What a lovely site. The welcome was very friendly. The site was clean and not cramped for the number of pitches available. The shop sells basics should you run short. The toilets/showers were lovely and clean and very warm. There is also a lovely veg prep / washing up area inside. Definitely to be recommended. The pitches are mainly hardstanding all have electricity. There is poor TV reception, but the site has a booster ariel. The site is set in lovely location with trees surrounding and there are plenty of shrubs between caravans.

Great site and although quite a large site it does not feel it as the pitches are well spaced and the site pretty open. There are 2 toilet blocks which are kept very clean and although the site was full each of the 9 nights we stayed we never had to queue for a shower.
Site is very well kept and reception stocks basic provisions and some caravan accessories. Otherwise there is a small supermarket in the village 10 mins walk away and several large supermarkets in Scarborough 4 miles or so away. There are 2 play areas for kids (one for toddlers) and a large playing field with a games room so kids are well catered for.
We were lucky with the weather during our stay so were able to get out and about to visit the many attractions the area has to offer. Whitby is still a favourite being more quaint than Scarborough as are the villages of Pickering, Helmsley and Thorton Le dale. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Flamingoland and Eden Camp were also great days out. We had not been to this area of North Yorkshire for about 7 years and had forgotten how much it has to offer for families and how good value it is. Scarborough itself is also worth a vist. We normally avoid the larger seaside resorts but ventured in to Scarborough several evenings to eat and to spend some time at the small fun fair. Plenty of restaurants and not all fish & chips or burgers. Not a big fish and chip fan but have to agree the take away in West Ayton is superb.
Will definitely be back - maybe even next summer.

Most pitches are hard standing there is electric hook ups on all pitches, there is two toilet blocks both where very clean all the time, the showers where great lovely and hot.
Nice area for vegetable preparation, small games room very good. All in all this is a great site we stayed 5 nights but we will be back.

We visited this site & found it to be very clean. There are 2 pubs within a short 10 minute walk of the site, both of which do food. We ate at the Dennison Arms & were faced with huge portions. Although tasty, much of the food was deep fried & we will be looking at the salads if we go back again. Can't remember the name of the other pub on the opposite side of the road, but it had a good beer garden.
Perfect location to Scarbrough & Robins Hood Bay, bu would suggest the entrance charge to the Dalby Forest is far too high! We will definitely be back.

A lovely site which is great for dog walking. The staff are friendly and helpful and the site and facilities are immaculate. Probably too quiet for some people but ideal for those wanting to get away from it all. Didn't visit the local pub as it didn't seem that appealing but did try the local fish and chips and the portions were that generous could have easily fed double.

This was our first visit to a Caravan Club site and we could not have been more surprised. It was the first weekend it opened and we were surprised just how busy it was. We only booked two nights and the weather was awful. Rainy and blustery. But the day we came home it was beautiful. Is that not just the case. !
We were very impressed with the size of the site and how immaculate it was.
Lovely showers. Lot's of hot water, and very clean.
Lovely kids play areas, we made a mental note when we bring the grandchildren.
Great for all ages.
We ate at the pub at the bottom of the road. Not a great choice on the menu, but very nice. Sat night we ate in.
The wardens were very helpful and the shop had all that you might need. Even asked us what newspaper we wanted. How good is that.?
Being only 4 miles from Scarborough was great. Lot's to do in the area.
A great weekend and we will return.

Decided to get away from home and do our Xmas shopping in Scarborough.
Site was easy to find. Bumped into wardens on approach road as we arrived they were heading off to village chip shop, they were very friendly, made sure we knew where we were heading.
Site was very empty so had our pick of pitches. Decided to get as close as poss to the shower block as weather was extremely cold.
Shower block was a little tired looking but very clean. Shower areas a little on the small side.
Strange layout to some hardstanding pitches, you had to drive over grass to access them - thought this a little odd as it defeats the point of having a hardstanding.
Only stayed two nights and didn't really get to explore the surrounding area as we headed into Scarborough to shop.
Wouldn't discount visiting it again.

We have just visited this site and were really pleased with it.
We have 3 dogs and so are always looking for a site with a good dog walk. Well the dog walk at West Ayton was really good.
The wardens were also really friendly and helpful.
Despite being the summer holidays and having lots of children on the site -we found the site to be very peaceful and quiet. (this might be due to the good play equipment)
Toliet blocks clean and provided lots of hot water for showers.!
Laundry facilities were good but a bit pricey - £3 for a wash and 70p for use of the tumble dryer (15mins)
We ate at the Denison arms and agree the food was lovely and portion sizes were huge.
Overall we thought this site was great and will be going back for sure.

This is now our 5th visit to this site and we never tire of it. Its an Ideal spot for the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast. If you enjoy walking, as we do, then get yourself a book of walks in the area.
Well, there are Nettles on site, but the grass is kept well mown upto these and I say Bravo as they encourage wildlife and Butterflys. There is a large playfield for the kids with no nettles and no dogs. The dog walk can be extended by going through the large bar gate and along the fields atop Forge Valley. June is a nice time to visit the RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs, you will see Gannets, Razorbill, Kittiwake, Guillemot and Puffin all nesting on the rock ledges. There are safe viewing positions, just don't forget the Binos.
There is a parking fee but entrance to the site via the shop is free. If you prefer to walk, walk along the coastal path from North Landing where there is a cafe and free parking. Look for the sign on the left 400yds before North Landing and 100yds past the Caravan site entrance. Last year while walking from here we spotted Deer and watched the AirSea rescu helecopter training in the area.
Its a lovely area, you just got to get out there and look. Enjoy

This is a lovely site, loads going on for the kids. Wardens very helpful, we had a problem with our water they went out of their way to get it sorted. The previous comment about cars all over, that is not correct or it wasn't when we were there. Only one car a pitch, we had 2 cars and one had to be put on the car park. As for kids playing football we never saw it perhaps they should have had words with the kids themselves, as for nettles not on your life, my kids were never off the play area. Dont be put off with the earlier comment we will certainly be going back we have never had any problems.
