Just got back from a short stay on this great little site. The location is absolutely perfect for access to the promenade as it is only 2 side streets away from the south shore area (5mins walk). All pitches are hard standing with electric. The toilets although old are reasonably clean as are the showers, where the water was always nice and hot. The social club which is on site was excellent with good free entertainment and good quality cheap beer prices. I'd recommend this site and will definitely be going back.

This is a great little site, perfect if you don't want to move the car, 5-10mins stroll takes you straight to the front by the SANDCASTLE all the buses and trams are there for the taking. We had no problems with road noise, but can imagine it may be an issue if you are sited on the back row. Very easily accessible, but watch the parked cars down Hampton Road itself! Went in the clubhouse, they had a male singer on, he was ok - but a band had let them down at the last minute. Very nicely decorated and welcoming with good bar prices. All pitches are hard standing, great for Blackpool's unpredictable weather! I can understand the previous comments about the toilets, they're not great, but I've seen a lot worse ! They are ready for an overhaul, but I used them and I'm very picky ! All in all, I am very positive about this site and we will definitely use it again.

What a great little site, as previous posts, near the front, shops, the club has just been refurbished, some great turns on whist we were there, cheap beer, the staff both in the club and the staff looking after the camping side, great.
Again to re-iterate previous posts, I used the showers, seen a lot worse in municipal baths , but the wife and daughter used ours, but hey, thats why we bought one with a decent shower wasn't it ? Hopefully the committee will read theses posts and address the problem, won't they ? generally speaking I would tell them myself, ( but might get blackballed and I would like to return ) but I would definatley go back -even if it was only for the cowboy / western night , absolutley GREAT- trust me, ain't laughed as much for AGES !

We had the most dreadful weather BUT a Lovely holiday at this site the site itself is spotless and very well maintained, the toilets were a little dated but were clean. The clubhouse is very warm and welcoming and keeps a good pint my husband tells me ! and good prices too. We were in a caravan with electric hookup and hard standing (good job with the bad weather) and plenty of room for our awning and parking. All in all excellent !

This is my 2nd revised review of Hampton Road, we first stayed here back in 2005 and have been 4 times since.
The site is very level so pitching is easy. The warden is very friendly and helpful. No shop on site but such a good location shops aren't a problem to find. The location is ideal for the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastles water park, (expensive but excellent morning or afternoon with the kids - don't miss out!)
Work is being carried out on the club itself. Recently decorated and re-fitted out it really is a nice family friendly place to be. The entertainment is very good and prices more than fair for the drinks. Bingo is a big hit with the kids.
I'm hoping that the showers and toilets on the site are also going to be shown some updating as this is the only thing that really lets the site down. Very old, not very welcoming, its such a shame that this aspect is being overlooked by the club comittee.
All in all a very good site, but a site that could be excellent with a bit of money being spent in the right areas.

This site was in a ideal location close to Blackpool promenade!
The site was kept clean at all times. Shame that the showers was not very clean couldn't think of using them they were very mouldy! The club on site was also very clean we were allowed in on the Friday evening with the pram but when we went in on the Saturday we were asked to leave the pram in the lobby if we wanted to go in it was a shame because the little one was sleeping so we had to return back to the van! We havn't decided if we will visit this site again because of the shower facillities and the not taking the pram into the club! which is a shame as this site is ideally located!

Hi ,nice with a site friendly manager ,we've stayed here twice site is small clean and level but the shower block was mouldy our van has a shower but I prefer a proper one so I was no happy with the cleanliness of the shower the rest of the site was spotless. Also a bit pricey and going up again for 2007. The club is friendly and reasonably priced with artiste on at the weekends.
