We stayed on this site for three weeks, with one day’s rain. The site has good access off the main road and the pitches were level, with hard standing and all services. The pitches were placed in such a way that no one blocked your views, which were excellent. The owners, Andrew and Tracey, were very friendly and helpful. There were good walks straight from the site and Keswick was only a short distance away for any shopping. We will definitely be back!

This must be the easiest site to get to. Wide main road from m6. Site is great and well located surrounded by mountains. Very tidy site and friendly owners made our week stay great. Fully serviced level and wide pitches (fresh and grey water with tv points) and good views appreciated. Main stores no more than 15 minutes away in Penrith although keswick is fine for all groceries. Newish toilet and showers (currently 1 each for men and women) just about enough but plans to build a couple more would be brilliant. We will certainly return on our next lakes visit. It is perfect for dog owners as there are walks direct from the site. Loved our stay. Thanks.

Just returned today from a lovely week at Threlkeld Hall. It is now my favourite site in the Lake District. Spotlessly clean, really large, fully serviced, hard standing pitches - including little touches like flower tubs and slate pitch markers. First time visitors but will certainly be back. Site owners were really lovely and helpful and always stopped for a chat (but by no means intrusive). Facilities were like new and we were told that they were going to try and put another set of toilets and showers in (so an added bonus there). Fantastic site and would thoroughly recommend to others (as long as not too busy that I cant get in !) Small site but perfectly formed.
As for the area - perfectly suited for touring the lakes. Lovely walks nearby if you have a dog (or small children) into Threlkeld village itself (can recommend the Horse and Farrier), or along the river bank (lovely little shallow areas - take a picnic on a sunny day and it would be bliss). Golf Club within walking distance and she does a good bar meal (but check opening times) - you don't need to be a member to eat there - lovely views sat out on the terrace. You can walk / ride along the disused railway into Keswick (about 4 miles - we didn't as older dog wouldn't make it). Ideal in that you are not having to go along the same windy road to get out before you travel anywhere - right on A66 but you wouldn't know it. Just be mindful that neither the site nor the Golf Club is well signposted - you just sort of come across the sign and the entrance is there. Keep an eye out for the sign that says 'Caution cows crossing' and it is just after that (if travelling towards Keswick)just before you get to Threlkeld. WE LOVED IT A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Approach - off the A66 so very easy to get to, would be really good if there was a sign warning you the campsite is in a couple of hundred yards. Good access to all pitches.
Staff on arrival - this site is on a working farm, the owners are really helpful and accommodating.
Pitch -The pitches are huge, plenty of room for the van, car and awning, and space to sit.
Facilities - Very nice and clean, one shower toilet and sink, for each male and female. I think there are plans to add showers, we were fine but there could be a wait when very busy. At the moment there isn't anything else here, like hair dryer or washing up area etc which again was fine for us and we knew that when we booked, and I think there are plans to add these in time.
Local area - there are two pubs serving good food a short walk from the site. You can walk along a disused railway line in Keswick. There are also lots of walks from the site as the website says.
In summary - well looked after site, clean facilities, stunning views, friendly owners, all round good site well worth staying at.
Was this site for us - yes we would go back without hesitation and we would recommend it. Its so peaceful and has a lovely feel to it. It's a new site I think in time it would be good if they developed an information sheet with a few do's and don'ts - not all dogs were kept on leads and a couple of people washed their vans, which lots of sites don't normally allow and maybe it could include directions to the pub, the nearest shop for milk etc. The owners are there to ask and very friendly but I felt that every time I saw them I had a list of question which with a little sheet of info I wouldn't have needed to keep asking.

Excellent site.
Just returned from three weeks at this site weather very good lovely view of Benclathra.
Site has recently increased its amount of pitches well spaced fully serviced also clean shower facilities we believe they are in the process of increasing the showers as only one shower each male and female work in progress as this is a new site.
The owners of the site very welcoming and they keep the site well maintained one area needs some more thought toilet disposal needs a roof over as it's open to the elements.
Nice walk across two fields to the village of Threkeld two pubs both serve food depends on plain food or something different I like something different can be quiet expensive.
We enjoyed our visit did not want to go home as so much to do in the area if you like the walks which we did.
The walk to Keswick via the old railway did three times something new to see every time
Would love to come back to this site long journey Severn and a half hours lovely site nice people.

Two adults stayed in a campervan for one night at the end of may with electric.
ON ARRIVAL:
We arrived to find a note on the door to tell us where to pitch as they had had to go out (we had arrived later than planned). They didn't come and hound us for money or anything when they returned, in fact we actually went up and found someone there so paid then.
PITCH:
The pitch was brilliant. Hard standing with 360 degree views of the hills surrounding it. We had plenty of room and could imagine even a large caravan with awning and car would have still had room.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
We wandered along a small road next to the site and found the golf club but it was sadly closed.
We decided to head into the small village nearby to find a pub for a drink. We walked along the main road (which would be quite scary at night I imagine) only to meet up with a couple we had exchanged pleasantries with at the campsite earlier. They explained a more 'scenic' walk to get back to the campsite which we did on the way home.
Just for a wee bit of information. It's not far from the Ullswater Steamers (about 5 miles) although we didn't test this out.
FACILITIES:
The toilets were part of a barn and had obviously just been newly completed. They were spotless and although I was concerned about the fact we only had one toilet in the ladies, I never really had to queue.
CONCLUSION:
We are quite new to campervanning so we are still finding nice places to stay and this one is certainly staying on our holiday list for the future.

Just returned from this lovely site and felt I had to leave a review. The views are stunning and there are loads of walks straight from the site for serious walkers/climbers or for those who just like a pleasant easy walk (its lovely down by the river). The site itself has had a lot of thought put into it with large pitches and full services to each pitch. The shower block is lovely, warm and always spotless and the owners are very friendly and helpful. They will hire tv aerial for £10 which you get back when you hand it in. The Sally and White Horse pubs are friendly and reasonably priced as is the golf club. We found the Horse and Farrier expensive. We will definitely be back - hopefully later this year. This is probably the best site we have ever stayed on.

This was our second visit to this superb site. The site is kept very clean and quiet as it is down away from the road.
They have added a toilet & shower block which is clean well maintained and warm.
We will be back next year without fail!
The pitches are very big with each having water/grey water drains.
There are great walks directly from the site and the 'Sally' providing good meals.

What an absolute gem! The site is well placed, not far from Keswick, and on a working farm. The pitches are spacious and gravelled with each pitch having drains, EHU and plenty of space for awnings. The shower blocks are warm, spotlessly clean and no constant button pushing for the showers! The owners, who are lovely, are increasing the number of pitches but in another part of the site so there is no chance of overcrowding. This site is well worth a visit, and if going into Keswick for a night out may I recommend Iain's Taxi's, a local company who are spot on, and cheaper than the rest, and take you to all the right pubs!

This visit was the first time we have used this site, it will be the first of many!
The owners of the site were friendly and helpful, the washroom facilities excellent, always clean
The pitches were laid out well, and all very spacious with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding area. Two local pubs selling good food with warm friendly atmospheres.
This is a jewel of a site, a definite must for breaks in the North Lakes, welovedit
