This is a lovely site,as I am coming to expect from the caravan club,it is well laid out ,with two toilet blocks, both of which were spotlessly clean and had privacy cubicles and endless hot water. Superb large pitches all with hookup .the t.v reception was quite poor but soon remedied with the purchase of a 25metre co-ax cable for 13pounds plugged into their booster system . Only 4 miles from Scarborough,a Pub and shop within half a mile of the site, the friendliness of the staff is the icing on the cake, they are always seen to be busy but still find the time to be polite and helpful-in fact they are in the process of returning the remote for my motor mover, which I carelessly left on the out side of my van when I pulled away.Would I recommend this site -Definitely. Will I return-You bet I will

Lots of room with spacious pitches. Rabbits in abundance and a few moles. Very well laid out and had large enough pitches for RV's. Separate playing area for children but no tents. Well equipped toilet block with washing up facilities, up to CC standard. 15 minute walk into village with bus stop into Scarborough. From Scarborough why not catch the local bus to Whitby - wonderful journey and passing through Robin Hood Bay. Scarborough has all the usual shops and is about 20 minutes bus ride from West Ayton. Camp site was full when we arrived (Friday) but a lot of movement on Sunday p.m. Very popular site and advisable to book.

Our first visit to this site, and we were not disappointed. Very attractively laid out, so you don't feel that the site is as large as it is. Usual CC standards, very helpful wardens. Good area for all tastes - we love walking and will need to go back for another week to do all the walks, but those wanting a less strenuous holiday will also find plenty to do. Be sure to book for peak periods - the number of vans rolling up for the weekend was quite incredible! Site was not noisy even when full, as the main games field is away from the pitching area. Highly recommended.

Another wonderful caravan club site. Toilet areas as good as any I have seen, plenty of hot water. A choice of grass or hard pitches with plenty of room. Kids loved the main play field which was set to the side so you didn't need to hear them all shout if you didn't want to. No complaints.

August 2004 We have been to this site several times, during all seasons (except winter when it is closed) and we always enjoy it. It is situated in a quiet village between Scarborough and Filey and is well laid out with excellent, clean facilities up to the usual standard of the Caravan Club.
The site is surrounded by trees which makes for great wildlife watching. There is a good children's play area (although small). My children (9 and 11)particularly like the large playing field with goals and the games room with a pool table and table tennis table (take your own bats and ball.)
The dog walk is excellent and leads outside of the site to a large Nature reserve which is a joy to explore whatever the time of year. (You have to look for it though. We found it by accident after we discovered some steps in the hill just outside the dog walk.) There are also excellent walks around the village and plenty to explore.
Thre are plenty of places reachable by car round about, including Scarborough and Filey, Eden Camp and many more attractions from North Yorkshire, although you could just spend your time away relaxing in and around the site if you wanted. There is also a shop in the village which you can walk to although it is quite a trek, and a fish shop, fish restaurant and pub.
Definitely worth a visit - we will be going again!

various 2003 This is a Caravan Club site and is up to usual standards. A large well laid out site with various different areas to choose from to pitch. Two immaculate toilet blocks, kids playground, kids games room and large dog walk. Close to Scarborough but also easy access to the wonderful moors/forests.
