This is a new small touring site set in an ideal location. It is just off the A66 and a five minute walk brings you to the village of Threlkeld. There are two excellent pubs here; the Horse and Farrier is a 'foody' place with superb dishes. The Sally, over the road, is a traditional pub serving excellent home cooked pizzas. There is also a golf course adjacent to the site and non members are welcome to play or use their club house.
Keswick is about 4 miles away and can be walked along the disused railway. Walks in the area are abundant: Blencathra can be started directly from the site.
Facilities on site are superb. The showers and toilets are modern and well maintained. Pitches are large, all with electricity and water points.
Great value at £20 a night.

What a gem! Can't fault the site or owners who are both very friendly and helpful re. Walks etc - I originally booked for 4 days but stayed for 9 - wud have Been longer but needed to go home but will b back very soon.
Facilities are excellent with water, waste water drain and 16amp hook up by side of pitch. Great for local amenities, bus to keswick every hour and views are stunning. My dog loved the nearby river.
Wanted to keep quiet about site but the owners deserve the reviews. Can't fault anything.

Spent 3 nights at Threkeld Hall and wished we had booked longer. It is a little gem of a site in beautiful surroundings and run by a delightful, helpful couple. Great care and attention has been given to the hard standing pitches with own hook up, water and waste point on each pitch. Lovely warm, modern showers and toilets complete the package. Situated close to Keswick and all that the area has to offer. Please visit, you won't be disappointed.

I'm not really one for leaving reviews but after visiting threlkeld hall for 9 nights from 6th September. I couldn't praise the site enough.
It has 7 pitches all of which are fully serviced and hard standing. And all have fantastic views.
The site is lovely and quiet with lovely clean facilities. The owners are really nice and helpful always wanting to make your stay as good as possible. The site is in an ideal location 14 mile from penrith and 4 miles from keswick.
Plenty of pubs within walking distance I recommend the white horse pub the food is superb and plenty of it. Not really a site for kids as there's no play ground or field to play on.

This is our second visit to this site, having tried it for a long weekend back in May.
The site is very easy to find at around 12 miles off the M6 at junction 40 (Penrith)towards Keswick.
There are 5 pitches on the site, but a couple more can be accommodated near to the toilet/shower facility. The pitches are very generous in size and with electric, water and grey water at the pitch, you couldn't ask for more. All the pitches are hardstanding and level, with plenty of room for your van, awning, car and room to sit out! The views are fantastic, even if the weather isn't great. We've enjoyed both the sunshine and pouring rain and the views constantly change.
The toilet and shower facilities (one of each for male and female) are new and finished to a good standard, and always clean.
The family are really nice and helpful and want your stay to be the best it can be.
It's an easy run into Keswick at 4 miles. There is a nice pedestrianised town centre with lots of outdoor shops and shops to get your everyday necessities. Access to Derwent Water is very nearby. Penrith is about 14 miles the opposite direction and has a new Sainsbury's, a Morrisons, Aldi and B&Q (should you need it). There's also a pleasant town centre to stroll through.
Lots of lovely walks in the area. On our last visit, we walked along side the river and back along the disused railway.
We'll certainly be back again. At the risk of increasing the popularity of this lovely peaceful site, and making availability more difficult, we'd certainly recommend it.

