This site is delightful and we are thinking of booking again for later in the year. From first contact the owners were friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent and the small play area is close by so even young children can play and not get lost, however there is a trickle of a stream running into a pond near this to be aware of. The site is well placed for all the north wales resorts which are quickly accessed by the A55. There are supermarkets to be found within 10 minutes car drive however the site is in a very rural area which is beautiful. As for the dogs mentioned by others, we encountered a lovely old black Labrador who seemed to sleep and lay around all day and left all the running around to a younger dog who was kept under control the whole time we were there. But, the peacock is rather noisy.

The site is very nicely laid out. The facilities are immaculately clean with a nice big shower cubicle making it easier if you are also showering a little one. My only gripe was that the campsite owners dog was running free around the site a lot which upset my dog as she was on her lead, the dog was also allowed to foul near the playground and this still had not been cleared up the next day which I thought was bad. There was a field to exercise your dog in but no walks as such and sometimes there was a horse in the field. I would say it's not the best of sites to visit with a dog but for anyone else it was perfect.

A lovely and quiet site. We went as a group with 2 adults, 3 children and 1 dog staying in a caravan and a motorhome. Given it was the first week of the Easter holidays there were only another 4 children on site! We were given pitches next to each other and the owners were very friendly. The pitches were spacious with lots of drinking water points. However, do not go without levellers, the pitches are not very level! The only problems we encountered were the owners pets: a very vocal peacock, a cat that liked to roam over tables (even in awnings), a very excitable black lab (which even though we were expected to keep our dog on a lead their dog was free to roam causing lots of problems) and several horses! Plenty of hot water and very clean facilities, The kids had a lovely time and so did we!

Hunters Hamlet is a small touring caravan site, set in a particularly beautiful and quiet area of North Wales (close to Llandudno, Conwy and Rhyl, if Rhyl is your thing). I believe that there are 30 hard-standing pitches, all electric and very large. The site itself is mostly on a gentle slope (although all hard-standings are of course flat). The site is otherwise immaculately nurtured grass (with some mature trees and shrubs) and is quite beautiful, to say the least. No traffic noise invades the general peacefulness of the site. I believe that the owners have thought particularly hard about the comfort of their guests, with emphasis on their heated toilet, shower and bathroom block (baths cost 40p, although this amounts to a full adult sized bath of hot water - a child's bath is 20p). A small (but perfectly blended) child adventure play area also occupies the site. Before I visited this site, I felt it a little overpriced (although all North Wales sites seem a little pricey when compared nationally), I can personally vouch (however) that all those appreciating peace and quiet, comfortable facilities and pleasant pitches in pleasant surroundings will both adore this site and find it excellent value for money. Highly commended. Please note that there were only two other families on site during my visit (we had no neighbours), so I cannot comment on high season atmosphere! May I also say that their website does not do them justice (a photo gallery attached to the site would be a good idea, as the few photos shown do not reflect how nice the location actually is). It is nevertheless refreshing to find a site that appeals more in reality than as advertised. Folding campers are accepted as well as caravans (as in our case). Try visiting this site, and taking an awe inspiring walk around the Great Orme. Conwy castle is also extremely impressive. An excellent site in a quite beautiful area of Wales.

August 2004 We have just returned from spending 5 nights at Hunters Hamlet, with our two young children. The site is very peaceful and quiet. The toilets and showers are kept very clean. There are only two showers, one in the ladies and one in the gents, so I did have to queue on the odd occasion, (could possibly do with extra showers). But apart from that a lovely site, with great views, highly recommended if you want a peaceful holiday.
