We stayed here for a few nights, we arrived and were driven round to our pitch, the man siting our tent tried to put us on a corner plot at the bottom of a slope which was incredibly muddy, we refused and insisted on something in a better position, he was very accommodating and found us a better pitch,
The pitches were very close together!
We had only been at the site 3 hours when the heavens opened, the poor layout of the site meant that because it was a flash storm it flooded very quickly, in fact our tent was standing on a water bed, when you opened the door of the tent the water was just running down the hill.
The clubhouse had to be closed on the same night due to water leaking through the light fittings!
We were lucky enough to not be flooded but many of the surrounding tents were knee deep in water, the staff were very unhelpful, to the point that several families ended up booking into a local hotel for the night.
The next day I attempted to use the on site launderette, which isn't listed on the map, spent ages trying to ask someone and they sent me to the other site, eventually someone pointed me in the right direction, the iron didn't work and the instructions were incorrect.
The following day I attempted to use the showers, but was informed there was no running water on the site, this was enough for us really, after 3 days we had had enough plus we heard there was another storm on its way and didn't fancy round two so we packed up and left.
Its a shame really. With better staff and a bit of maintenance it really could be a lovely site but it just feels like nobody is interested.
Something drastic would have to happen for us to visit this site again

We stayed at the 'quieter' Bure village. On arrival we were directed to the neighbouring Yare village to check in. Reception staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We were allocated our pitch and given a welcome pack which included our entertainment passes and info about the two resorts. The information could have been better, it didn't include times for the pool or any info about the local area. Although the staff where very knowledgeable when asked.
We drove down to Bure village to find our pitch and was met by the touring warden who showed us our pitch. We had in my opinion the worse pitch, right next to the toilets & bins. We did ask to swap but being the summer holidays it wasn't possible as the park was very busy. To give the reception staff credit they did try very hard to swop us. If you are staying here do some research and try to pre book one of the better located pitches.
The pitches themselves are quite small, 6mX6m as advised on booking. However almost all the tents were bigger and encroached on the neighbours pitch meaning that guy ropes were next to each other and there was no way the 6m legal required gap between tents cars etc. We didn't have much grass just a dry muddy patch.
The toilets and showers were adequate, they are cleaned very early in the morning so got quite dirty. Don't forget flip flops! The showers were hot however they are the really annoying push for 10 seconds of water. Also there are no showers curtains and the floor gets very wet making it hard to get dressed and stay dry. There was always plenty of toilet roll but no soap in the ladies. There is plugs for straighteners etc and a hairdryer which used tokens. There is also a launderette with washing machines and driers and a wash up area. Although the site was fully booked we didn't have to wait for anything and although we right next to the toilets we weren't really disturbed by people.
Generally its a very quiet site with most people spending the day out and going to bed early. The swimming pool is good, never too crowded and very observant life guards. Be aware though that it shuts at 5pm! the play area is also Ok, kept my two (3 & 6yrs) entertained. The entertainment centre is only open on Friday and Saturday.
I cant really comment on the Yare Village as we only walked through it. I did certainly seem a lot busier and bigger.
The surrounding area is fantastic. Two pubs within walking/cycling distance. Lots of great bike rides/walks. The old castle remains is a nice easy stroll. Great Yarmouth is a 1o min drive, Gorleston beach is fab. Also very close is Africa Alive & Pleasurewood Hills.

We booked to stay here for a weekend, arriving late was not a problem, which was a good start. We had read reviews and took notice of the advice that if you want a quiet stay, opt for Bure Village but choose Yare Village if you want to be near the entertainment. After booking in at the reception in Yare Village, we were sent a little further up the road to Bure Village It is a ten minute walk between the two sites but they do run a taxi service which you book through the security guys apparently.
Bure Village has an indoor pool, small shop (very hot in there, not sure how it affects the food being sold), a gym, reasonable toilet/shower facilities and a small club house. There are currently three rows of pitches, all with electric hook up. The pitches are of a good size. One row is to the left of the road into the touring area whilst the other two rows are either side of a sandy/stone track through the middle of the pitches, which gave a nice feeling of space. One block of toilets is very old fashioned and has no showers. The other block is on one end of the entertainment building and I have to agree with some previous comments about the showers; having to keep pressing the button in every few seconds was frustrating; in three cubicles there was a plastic chair to put your clothes on, but not in the others and it was impossible to get dry since the water gathered on the floor and didn’t drain away. Plenty of hot water. Everything is just tired and needs updating. Even the shower/changing area in the pool smelt ‘stale’. The pool itself was lovely and a welcome chance to cool down over such a hot weekend.
Out of curiosity we ventured to the Yare Village touring site, and oh, what a difference. It just looked a mess and was very noisy, music playing quite loud from a couple of cars. Very relieved that we were not staying on this part! There were ‘rows’ but the units seemed too close together in places, not 6m apart. We couldn’t find the view as shown in the photo on the link, that must be somewhere else.
The area itself is nice; we had a lovely walk along the river where we found the Fisherman Pub where they do meals and serve a nice pint of IPA from the keg. The castle is just the outer walls now but interesting to have a look at. To get to the river, take the tarmac road to Burgh Marina and follow it to the end and you can then walk to Yarmouth apparently. Nice to watch the boats passing. We had a lovely weekend finished off with a walk on the beach at Gorleston which is about a ten minute drive away.
My husband felt that the reviews were a bit harsh because generally it is a nice site. Bure Village was very quiet and relaxing and provided a very enjoyable weekend.

