Obviously the weather was a contributory factor, but there were a few things about Homings that I was not particularly pleased about.
Maybe it is par for the course and I am just inexperienced in what to expect, but I was annoyed at paying the same fee as everyone else when not using any electricity (and stating clearly upon booking that we did not require a hookup). We are cyclists and do not have any vehicle. If I had known that we would pay exactly the same as motorhome owners etc I would not have booked.
The swimming pool is small - so if the weather had been conducive to a dip it would have been a rather intimate experience with complete strangers! Plus it would cost nearly a fiver for a 2 adult 2 child family for the privilege of access. Apparently the pool is nothing to do with the park (in spite of being right in the middle of it)- to the point where the receptionists would not tell me anything about it!
No bins for general rubbish anywhere on the site except at the entrance, and signs telling people not to use the toilet or kitchen bins for domestic waste - the amount of rules and restrictions did feel rather oppressive - no ball games no cycling etc etc.
One thing that I do not understand from other reviews is that no one seems bothered by the road very close by. The traffic was 24 hour constant and in a tent was loud - the only thing that drowned it out was the driving rain.
The receptionist did not know the directions to the site from the station, and when we left early no refund was forthcoming
It is clean and well maintained, but is not an attractive site - no concessions for non vehicle campers and is close to a road.

Just stayed 7 nights at homing park. (tent) myself and family with 2 children. On first visiting the site its in a nice open location clean and tidy, and was very impressed with the very clean and well kept shower/toilet rooms. The pool was well kept but did have to pay £1.00 per person each day. There is 1 tennis court which is £3.00 per hour which was very disappointing, and as far as stuff to do here in the day is it.
There is a local on site club bar for beers and stuff next to pool but no music or game activity offered also no on site shop. The spar shop is 2 min drive though and tescos just 2 miles away.
Night time bar is open till 11am week with 2 pool tables, weekend entertainment was not good just a dj with some terrible music and that was sat night only.
Also every night there is a on site security guard who walks and checks the camp site till dawn which is superb for peace of mind.
To sum up nice site well kept, friendly staff, but for the kids they got bored I think it just needs more.! just watch for the skinny road behind site enough for 1 car!

We went with friends for the weekend. It was very easy to find the site. The people are very friendly and helpful. The is a tennis court, swimming pool and 5 a side football pitch.
The camping site is small and the facilities are very tidy and clean. The toilets was cleaned daily and even a hairdryer is availible.
Unfortunately there is no shop but a Tesco is 2miles from the site. We had a lovely relaxing weekend. Thank you!

We had another long Bank Holiday weekend @ Homing Park.
Once again we were greeted by the very helpful staff, and were quickly on our way to our pitch. There is not really much to add since our last review, bar from the fact that the washrooms were better kept than last year, with us not having to wait too long for a shower. We had a laugh on the Friday night playing Bottletop Bingo, ingenious.
One of our favourite sites!

We went the bank holiday with friends our first camping experience. I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Would have liked the toilets too be cleaned a bit later, seemed too be cleaned in 'rush hour' but I'd rather want a clean toilet unit so not complaining. The toilets were always clean we never had to use our own toilet paper. It would be nice if there was a bench in the family shower unit for the children to sit while you dressing them.
We went to the playground which is lovely but I have a 4 year and 1 year old and the playground is separated for younger and older children and my 4year old wanted to play in the older section and my 1year old was too small would have preferred it to be one big space.
We loved it and we going back in July. Whitstable is a lovely town and Canterbury has a beautiful park for nice picnics. I have invited all my friends and we are going in August.Hope to see you there.

We used our touring caravan for the fist time at Homing Park as it was only 30 miles from where we live, being a novice at towing a caravan I found the entrance to the site quite narrow, but got through with out any problem, the pitches were large, flat and well laid out.
The shower block was kept clean, but only had 2 showers, the club house was small, there wasn't any entertainment on Friday, Saturday there was a disco and Sunday they had karaoke.
If you were camping in a tent there was a lot of road noise coming from the Thanet way, but we didn't notice it in the caravan.
We will be using this site again,

We went with our 9 year old daughter and met friends there on adjacent pitch) with 9 and 5 year old girls.
Booking was very simple and owner was very accommodating in providing adjacent pitches at late notice.
Relatively small campsite of 38 pitches on the side of a relatively large mobile home park. The site is meticulously maintained with new, clean facilities, a small playground for kids and an outdoor pool, which was not yet in operation (probably too erly in the season). The clubhouse is good and sells snacks, but you have to go off-site to get milk, eggs, papers etc as there is no on-site shop.
The pitch we had was a good size, with power, TV ariel point and water. The grass and hedges were well maintained and the loos, showers and washing-up area were spotless. Showers gave gallons of hot water 24 hours/day and were very spacious, with curtain separating the changing area (with bench and hooks). On our trip, all three ladies' loo door locks were broken, but the gents' were fine. A hair drier is available in the gents and the ladies, but weren't very effective, so you'd be better off using the hand driers.
We arrived late (circa 8.30pm) due to traffic en-route, and although we did get in and set-up OK, we felt they weren't very pleased we were late. Similarly, when we left and had to hand in our barrier fob at around 2pm, reception was closed and they again made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them. Their response when we eventually found someone was 'why does this always happen when I'm on my lunch break!'.
It rained heavily on our second day, and although there hadn't been any rain for days beforehand, our pitch quickly became waterlogged, with water/mud coming up through our ground mat, so we had to lay a tarpaulin on top.
To summarise, I'd say:
For campers:
1) a lovely site with good facilities, near to the sea
2) recommend bringing a waterproof ground sheet, just in case
3) nice clubhouse. Good for families and couples alike
For the owners
1) Please install drainage between pitches
2) Why not direct late arrivals to the clubhouse to sign paperwork and pick up barrier fob (and to refund deposit when it's returned), so we're not made to feel as though we've interrupted or inconvenienced you
3) Thank you for the spotless facilities. We will be recommending your site to fellow campers.

We have visited Homing Park 4 or 5 times and are going back in 3 weeks for the Whitsun Bank holiday.
Site is lovely, well situated, and a great distance for a nice walk into Whitstable. (nice fish market, and some nice pubs on the way back).
Toilet/showers are nice, but do suffer on a busy weekend, so make sure you take a loo roll.
Pitches are a good size and are reasonably flat.

Have just stayed with tourer. Nice big pitches and good facilities with warm welcome on arrival and departure.
Toilet block modern and well kept with no waiting for a shower even on a busy weekend.
Might be more suited to those looking for a lively site as club house and pool can be very busy although staff very helpful and attentive.
Whitstable and Herne Bay are good days out and a good base for exploring the Kent coast.

Just got back from a week at Homing Leisure Park. Be warned the entrance is narrow despite large gates being available they were not opened.
The pitches are large enough and you can uses gazebo's and wind breakers. There is electric, water and normal waste at each pitch.
The only draw back was that the toilets run out of toilet paper early evening, there are only 2 showers which flood due to regular use.
The cleaners clean between 9-11am which is not a good time as this is when the facilities are usually wanted to be used!
The site owners are friendly and are new to the park, they are aware of some issues and plan to address them.
There were a few niggles, one dog left in a caravan constantly barking and a very inconsiderate BMW driver who decided to let everyone hear his car stereo until late evening!
The site is close to Thanet way and you could hear the cars, it was a tad noisy for my liking!
All in all we had a great week in the sun, area of Kent was nice.
