Been to hampton road on a great number of occasions, cant sing their praises enough, this is how caravan sites should be run,
Its clean, plenty of room between units, toilets spotless, although could maybe have showers slightly bigger, but that's the only gripe, but loads of hot water,
Great for south shore only ten minutes walk to south pier and pleasure beach trams and buses run up and down front all the time,
Hampton road club is A-1, reasonably priced beer good entertainment, (at weekends)
We are off there again this weekend October, really looking forward to it.

Hampton Road is a great base for exploring Blackpool. If you stay here you can access all the attractions on foot. The site is level and there is plenty of room between units. The social club is large and there are acts and quizzes every weekend. The washrooms are clean and the facilities are just right for the size of the site. The ladies showers were being updated. There is no play area or amusements for the children but due to the proximity to the attractions this isn't really an issue. It's a case of location, location location! The club does admit children accompanied by adults so that can be handy! All in all a good little site ideal for those not wanting to use the car and explore the attractions on foot!

Well, reviewed this a while ago and things haven't changed much, apart from the showers, don't know whether they look on here or not but the Gents have been done, still the existing showers but re-tiled and old wooden duckboards thrown out. Still could do with some decent extraction though, perhaps they'll see this !
The ladies was/is still ongoing apparently, but might be done now.
Still a great clubhouse, beer and people. Tad expensive for a weekend but its location, location, location,
See you soon- gonna try and go when Western night is on YEE HA !

Excellent location, excellent welcome by warden and members of the Social Club too!
There were some renovations of showers and facilities going on whilst we were there. I could imagine that when the site is full during high season that the facilities could be stretched for those without 'On board' ones.
We enjoyed the evenings entertainment programs at the club. Realise that this isn't for everybody and the close proximity to the South Pier area and Pleasure Beach may have greater attraction for most, however, for those that want an enjoyable club night, go for it; this is the place to be!

Have visited this site a few times now
The site is excellent for access to Blackpool
The facilities are a bit small but clean and well looked after. The warden is very friendly.
The site is very family orientated as children are allowed in the social club on the site and all the staff are pleasant.
The site is well maintained and quiet secure as you need a fob to access the site by car as it is barriered off.
Overall I think this site is good value for money.

Just back after a 3 night stay and I must say that this is an excellent site and one we will use again
Pitches are a bit on the small size if you have an awning
Toilets are very clean but dated but I must admit I would rather have clean and dated than modern and dirty
There are no kids facility's that I seen we had no use for them
The Warden was very helpful and kept the site very clean & tidy
Location is only 10 minutes from the south pier and Pleasure beach and a 30 minute walk to the tower or £1. 70 on the bus if you cant be bothered walking
The site is easy to find the only drawback is the short residential street you have to drive down to get to the site.
Price I must admit that at £25. 00 per night including awning and electric you are paying for the location
The social club on site is very clean and tidy and the bar prices are very reasonable

We recently stayed at this site for a week, I must say that the weather helped to make our stay one of the best holidays we have had for years.
Having had a large family and lots of noise at home it was a pleasure to go to a site that had no noisy destructive ill mannered kids running about as some of the sites we have visited do.
The people staying on the site were very friendly as were the staff, and members of the club. Facilities were good, a very good club with good entertainment.
I would say that this is a nice quiet site ideal for couples like ourselves who want to get away for a few days, pitches were great, road noise could be a problem but I had my ear pugs ready, very useful are earlugs.
Over all I would say that we would be glad to go back to this site, and hope to do so later this year.

Just got back from a three day midweek stay at the site. I have used this site once in the past about a year ago; my only complaint about the site is the outdated toilet and shower facilities. They are quite small and there are not enough of them. You may have to queue to use them at some point. Whilst always clean they could do with updating and made larger. I was expecting some sort update from my last stay.
It is only a small site and there are two pitches that are very close to the on site club, less than 10 metres I wouldn’t like to have these pitches.
I would use this site again as the staff are helpful and the site clean and well kept.
As others have said there is nothing on site for children however the beach and funfair is only a short walk away.
There is some traffic noise from the road behind the site and it is very close to a large car park that does get busy.

This is quite a small site very close to Blackpool Pleasure beach (only 5 minute walk).
The check in was quick and we got a very wrm welcome. There is a small shower/toilet block that is clean with lots of hot water. There is a laundry with 1 washing machine and 1 dryer.
There is a club house on site although we didn't go in. It is a 5 minute walk to a couple of nice pubs that have quite cheap meals.
I think it is a bit expensive for what it is (£25 per night) but I guess you are paying for its position.
Would recommend this site for visiting Blackpool.

Been a few times, mainly as it's only 3 streets away from where I grew up. Very friendly management, good hardstandings.
Ok the toilet block might not be perfect and showers a bit cramped and taking a caravan down Hampton Road can be a bit hairy when the residents are at home.
Re the playground, yes, the Pleasure beach is 10 minutes walk away and the beach is a little less, however, if you walk up Hampton road, turn left then left again, there is a large well appointed municipal park with playing fields, swings, a baskeball court etc, all free.
As for the price of your stay, if you walk, again, up Hampton Road (200 yards or so) you reach Lytham Road, from here you can get a bus almost anywhere on the Lancs coast.
Even if you just visited Blackpool centre you've saved £10 on parking. As I said, I grew up nearby so maybe I'm blinkered but you'll not get a more central location for the price.