Have recently returned from a 3 night break with my Husband and 3 children and sister with her 2 children.
We had a lovely break and were fortunate enough to have great weather.
We were greeted by Gary who was very helpful and gave us a choice of pitches and showed us where the amenities were. Reception staff were helpful and polite.
The shower block was adequate and there was always hot water, however it could have been cleaner!
We did not eat at the resturant, but did use the evening club house which the children really enjoyed but was always full! I imagine it being a very sweaty place to be in the height of the season!
We never used the indoor pool at Bure but the children loved the outdoor pool at Yare even though it was a bit cold until your body acclimatized.
Other campers were friendly and considerate bar 1 who was very rude to my 6yr old son for trying to retrieve his ball near the mans barbq.
However, a great time had by us all and would return again!

Great location. Went with my dog and had some nice walks, behind the campsite is a field which has the ruins of a roman fort. Lots of access to fields and to a tow path running along the Norfolk broads.
Plenty of shower blocks and plenty of hot water.
Toilets cleaned early in the day and left very wet so got muddy and dirty quickly.
Used the indoor swimming pool which was nice the only bad points were that the shower in the ladies (only 1) just gave out a dribble of water and there was no hair dryer.
Didnt sample the entertainment but people I spoke to that did said it was good.
Arrived Monday chose my own pitch, nice people felt very safe with just me and my dog. Tuesday night drama as a couple on the camping field had a big row which lasted about 3 hours. Not the campsites fault but could have been nipped in the bud if security walked round to check all ok at night.
Wednesday, Thursday lovely relaxing days.
Friday new campers arrived, too many for the pitches available. Tent next to me parked their car between our tents, definitely not 6 meters. Another camper couldn't park their car next to their tent as another tent had been put inches away. Mentioned this to security who laughed and said they knew but it wasn't their job. Didnt see any ground staff after that.
New arrivals next to me came back at 12.30am drunk. Swearing, using very vulgar language and slamming car doors til gone 2am when one of them started being sick in his tent, lovely to listen to. A fellow camper did speak up and say he had young children could they keep it down but they ignored him and seemed to get off on upsetting people, very aggressive and inconsiderate. Still no security to help sort things out.
Ended up leaving Saturday afternoon (day early) as didn't feel safe anymore and the atmosphere had changed from being relaxing to tense.
Friday night was very noisy, lots of screaming and shouting. A window was broken and an alarm was set off which went on for ages.
It seems popular place for stag & hen parties and party goers at the weekend.
Great during the week but avoid weekends if looking for a relaxing break.

Camped on a service pitch for 6 nights in hi season.2 adults and 2 teen boys.
We had the choice of staying at either of the sister sites and chose the smaller but quieter Bure village.
Reception staff absolutely clueless or at best uninterested in sorting out anything other than trying to push you into seeing the on site sales staff for static caravans.
The touring pitches (camping and caravans) are on the small side (with a very dusty center track separating the two rows) but are at least flat with power outlets close to each pitch.
Bure village toilets are acceptable and numerous though the men’s had no handwash soap for the full duration of our stay. The wash up rooms are acceptable and again numerous but have no plugs in the sinks. The shower block is clean but the showers themselves are the timed pushbutton type found in most leisure center pools - not the easiest way to have a full shower pushing a button every 10 seconds whilst foaming in shampoo- the men’s block never seemed to have more than lukewarm water.
Site shop opens 8am till 5pm (if you need more than the basics go to Asda or Tesco a 10 minute car ride away). Laundry on site with washers and dryers (great for wet towels). Bure has a good gym facility and a great indoor pool with lifeguards open till 530pm when the pool is used for mother and toddler classes.
Park website advertises the use of both sister sights with entertainment on both sites - not quite true! Bure clubhouse only opens on Friday and Saturday evenings (even during high season) so if you fancy a pint you have to walk the 400yrds to the Yare site- not too much of a problem until you have to trek back in the dark (unlit road).Yare entertainment complex consists of an outdoor pool and aquaslide, arcade, costa coffee booth, restaurant and bar/clubhouse.
The coffee is great the pool is great in fact the entire building is great. We never ate here so I can’t comment on the food. The clubhouse is way too small for the number of users but after the kid’s entertainment closes you may strike lucky and find a seat. The main entertainment acts were of a good quality especially the Madness tribute band.
On the whole the Yare site is much larger and also much louder than the sister Bure site - if you want a good nights sleep stay at Bure and walk down to Yare for the evening (remember to take a torch with you for the walk home though).
These 2 sister sites offer good value for money loud and busy if you want or quiet and peaceful if that’s what you desire- the best of both worlds if you ask me.
Both sites make a good base for exploring the area, Great Yarmouth is a 5 mile car ride away and if you love a beach holiday try Gorleston (perfect for the kids) and here the carparking is free. The broads are a few minutes away – I love the windpump at Horsey a National trust area.

