Just returned home reluctantly from a 4 night stay here, loveley site very clean and peaceful, play area for children, spotless toilet and shower facilities, very friendly site owners.
Not too far to got to local attractions, nice take away in abergele a short car ride away also there were pubs and convieniece shop in village, asda on outskirts of towyn,
only potential problem could be waiting for shower when very busy as site had 1 shower in womens block with nice bathroom next door which had a bath and baby bath, so possibly more showers would be a bonus but wasn't a problem when we stayed, cant wait to return again Very soon.

This was only our 2nd trip with our new (but quite old!) van.
This was a beautiful, well established, site. Lovely and quiet with spotless facilities and well spaced pitches in well landscaped area.
It's convenient for most of North Wales and only 10mins off the A55.
Owners are friendly and helpful, and will even order newspapers for you ready for the next morning.
The free Wi-Fi is a bonus - we even had a webcam chat with relatives in London!
I'm even posting this review via the wifi in the lovely sunshine!
Definitely a place for a return visit

One previous review mentioned the signs and approach roads, heeded the warning and used Google maps at pedestrian street level and had no problems, will use this all the time from now on.
Booking in was very efficient with concise details of the amenities and locations. Access to wifi no problems experienced, but please ask when booking in for the pass code.
Stayed on pitch 11 had a slight slope from front to back (side to side very level). Plenty of room between pitches and ample room to the rear with each having some degree of privacy.
TV reception poor, but who would want to watch TV on very pleasant spring / summer evenings with fantastic views all around. Keep your wits about you if you venture onto country lanes for walks, as some drivers (not all) were travelling a little too fast.
Previous reviews have mentioned the facilities, to confirm, they are spotless and of a good standard and more than adequate numbers of each for the size of the site. The grounds, hedges, edges and paths are neat and well maintained. We are unable to comment on the facilities for children, playground etc
All in all this is an extremely pleasant site having a relaxed nature, which suited us perfectly. Would certainly return in the future.

What a lovely clean well maintained site, the owners very helpful and chatty, the weather was exceptionally good.It was only a small play area for the children but they enjoyed it. Toilets spotlessly clean and tidy. All the facilities were easy to use and well laid out. Real pity couldn't have stayed longer but it was the end of the season, already booked for Easter!

A fabulous, quiet, beautifully trimmed/kept, behind an old farm, site which has long bushes splitting the site and some pitches.Situated handily for the coast and the Snowdonia park.
The lady that met us and checked us in was very helpful. A lot of the pitches on slight slopes so wheel ramps/chocks are a must!.The toilet block is a lovely brick building mid site, has 1 shower in each, which we never had to queue for to be fair, (and is free) and a separate bathroom I think it was £1.00 (in a slot) for a bath/water and a baby bath was in there also. Block is a bit 80's decor( brass plaque says 'Wales site of the year 1989/1990') but immaculate/ clean/warm and has a hair dryer, also has magazines/books to read and local info and faq site info.
Washer/dryer/ironing and wash up area really really immaculate!.
Sign in utility room says basic foods/papers can be arranged/delivered if req.
Nice rope swing/fort kids area under the trees by the stream.
Abergele with a tesco is about 3.5 miles away and nice little town.
Betws yn Rhos village is 1.6 miles downhill/twisty country road with petrol/general store and the wheatsheaf pub which is really very good and highly recommended,a smart friendly, larger than you think old style country pub with food that is a big step up from the normal stuff you come across, but not overly gastro/posh, you can eat in the bar or go into the restaurant, it also has a proper other bar area with pool table/darts,tv which is nice to see these days!. To be honest walking is a dodgy option to/from the pub, back up that hill on that road (and it is properly countryside dark!) a designated driver appears the sensible choice.
Though many hundreds of miles from us we would definitely return to this site

Only 2 things I can fault with this site. 1 is the approach road, the road leading to camp isn't signposted on the main road, so you are in 2 minds whether it is the right road, then it becomes a single track down & up a steep hill before you reach camp on the left. Anything coming the other way & your in trouble. Thought my sat nav was sending into fields again :-(
Second item was size of hard standing pitch, only wide enough for van, so your steps are on grass, which in poor weather will lead to mucky caravan ,but we were lucky, weather was fantastic so did not cause a problem. Everything on site is spot on. Super pitches work a treat, fantastic views, clean toilet block, cut grass, what else do you need. Only 15 mins to colwyn bay,10 mins to Towyn. Will be going back asap

Just returned from a 5 wonderful day visit. This is a very nice small site in a quiet location but only a few miles from Abergele. The toilet block was spotless all the time we were there and the grounds were in fabulous condition. The pitches are all well sized and the fully serviced ones have wooden picnic tables. The play area is fairly basic with a small stream running close by but kept the little ones entertained.
The site owners were very helpful eve asking if we wanted to order daily papers. The nearest shop is about 1.5 miles away in the village which is a petrol station / post office / general stores and is good for most things.
We could recommend the chippy in Abergele called the Jolly Friar and also the cafe opposite the Tesco - The Abergele Grill? - which was well worth a visit.
We would definitely visit again.

Site is very well presented, Pitches are a good size, I stayed on a super pitch, which included all services, water, electric, Tv socket, Waste Drainage.
Play area for children and space for the kids to play.
Site is just up from Abergele on a quiet country road with some great views. Pay as you use laundry services and everyting else we needed to make the stay enjoyable.
I still don't like paying £20 plus per night for a pitch, but I suppose it's the going rate all over these days.
Will be visiting again.

We were booked in to stay 7 nights at the end of may but stayed for 9. This is a very good site, with large pitches and stunning views. The grounds are very well kept and the toilets are spotless. There is even a separate bathroom, ideal for scrubbing the kids after a day playing in the pond. Even though the site was full you never felt crowded and there was very little noise, (only from the resident peacock). The owners are very helpful and you can even order your newspaper if you like. There is an excellent cycle path in Abergele, very flat and free of traffic. We even managed it with two dogs on tow. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending Hunters Hamlet and will certainly be returning in the future.

If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with beautiful scenery and views, then this is a place to visit! The surrounding area and villages are absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views across the hills and valleys. The site is very well kept and pitches are spacious and not too close together. The facilities were spotlessley clean and well maintained at all times. There is even a separate bathroom complete with a bath, which is wonderful if you are like me and don't like showers! A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available along with 2 sinks in a separate utility room. The family are very friendly and helpful, and are on hand at all times. It is a great place for walking or driving although very steep in places. If you like birdlife then it is a great place to see lots of species, including Buzzards. In the summer the barns are used by Swallows, so a great opportunity to see them close up. There is also a Peacock wandering about but it can disturb you in the early hours with its loud call! There is also a lovely childs play area complete with swings etc.
