Great site with lovely views. Very hilly so take blocks. Clean new showers and toilets, although the water pressure was terrible (I am 6'2' had to run around to get wet).
A great base for Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula. Cricceth is very close and has nice pubs, shops and restaurants. Try Lllanbedrog beach if you like a nice quiet beach that is well sheltered.
All in all we will return. Thank-you

We've just been this Easter but due to the cold, snow and high winds we only lasted one night before giving it up as a bad job and going home (and yes we were the only tent there). 2 people & 1 tent was £9.00 for the night.
The main reason for adding this review is that most previous reviews point out the basic toilet facilities. I am pleased to say that the new toilet are now in place in the form of 2 very large brand spanking new static caravan/portacabin type affairs. In the gents there is 3 urinals, 5 toilets, 5 washbasins with mirrors and 3 FREE showers. You can't set the temperature of the shower (it's just a press button) but we did not have chance to test the showers due to the short length of our stay! There is also a separate disabled room / toilet and another room with washing up facilities in (3 sinks).
The view of the sea / mountains I think would have been good but we only saw rain, mist & snow. Will hopefully return back to the campsite in better weather.

We went Bank Holiday weekend in August. Site got fairly busy, but not overcrowded.(slightly sloped field). The toilets/showers are ancient (1 shower for men, 1 shower for women) although we did see the site for the new shower blocks - with a few more new showers/toilets and a small shop this would be an excellent site. The views are fantastic and it is in a good location. The owner/farmer is on the ball and actually asked people to leave who were excessively noisy.

Just returned from this site. Its cheap, £8 per night for me and my two sons in a 4 berth tent. Toilets in need of updating, very very basic and one shower that takes tokens. Tended to be a noisy site But after saying that, it's cheap, it's pretty flat and the views are fantastic. If your up for roughing it its worth a try.

Lovely, peaceful & quiet. Breathtaking views. Coast one side, mountains the other. Site is sloping, but hook ups are edged round the field, so not too bad. However tents go in the middle of the field and it does slope. Dogs allowed, barbecues allowed. Shower block not up too much - 1 shower is not enough (50p for 4 minutes!), but hey, more than made up for by position. Plans underway for a new shower block. Lots of space between vans. No shop etc but you're only down the road from Criccieth one way and Porthmadog the other. Small play area for the little ones and we had a great time. If you want a peaceful relaxed site - this is for you. Going back in a couple of weeks - hands off our pitch!

August 2005 A very basic site. Tokens required for the 1 shower in both the ladies and gents, when we arrived there were none available. Only stayed for 2 nights. Facilities ok, nothing to write home about. The site is very cheap. The only redeeming feature is the beautiful view. It does look as though they are trying to improve the look of the site and there are a few new luxury chalets being built.

August 2005 If you like it basic, no fuss and laid back, you'll love this site. It has an absolutely fantasic panoramic view - sea to one side and rolling hills and mountains to the rest. The owner was really helpful and friendly, and let us know what we could do in the area. Nearby Criccieth (walkable in 20mins) is a super little seaside town with some jolly decent restaurants (recommend booking!) Porthmadog is about 10 mins away by car, but has a superb Gelert camping outlet on the outskirts for all those things you didn't realise you needed! Snowdon is only 40 mins dirve ways so lots to do and this site is a great base for all of them.
The site has a slight slope and very hard ground, the shorter alloy pegs did the trick. We only intended to stay a couple of nights but ended up staying the whole week because it was quiet beautiful and relaxed. Oh and during the week you get free air show displays from hawks courtesy of RAF Valley on nearby Anglesey. It doesn't really get any better!

august 2003 Found this site after trying many on the spur of the moment on the bank holiday. Not much really to shout about but all that was there was seperate mens/womens toilets and shower blocks(20p for shower)a couple of outside taps, fields for the dogs and a big skip for rubbish but only stayed one night and did not relly explore all the site. The prices were really cheap to pitch there (2 adults 3 kids 2 dogs...£7.50) but like I say there was nothing there... Owner was friendly and helpful and was a quiet laid back site.
