This site is local to ourselves.
I have been here on many occasions and never been disappointed.
It is a little 'gem' just outside the M25.
Ideal for visiting London, with Brentwood and Shenfield BR stations a short car journey away, allowing you to travel to Liverpool Street.
It is peaceful and ideal for families. The toilet block is extremely clean and sufficient, even when the site is full. There are plenty of eating places nearby (pubs etc) and some local take aways offer a delivery service to the camp-site.
A tranquil site in a pretty location.

Just returned from a superb weekend at Kelvedon Hatch.
It was our first trip to this site and it is definitely on our 'will go back' list.
On arrival we were shown to our tent pitch - plenty big enough, if a tad short of grass in places. Staff were very welcoming.
Kids were away and enjoying the safe woodland surroundings and making friends in no time at all.
Facilities are really quite good. It is true that the shower block is old, but very clean and functional all the same. Washing up facilities good and an on site laundry room is useful for those on longer stays.
Nice quiet site, but not too quiet, something I look for in a trip. I want the kids to be able to have fun whilst respecting others on the site. They were able to do that at Kelvedon Hatch and the other families while we were there were very friendly.
Excellent value for money.
Looking forward to our return!

This was our first camping experience since childhood so decided not to go too far afield (45 miles but once there we could have been anywhere!). The site is great, very quiet yet pubs, shops and Chinese Restaurant (Joy Fook - can recommend) close by.
Toilet block, showers and washing up facilities were very good and much better than we had expected. We got a very friendly greeting and were shown to our pitch straight away. Our little boy loved the woodland areas, found lots of new friends to play with and was very disappointed to have to come home.
All in all an excellent first experience and I know we will be visiting again and again.

Very friendly welcome, was shown pitch by site manager on his bike.
Toliets and shower blocks are a bit dated but clean, water very hot and showers powerful.
Dog walk was ok bit small, also still had to be kept on a lead.
This was our first trip in the new caravan and had a fantastic stay my only complaint was with the wifi as this is only available in certain areas on the site.
Would go back

Great little site. Clean and tidy. Quiet at night. Left to get on with chilling out. Toilets are ok, clean etc, but dated and could do with an extra shower or two, especially in hot weather. Powerful, hot showers. Lots of washing up facilities - although some were hidden! Plenty of hot water there too. Barely saw the kids as they were off making dens and riding their bikes around this lovely little site. Local to us and will definitely go back.

This has been our 2nd visit to this site and we plan to make this our base for our local stays in our tourer.
If you are looking for somewhere to just chill out and be peaceful this is it.
The blocks for toilet, shower and changing facilities are absolutely spotless and the small but peaceful surroundings are ideal for families or couples who really just want to be busy doing nothing.
Just to note the manager and his wife are the most amenable couple and are very welcoming.

This was our 1st camping trip and we used this site as our 'trial' experience.
We arrived (2 ads 2 kids) at approx 6pm. We were greeted by the warden who made us feel very welcome. He could tell we hadn't been camping before and was very helpful and advised us that not to worry as there are several take-aways that deliver to the site. He walked us to our pitch.
We had come for some family bonding but 10 minutes after we arrived they made friends and we didn't see them again unless they wanted feeding! They enjoyed the playground (only a couple of swings and a climbing frame thing) but they seemed to amuse themselves. Our pitch was nicely located close (but not too close) to the toilets and had a nice view into the playground so we didn't have to worry that they couldn't be seen.
Our pitch was slightly sloping but that didn't present a problem. Toilets / Shower block were spotless and nice smelling! Good washing up facilities. Reception sold a few essentials (washing up liquid etc).
Site was well looked after and could not fault it. Although only 20 mins from our house would not hesitate to go back there.
Highly recommended!

Having read the other reviews, I did not imagine that this site would be as good as it was!
The wardens were friendly and walked us to our pitch on arrival. Pitch size was perfectly adequate.
The showers and toilets were immaculate, and could possibly have just had a repaint, as they were much better state than others have described. Washing up facilities were also immaculate, and there are quite a few sinks which makes a very refreshing change. At no point did we need to queue for any of the facilities.
Rubbish was collected every morning, so site was clean and clear. We don't have children so I can't comment too much on the playground, but there were a couple of climbing frames.
Lots of places to walk in the surrounding areas, and also some nice pubs. As it's our local C&CC site, we'll definitely be back, having put it off for a while due to previous reviews, but now we've seen what it's like, we'll definitely be going back!

Second time out in how caravan went to this site
With our granchildren. Its a great place for the kids we found it to be very safe with no boy racers easy to get to we came on the onger road toilets are very clean. Showers were great hot and power full
Staff were friendly
Nice surroundings little park for kids could do with a bit more stuff in it
Pitches were good Price was good All in all loved the place will be going back as much as we can
All the other caravanners and campers were very friendly ( even the older ones )
This is how I saw it might not be to every ones taste

Small site and our pitch had somewhat hard ground. Not the best CCC site! Toilet and shower block in desperate need of a refurb and a little dirty. Easy to find and a pleasant welcome but overall a little unkempt. Play ground was also a bit lacking, as were the general facilities. Close to some small shops and only a short drive to Brentwood town centre.
