We stayed here the first week of October a very welcoming site. Everything is kept as clean as possible. Yes we can always say its a basic site But we used it to visit Blackpool and it was great, only 10-15 min walk to south pier 2miles to tower. What helps to make a good holiday the weather and for the first time in many a year it was lovely. Social club great beer and good prices, and there again made you feel welcome. We would definitely go back again. Shops across the road just over bridge dog walk is in big car park which is just before you go over bridge.

Stayed here for one night whilst travelling from Scotland to Cornwall.
I found the site to be very cramped, the pitches are very close together and you get people walking very close to your pitch going to/from the club or the toilets.
The toilets are cramped and a bit outdated, but were clean and showers were hot.
Chemical emptying point was fine, and quite luxurious compared to another site we have used recently.
Promenade is 5 minutes walk away.
Did not go into club, not really my sort of thing, especially as it was country and western/line dancing the night we were there.
Site a bit too expensive at £24 for a night.

A very nice and tidy site located with easy reach to the Pleasure Beach and nearby local shops. The site is compact but you don't feel overcrowded. The level hardstanding concrete base makes camping a whole lot easier as does the easy access water points. You have to buy tokens from the office for the washing machine and tumble dryer but the machines work really well and are just like the ones you have at home so you get a decent clothes wash/dry.
Only real gripe was that the elsan point was smelly and dirty but that is probably down to the users rather than the site.
Nothing for kids to do on site but then you know that when you book the site so not a problem for me.
Am planning the return trip next year as the location of the site is great for what I want even with the noise which you can't hear when you are in your unit.

My wife and I have just returned after a four night stay. Overall our view of the site is a positive one. It is small enough to be friendly and just big enough to feel away from it all.
Although the pitches are not that big, if you have an awning up then you have to park your car in the site carpark. This is no hassle and security is not a problem as you are away from the main road.
The toilet block is definitely outdated and does need a revamp. In the gents there are two of everything, showers, wc and sinks and everything seems very close together with very little room to move. One thing that must be said is that they were ALWAYS clean. There is the usual bucket of disinfectant for the floor after your shower or a mishap in other parts of the block.
The showers are ok but do have them awful timer valves which only run for 20 seconds.
There are the other usual things there such as veg prep room with a washing machine, chemical disposal point and grey water disposal point.
On two of the pitches, number 22 and 24 you do get the people from the pitches opposite walking right next to your caravan on the way to either the club house or toilets and most looking into your caravan.
The club is great, there was guest artists on most nights and the beer was ok. The staff ALL were pleasant and were always busy around the site keeping it very clean indeed.
The site really does not cater for children at all as there is no play area for them so they run around the site, but kids will be kids and they are no trouble and you are not that far from the beach anyway.
The main road into Blackpool that goes into the main carparks runs at the rear of the site but the noise is not that bad as it is shielded by trees and you only hear the daft lads running around in their cars.
A walk out of the site along a private road and you are onto the main road up to the town. Buses are running well up to Blackpool or down to Lytham and a 10 minute walk will see you at the sea front on the south shore next to the pleasure beach. One point I would like to make here and that is BUS PASSES, if you going to be using a bus on regular basis then please go into a newsagents and ASK about them. They work out a long way cheaper than single journeys tickets and you can get them for different amount of days (3,5,7).
Overall it is a friendly site with people that have been going for quite a few years so that tells you something about it. We will be going back, that's if we can get booked in because it is very popular and fills up fast. There is around 28 pitches and all hard standing.

My Wife and me stayed here for 10 day, what a great site. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The club on the site is great we went in most nights, you are made to feel welcome and the staff are friendly.
There has been one or two comments made about the toilets that I don't think are justified. The toilets are kept clean and the showers are nice and hot.
I have to say that the site itself is not very child friendly in respect of things to do for young children but after saying that Blackpool's Promenade is only 10 min walk away with everything a child could wish for.
We will definitely be going back to this site and would recommend it to anyone.

Great location, literally 5-10 mins walk from the Pleasure Beach. Site is well laid out, pitches all concrete hard-standing. Bathroom facilities basic but clean. Security is good, barrier entry etc. There are plenty of local shops for provisions etc. There's is also a huge Tesco's just off the Island at the end of the M55 (A5230).
No children's / family facilities whatsoever. Bathroom facilities not child friendly, small cramped. No play area at all.
The pitch fees (£22-£24/night) are on par with a top-class Caravan Club site, however this site & its facilities are certainly not.
To summarise, a good site to use as a base to visit Blackpool & its attractions but that's all. Facilities clean and basic, seemed safe.
Will return

Just spent 3 nights on this site it`s easy to find and was clean & tidy all pitches are hard standing & have plenty of space, the wc / shower block although basic were clean there`s also a laundry room.
There`s a social club on site but no shop or kids play area though there are shops close.
This site is in a very good position for the pleasure beach & south pier just a short stroll away & about 25 min walk to the tower & centre.
Will use again in the future.

Just got back home from a week-end at Blackpool.
This site is situated close to all the things you want to do.
It is in walking distance of the front and pleasure beach if so inclined.
I like this site as it is close for us going to visit the rock and roll night at the the 'QUEENS'
The showers are always clean and tidy (might not be up to date as with other sites) but the manager is always on site for anything you need.
Love coming to this site when I can get a pitch.
Always full up but I keep trying.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site.
As stated in other reviews it is very close to all the attractions Blackpool has to offer.
The site itself could do with a bit of updating, the toilets and showers for the caravan site were disgusting, I wouldn't use them, crossed my legs until the club opened as the toilets in there were fine. Used our own shower.
We were pitched at the back of the site, oh the noise, take your earplugs, the site is right at the side of the main road into Blackpool and is terribly noisy. There is nothing for children to do on the site and also it has no shop but the proximity to the front makes up for this. As stated before it is down a narrow road but this wasn't a problem. The club was good, made to feel very welcome and seemed to be something going on every night of the week which was good, I believe the prices of the drinks was cheap too!
Out and about, no need to use the car, just a 5/10 minute walk to the front. Loads of places to eat but two I would recommend are the Yeadon Way pub, which is literally 2 minutes from the site, just the other side of the Premier Inn and for a lovely cheap Sunday Carvery, the Buccaneer, inside Coral Island, only £6.95.
All in all, the site was quite expensive for what was on offer, committee take heed, do something with the toilets and showers! Would we return, yes, but would use our own facilities and take some earplugs!

Expensive, but well worth it for the club on site and close proximity of the Blackpool attractions.
As submitted by an earlier reviewer, the toilets are a bit tired and while we were there I was unable to get a hot shower in the Gents facilities, but would definitely go there again for a short break.
Word of warning - access is down a residential street often parked up both sides and leaving only a single track down the centre.
