We had a brilliant time staying in this site, decided to stay a week, instead of the 3 days we booked! we stayed on a different part of this site, 2mins round the corner, it was very quiet, could pitch where ever you wanted and had a fantastic view of the bay and long ships island.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, even charged our camera batteries for us!

Burger van at the main site sold a variety of food and drink and was reasonably priced, toilets and showers were clean and hot.

We loved the local area and found loads to do. If you like water and a bit of a thrill, we would strongly recommend a trip out on a jet RIB from Penzance, we got a little carried away and went for 4 trips with various companies. Marine Discovery offer the best tours for the best price, very knowledgeable about the history and wildlife in the area. We saw a basking shark, loads of seals and a pod of dolphins that swam around the boat.

The end of our stay was cut a little short by very high wind of he back of a hurricane, lots of tents got destroyed but despite all this happening the other campers and staff of the site were still helpful and friendly.

We will definitely be back again.

Marvellous, this site is great. My husband recommended it as he used to visit when he was a child. It’s a very clean site and has excellent facilities. The owners are very friendly and take great pride in the site.

I lost my purse on the walk down to the beach, but one nice camper handed it in and when we returned to the tent the owners had left a nice note telling me it had been handed in. To me that sums it all up.

We had a few surfers who liked to play the guitar at night, but never too late as the rule of 11pm is adhered too.

We visited the local pork farmer and his wife sold me some wonderful sausages and burgers. They were only up the road and were great for the BBQ.

Totally recommend this site and the area, it was lovely.

Can’t wait for next year.

With the credit crunch, we were looking for a site that could offer value for money and boy did it do that!

We arrived on the Saturday at the tail end of a very severe thunder storm, the tent surprisingly held up well. By Sunday the worst of the weather had cleared but was still a little brisk.

It was lovely waking up to the magnificent view this campsite holds across Sennen Cove.

You have to cross the farmers fields with the cows in to get to the beach path. The walk to the beach is steep and long and once you go down you don't want to come up in a hurry. But I managed and I'm a big lady, so if I can I'm sure most able bodied could manage and the exercise would do you good too.

The beach is part sand part boulders, as the tide goes out the beach flattens. It is more of a surfing tide though with some quite big waves. My 4 kids ranged from 8-15yrs and found it fantastic jumping the waves.

Sennen is about 1 mile walk along the coastal path, which starts by the lifeguards hut.

Nearest supermarket is about 7 miles away. So make sure you don't forget anything if you go shopping.

The site itself is clean and tidy, with a lovely little shop and takeaway food bar. There are plenty of toilets and showers. The campsite was reasonably quiet most of the time, even though we were next to the path that led to the beach.

My only gripe is there were too many flies in the loos and some of the younger groups hung around the stile where the path leads out of the campsite through the cow field to the beach in the late evening. This needs to be addressed.

Otherwise a fantastic budget holiday, especially where larger families are concerned. Oh dogs can go too, might take mine this year.

Stayed on this site for a few days during the glorious weather in the middle of June.

Toilets and other facilities always clean and well maintained

Ample facilities even when the site got busy at weekends

[The pump failed in the Ladies shower block but was repaired the same day and alternative arrangements were made whilst this was done]

There was good access to the coastal path and although the path to the beach was steep we two has beens managed it ok

The staff were all friendly and helpful, even allowing us to extend our stay for a couple of days.

Plenty to do and see in the area we a bus service that stopped outside the site.

The location is superb the sunsets over the sea getting better each night. All in all we would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to staying here next time we are in this area

We've been coming here for years. Just spent 2 weeks got to be one of the best campsites we have used.

Staff are very friendly and will help in any way. The site facilities are very good cleaned everyday and most times in the evening too.

I have been to the loo at 11pm and found John in there cleaning ready for the morning. I've never had to wait in a queue for a shower, nice hot showers too. There is a laundrette with driers. Washing area. Also a freezer for the ice blocks in the laundrette.

The campsite shop has all you need to stay fresh food everyday delivered. Also new this year if wireless connection for the PC, £1 a night really good value.

There is a butty van on site that used to be run by jo but she not there any more ( I must say the food not as good).

About a 10 min walk you have Gwenver beach very nice too. Bit of a steep walk back up but well worth it. But just down the road you have Sennen cove, awesome beach, crystal clear sea and lovely sandy beach.

Just down the road is a cost cuter that sells everything, also Penzance is only 15 dive away.

If you looking for a adventure get in touch with Elemental tours in Penzance. We booked for a marine tour in an RIB boat . We saw Cornwall that most have never seen before, it was amazing. We also saw 3 sunfish and sat taking photos of a pod of 8 basking sharks swimming round the boat within touching distance.

Was recommended to us and was a very good site just stayed for 2 days but enjoyed it

Loads of surfers but was quiet at night very surprised with so many young people. Nice toilets showers. Only gripe was killer walk to beach, even the surfers were puffing and panting, but nice beach and crystal clear water

Couldn't get the tv signal

I would use this site again

This is a cost-effective site if you're travelling alone. Single adult with hookup £8.50 a night. 9x9 metre pretty level pitches, no evidence of waterlogging while I was there. Decent facilities - thankfully no 'club' of any description.

Penzance at only about 10 miles away has just about anything you would want in terms of supplies.

The weather conditions were rather unseasonal for early August, so my review won't give the whole picture. Gale force winds sent quite a few people home early from this fairly exposed site and they had to try to keep cars off the field when access became dangerous.

A fascinating part of Cornwall with lots of ancient sites to visit - which was just as well as, even when the sun came out, the two local beaches had red flags showing for days on end.

And the climb back up the cliff from Gwenver beach is very hard going.

All in all, not ideal for people hoping to walk to a beach for a swim every day. Fine for a touring base, or for surfing when the conditions are favourable.

Lovely site pitch size very spacious. Toilets and showers were basic in camping field but ok, the main block was better. Shop was friendly, helpful and reasonably priced. Daughter and her friend loved the boy watching. Steep walk down to a lovely beach. (we were unlucky to have had the windy wet weather. The lasagne and chips from the cabin were a bit grim though.

We spent one night there and found it a bit too busy for our liking. The camping field that overlooked the sea was absolutely jam packed full with guy ropes crossing etc. I would not have liked to camp there. We were in the Caravan Club field which is, as expected, a bit quieter and not so intensively pitched.

But the facilities were not adequate for the amount of campers that night. The showers were filthy from so many people using them at once. To be fair we were only there for one night and it was most probably the worst time to see the facilities.

An awesomely beautiful location though. Would go back but not in August at such a busy time. I liked the staff, very helpful and friendly despite them giving us pitch numbers that we found already had units on them (three times!).

Just returned today from a fab holiday to Cornwall. Stayed four nights here and overall it was great. Excellent location very close to the sea and Gwenver beach. Good facilities for myself my boyfriend and our dog. Very glad they let dogs onsite!

We pitched in the tent field nearer the road than the other field and I would just like to point out I was disappointed with the toilet and shower facilities in this field. Showers were cold no matter what time they were used and sink basins looked as thought they had not seen bathroom cleaner for a long time! We found that to be a shame and really let them down when everything else was good.
