Have stayed at this site three times this year, Early May, end of May and July. The only problems were at the end of May when the water went off for 36 hours, which the site manager says was not their fault, although we have been led to believe otherwise. Unfortunately nobody was kept informed of what was happening, which did cause upset.
Having said that, this is a lovely site, which would benefit from a little shop selling milk, bread etc. The toilets/showers are kept clean, but it would be better if there were soap available in the toilets. The washing facilities are good.
Very near to Criccieth which can be walked where there are a few nice pubs and shops. Porthmadog is a short drive away, where there is a big Tesco.
Lots of nice places to visit in this area. No doubt we will be back next year !

We stayed on this site on the first bank holiday weekend of May, lovely clean site, small play area with swings and a slide for kids. Brilliant field to play football or some people were flying kites.
Only a mile from Criccieth for restaurants, pubs, Spar shops, Garage (Londis) and the beach, fantastic beach.
Lovely, fresh and clean toilets and showers. 3 showers and about 6 or 7 ladies toilers (presume the men are the same!)
Clean and warm and the site is very clean too. Loads of washing facilities for clothes and dishes.
Good location.

Have just returned from this site and I have to say it was the worst camping experience I have ever had. There was no water for about 36 hours - initially this may have been beyond the owners control- but there were terrible problems with the toilets and showers for the rest of the weekend. No notices or updates though.
Had an EHU for the tent, fine on the first night, went off during the evening on both other nights and stayed off until morning - until 11am on one day! Flatly refused refunds.
Have visited this place before and was comfortable with returning but they seem to have expanded and I feel that the normally clean facilities are no longer adequate. Play area is appalling and the site roads do not suit disabled, kids bikes etc.
Criccieth is a very nice place to visit but unless you have a self sufficient unit and bring your own water, I'd avoid it if you have a young family.

Stayed just 1 night, turned up without booking(weather was great so decided to stay longer) and was advised to pitch where we liked(site was quiet). Were charged £9 for a two man tent and £2.50 for the EHU. Toilet blocks was spotless and heated(showers are free and there are good washing up facilities). We pitched near a hedge, but would imagine that if the wind picks up you would be very exposed in the middle of the site) spent all day in Portmerion(good food and fantastic views from the estate). Would recommend (don't be put off that its 'just off the main road' as it is a long drive up the hill to the site, so you do not hear traffic). Great views and would not hesitate to recommend. P.S don't have children so have put n/a.

Stayed just the one night but a very enjoyable stay.
The tent field is relatively flat and one or two trees offer a bit of shelter if the wind picks up (which is only to be expected, given the magnificent views from the site across to Tredmadoc Bay).
A straightforward walk into Criccieth, just over a mile away, but with loads of free parking in the town, it's just as easy to drive.
Charged £10 for my wife and I in the tent, plus £3 for 13 year old son; good value; unlimited hot water and (free) showers in the new block. OK, so not a 5 star site but more than adequate for a night or two stay.
No shop on site but with Criccieth so close (and Porthmadog a few miles away the other way - Tesco, Aldi, Lidl) I wouldn't consider that a problem.
We turned up early afternoon and the site wardens were not around, but no problem. The note on the window told us to pitch up and pay later; a most friendly couple I might add!

Just returned from this site. We stayed for four nights and paid £17 per night (caravan with hook-up, 2 people and a dog), which was very reasonable.
The owners were welcoming, and took us to our pitch (we were given the choice of 3 or 4 pitches).
The site is lovely, and the pitches are quite big. It is a bit hilly, but some of the pitches have a small pit in them which levels the caravan if the wheels are placed right.
There is a dog-walk, and a climbing frame in the middle for kids.
The newish toilet facilities are very good, although the cleaning left a bit to be desired (there was dirt and debris on the shelves in the showers which was still there at the end of our stay).
Criccieth is about 1 and a half miles away, and the walk back is quite steep (especially after a meal and a few pints!)There is a Spar and a few pubs that do food in the town. The bus service is good (there is a stop about 500 yards from the entrance to the site, but a very nice driver dropped us right outside!)
The weather was awful during our stay, and the site is quite exposed, so we were kept awake some nights by the wind and rain battering the van!
All in all this was not a bad site, but unfortunately, we probably didn't see the site and Criccieth at its best due to the grotty weather!

Just arrived back from a fabulous 2 night stay at possibly one of the nicest camp sites in north wales. The view of the ocean and Harloch bay is fantastic, the new toilet blocks are spotless and well serviced with a warm shower and plenty of privacy. We found the site busy but very peaceful even though there were dog owners and families. Also the site manager was very warm and friendly. At £12 per night we couldn't have found a better spot to pitch up!

We have been here 3 times but not been lately due to my dad being terminally ill(he died a few weeks ago).
We Love this site It is Clean, Friendly, Cheap and views are Fantastic. We came for 2weeks and found it so relaxing, then we came with our Children & grandchildren then again with my daughter.
We Love Criccieth & I've camped in this area every year since I was 6mths old with my Family in a tent & now using a touring Caravan there's lots to see including of course the Castle which is well worth the money, We saw dolphins from the top of the hill last time we went round the Castle and the Sea is so clean and clear for Paddling, Swimming or going out in a boat or as we do taking your own dingy just don't forget your sunscreen as salt water and the sun can give you sunstroke as my dad found out when we spent the entire day going out in the dingy.
The shops are cheap with lots of variety, there is a lovely gift shop by the side of the main car park which has loads of different items and you are really spoilt for choice I love spending time in there and always come home with lots of presents for everyone and reminders of my holiday, and of course you have to buy Rock and Fudge.
The Cafes and Pubs are all well kept, clean and Friendly and good value for money and the Food is Lovely, we have found over the years that if something is not on the menu and you really wanted it if you ask they will try their best to get it for you.
One time we arrived late at night as were stuck in traffic so was too tired to cook and a hotel even reopened the kitchen again for us and made us a meal as we had popped in to ask if they knew of anywhere still open for food which there was not so they said sit down and tell us what you want and we will sort it for you.
There are plenty of other places to visit for days out which are not too far to get to and very cheap. I would recommend anyone to visit here you don't know what your missing we are certainly coming back again and again.

Have just returned from this site - our second visit in 2 years. Now that the new toilets and showers are in place, I think that this is one of the best little sites. The views are magnificent and it is within driving distance of lots of lovely places. All it needs now is a little shop. Fantastic site. We will definitely be back.

I've been visiting this site since before I was born. My Mum and Dad started going when my Mum was carrying me. After all those years they've actually got around to changing the toilets (I'm 52 now). That's not to say that this isn't the best site in the area because it is and it always has been. The new toilet blocks and showers are second to none and the owner keeps them very clean. The views are fantastic and that's something money can't buy. Speaking of money, I think this is the cheapest site in the area too. There's a small play area for the kids and the pet dog is welcome. The only downer is that the site is on a bit of a slope but if you look carefully you can usually find somewhere even enough. I'll be back there again at the end of May with a new tent.
