I must agree with the other comments. This is a wonderful site with stunning views and excellent facilities. Very dog friendly area. A great site for touring the Lakes. The owners are very helpful and keep the site lovely and clean. The village pubs are great and the food is second to none and they also have wifi should you want it. We definitely would recommend this site to anyone and we will certainly be back next year.

Recently stayed here for 5 nights @ £20pn. All pitches are clearly marked and have their own electricity, water and waste.
Owners Tracy and Andrew were great and very welcoming. There were new shower and toilet block one for women and one for men. These were always very clean and plenty of hot water for showers.
You can walk to Keswick via the old railway which was about 5 miles then got a taxi back cost £9. Another day we got the bus from Threlkeld village £6 return each. There are two pubs in Threlkeld however we thought these were a bit expensive. We did walk up to the Golf Club with the dogs and made very welcoming.
We will defo return next year and would recommend to anyone who wants peace and quiet.

Just returned from three nights at Threlkeld Hall Touring Site and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place if you're in a campervan, motorhome or caravan. Situated on a working farm it now has 7 fully serviced pitches - the two latest ones are slightly higher up near the entrance and have commanding views over the countryside.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, pointing out places to walk the dog and giving us information about the local pubs in Threlkeld village, which is a couple of minutes walk away. Speaking of pubs, both the Horse & Farrier and The Sally are fine pubs and both are dog friendly.
There's plenty of walks straight out of the campsite as mentioned by other reviewers. You have Clough Head in front while Blencathra sits behind the site. There's also a riverside walk which links to the disused railway walk which goes all the way in to Keswick. Keswick as a town surely needs no introduction.
A recently completed toilet/shower facility is situated in a converted barn and although there is only one loo, sink and shower in each side, as the site only caters for 7 units at most it is probably enough. One criticism was that the shower lacked water pressure but this may be due to the area and out of anybody's control. The facilities were always kept clean and tidy. The site does lack a pot washing area but again as it is only catering for touring vehicles it's probably not an issue for most people.
It's a very peaceful campsite and it's natural surroundings are its major selling points. For us personally it's location was perfect. Village pubs and good walks are close by, towns are a short drive or bus journey away.
We will return again to this site and would recommend it highly.

We have just returned from spending 4 nights at this fantastic site.
So peaceful & with great views.
The fully serviced pitches are well sized and give a seclusion from the other pitches. Full recycling on the site.
We will certainly be booking again for another visit.
Although close to the A66 there is little or no road noise as the site is in a dip.
The disused railway track makes an easy and colourful 5 mil walk into Keswick with the 3 pubs in Threlkeld offering good food and friendly atmosphere.
We don't have children so cannot comment on the facilities however the site is well away from any road and there are open fields all around

This is a perfect, quiet and secluded site. The site only opened last year, and a lot of thought has gone into each of the 5 pitches, all of which are hard standing, a generous size, and each with its own water supply and waste water drain. A shower block is currently being added. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We cycled into Keswick along the old railway line (about 4 miles from the site). If you do this, there are cycle racks to leave your bike at outside the leisure centre, and also outside a great Veggie restaurant called The Lakeland Pedlar. Would definitely recommend a visit to this site!

Very pleased to find this touring site! Close to Keswick with easy access from A66 makes this a great site to tour the lakes from. Made to feel very welcome by the owner who was keen to make sure we had everything we needed! 5 pitches all with good hard standing individual services for each pitch all with a great view! Soon to come will be a toilet and shower block which will be very welcome! A great walk into Keswick along a nearby disused railway track was perfect to keep the dogs happy too! I'm sure we will be back again.

This is the best 5 pitch site we have been on. It is ideally sited for the North Lakes and Keswick is less than 5 miles down the road.
At the moment this site does not have a toilet/shower block but the owners are working hard at this present time, whilst we were there they were laying the waste water pipe but if you are self contained there is not a problem as the pitches are all fully serviced with 16A hook ups and drinking water tap and grey waste drain on each pitch.
The owners are so friendly and helpful, anything you want to know they are more than willing to help you out.
The views around the site are second to none. Its so peaceful and so easy to get to as it is off the A66. The local village of Threlkeld as 2 pubs, we only used the Horse and Farrier where the service and food was excellent and dog friendly. The other pub The Salutation Inn is owned by the same family as the Horse and Farrier.
As for this gem of a site there is nothing bad you can say about it. There are plenty of walks straight off the site and of course the golf club further down the drive.
We have already booked to return later this year and more than likely be back before then.

What a great little site. Not affiliated to either of the big clubs, this is a cl/cs in all but name. There are 5 extra wide pitches. Big enough to take a caravan, a full width awning and still leave ample space to put your vehicle alongside. Each pitch has its own illuminated bollard with EHU, cold water tap and grey waste drain. The hundreds of tons of gravel put down ensure that the pitches remain puddle free and drain really quickly.
There are lovely touches everywhere such as laurel hedges planted between each pitch, a cumbrian slate number marker, a square planter to mark each bay filled with flowers and plants and shrubs scattered around the site. The chemical disposal is nicely disguised by a local stone wall.
The village of Threlkeld is only about half a mile away with two pubs (one with a good reputation for food) and The White Horse Inn at Scales is about three quarters of a mile away in the other direction.
The site is easily reached on a good road with a widened entrance, just look out for the Keswick golf club sign.
What for us gives this site its star rating is the friendliness of the owners, the outstanding scenery and the peace and quiet.