Stayed at Yare village. Being virgin campers we and friends decided on Breydon water for the facilities and child friendliness.
We arrived a day after the rest of the party and found they had been advised to pitch on the overflow site which had the advantage of no traffic so the 8 children could play to there hearts content, there was also a play park which was safe a well used. The only downside to the overflow area is the lack of grass and proximity to the waste skips which did attract wasps
The onsite shop is well stocked with a good selection of products. We did not use the onsite bar or restaurant but our friends did and were not impressed although the nearby pub did a good selection of food. Both the indoor and outdoor pools shut at 5.30pm which seems a bit early in the summer holidays. The shower blocks are clean until about 9am and it is downhill from there on with a complete lack of toilet roll.
Breydon water is a good base camp to explore norfolk but for the £30 a night we paid for our pitch I would have hoped for cleaner facilities at least. With just a little effort this site could go from just below average to very good.

Have just returned from 5 nights at Bure Village and we had a lovely time. We have 3 boys and they enjoyed the park area where our eldest played football constantly, however it is a really dusty park with little grass so they came back filthy!
The showers are a complete pain, although clean for the most part they only work for about 8 seconds at a time and it is impossible to completely dry yourself or prevent your clothes from getting wet. I read this in another review and didn't think it would matter to me but it really did! The Yare Village site is much busier and noisier - I am glad we didn't stay there but it is down a busy road and we walked back at 10pm one night and there is no lighting so that was a bit of an experience. The staff are helpful but there is a slight lacksadasical approach - nothing seems to start or open on time. The toilets at the complex were dodgy - there was rarely toilet roll and although they were basically clean they became really untidy over the day. The only other annoying thing is that they only had about 6 golf clubs for the crazy golf and people seemed to take them out all day so I spent 5 days off and on trying to hire the equipment. The staff didn't seem to care that this system didn't work so it was a bit frustrating.
Overall though we had a great time, my boys had archery lessons, swam, played five a side football and joined in with the Sparky Club (Kelly and Jasmine were brilliant!) We ate in the restaurant which was reasonable and always clean and tidy. It does miss a takeaway or at least somewhere to grab a snack in the evenings. There is nowhere to eat at all on Bure Village but the shop is well stocked and only slightly above normal prices. I would definitely go back, but with my own golf clubs!

Have just returned from a four night break at Breydon Water with two other families.
Unfortunately, because it was quite busy and we wanted pitches together, we had to pitch up in the over flow field. This was ok, a little overgrown and uneven but bearable and it meant the 14 children we had between us had as much room as they wanted to play.
The weather was fantastic, staff were friendly and the play park was brilliant for the younger children. The swimming pools were lovely although the outside pool could do with some repair work on the edging as the broken areas were quite sharp and dangerous. The food served in the on site pub wasn't great, the orders were all wrong and staff are soo slow!
The only bad points were the place was over-run with wasps and the toilet and shower blocks were very dirty and there was never any loo roll. The cleaner came round a few times a day but never did more than mop the floor.
We visited a lovely pub just ten minutes walk away and had a very nice meal.
If you visit Breydon Water take your own loo roll, toilet wipes and flip flops to wear in the shower. Oh! and don't forget your wasp swatter!
Relax in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, a walk round the grounds and to see the castle ruins is a must!

We camped here for a long weekend and had a lovely time. The location of the site is super for trips into Yarmouth or the broads.
The campsite itself was ok. The toilet blocks weren't great and not that clean, though I saw them being cleaned quite often, people didn't seem to look after them. There were plenty of showers, so no waiting. Showers were also free and free hairdryer too. There is a large washing up area, though was tricky with no plugs and only press down taps.
The indoor swimming pool was lovely and from 9-10 every morning it was adults only. We went each morning and it wasn't ever busy.
The club is small and the drinks seemed over priced and the entertainment wasn't great(lots of kids entertainment, bad comedian, poor sixties dance thing), but the kids seemed to enjoy it.
We stayed on Yare village, there was plenty of space for the tent and the man was very helpful in getting us set up. The only problem was that it was noisy at night. For a family site there seemed a lots of large groups of people drinking and having loud music.
The campsite is very child friendly, there is a nice play area and lots of space to play ball games. There was also crazy golf on the site.
The breakfast was lovely £1.99 for 5 items. The shop over priced but Yarmouth has a huge Asda and Tesco to stock up and is 10min (by car) away.
Defiantly a good cheap, £30 for 3 nights, place to go for a young family.
