes.
It's in a great location, just off the A66 and only a few miles from Keswick. It's also a great base for fell walking with Blencathra and other classic routes accessible from the site.
Facilities on site are spotless, though they may be stretched in busy periods as there's only one for men and one for women.
Good value - £20 per van.

Just returned from another enjoyable visit to this great site, very friendly couple Andrew and Tracy always helpful and time for a chat, facilities are spotless, great views from every fully serviced pitch, plenty of walks, good pub at Threlkeld, regular bus service to Keswick and Penrith, great walks from the site.
This was our third visit this year, peace and quiet, one of the best sites we have ever been to, can't wait for our Christmas visit

This site truly is a gem. We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay, the only problem. It wasn't long enough and we will return without hesitation.
All pitches are hard standing, each with its own tap and grey waste drain, electric hook up and tv aerial point. So easy to get to off the A66 but very little road noise. No long list of do's and don't which makes a refreshing change. No signs for dogs to be kept on leads, everyone just used their common sense. Fabulous views all around and plenty of walks directly from the site. Owners very helpful and friendly. Only one toilet and shower each for ladies and gents, from reading previous reviews I think there are plans to add extra which I think would definitely be beneficial although we never had to wait for the toilet or shower during our stay.
All in all, fantastic site and we will definitely return.