We stayed here for 11 nights (should have been 10 but the site - and weather- was so good we booked for an extra night). The site was full all the time we were there but the facilities were more than adequate and kept spotlessly clean.
The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful, it was a real pleasure to stay with them.
I booked a hardstanding pitch after last year's continuously soggy grass pitches, and we then had 11 glorious sunny days with no hint of rain! However, had the weather followed it's usual summer pattern, the hardstanding would have been a big bonus as access to the site and all pitches is made easy - no wheel-spinning on wet grass or mud oozing through the awning mat! In addition, the super-pitch facility means you don't need to get wet topping up the water barrel or emptying the waste!
Access in general is great - you turn straight off the main A66 down the farm drive/golf club road, but the site itself is behind a small dip so, as someone else has remarked, you get little or no road-noise - but you do get great panoramic views all round. The road to the golf club runs immediately behind the site, but this is a single-track road with very little traffic.
Three pubs within walking distance, plus the golf club, any number of walks from the doorstep if you don't want to use the car, and easy access to all the Northern Lakes and Solway coast if you do. Keswick is 10 minutes away by car with a great supermarket (Booths) and loads of little shops and cafes.
Probably not a site for small children, more for adults who enjoy a rural location and peace and quiet.
This is one of those sites that you really want to keep to yourself, but in the interests of the owners business flourishing, we decided to do the 'right' thing and tell you all about it. Can't recommend the site highly enough.

Having just moved from Devon to manage a caravan park in Stanhope & this being my first time in this part of the UK. I am determined to use my motor home to explore this beautiful part of England. Having no success on any parks in Keswick, I came across Threlkeld Hall, filled out my enquiry and shortly afterwards received a call from the site confirming one night being available. I packed up & with my 12 week old puppy Reef, an English Springer Spaniel drove to the campsite. On arrival we were greeted by a happy, smiley & friendly co/owner shortly afterwards by the other co/owner. They made us feel very welcome & gave me bundles of information about the area. The facilities were excellent for only 7 pitches, very clean & modern. 16 amp hook up with water tap. The 2 pubs were just a 5 min walk as was the adjoining Keswick golf course. I visited the Farrier Pub/Golf Club. Lunch was superb, recommend the Farrier Club Sandwich. Reef got lots of attention from the ladies. In the evening I had a bbq & soaked up the late sun & fantastic views. This site is for people who appreciate quietness & top views. Who needs Wi-Fi or TV when you have the views & sounds of the country. Strongly recommended. This site will only get better as the hedging & trees mature. I will be returning a few more times this season.

This is a super little site with stunning views all around you.
There are 5 main pitches plus 2 on an elevated part of the site; divided by shrubs and flowers, all of which are hardstanding/gravel and self sufficient with own electric hook up, fresh water & waste water provision. Chemical disposal is discretely hidden behind a little stone wall, away from caravans. The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate (there's 1 unit for males & 1 unit for females)
Nice to watch the little Lambs in the field that runs along the front of the caravans and our little girl especially loved Toby the horse. Lots of lovely walks from the site and there is a lush shallow river 5 minutes walk down the country lane - great for kids & dogs (we spent hours there)
It's a 5 minute walk to both Keswick Golf Club (cafe) and Threlkeld village which has 2 pubs, all of which are dog friendly.
Keswick (our favourite place) is less than 5 miles away and can be reached by car in about 5 minutes or by walking/cycling along the beautiful Threlkeld (disused) railway line.
The owners are lovely - there if you need them and full of local advice for days out/walks etc. Very dog friendly site too.
We are going back in the Summer :-)

We stayed here at the beginning of June. I am disabled & it was a great effort for me to travel so far but they were most obliging in a slight change in my date of stay (Friday to Friday instead of Sat).
They even offered to assist in putting up my awning despite never having done it before. Great thought has gone into developing this site & it shows with the only thing to take away from the pitch is the toilet *black water'.
Even when my wife was taken ill they offered to kennel my dogs.
To sum up, great site, great hosts & great facilities, only item I found to complain about was the smell of the fresh paint in the shower block. Thank you both for a great stay just wish I lived closer to come back again. Wish I could give you 11 out of 10!

A wonderful location with fabulous views and great weather.
We were given a very warm welcome from the owners.
The site is within walking distance of 2 dog friendly pubs that served delicious food.
The old railway line is nearby and was a lovely walk to Keswick with a picnic by the river on the way back. We will definitely visit again.
We would highly recommend Threlkeld Hall Touring Site for a visit.
