We are due to go back to chestnut meadow this week and can't wait. we have been several times and can't find another site to match not only the standards but the staff who are so helpful and friendly and make you feel part of the family. thanks to the owner and his team for everything they have done to help us as my husband has had 7 heart attacks and now 4 strokes so they are aware and I know they keep their eye on us to make sure we are ok xxxxx

Nice site. Huge pitches. Easygoing and friendly staff that also ensure no late night or early morning noise. Spent a nice long weekend there and would recommend. Toilets/showers all immaculate. The cafe serves good food (large portions) reasonably priced and licensed. The games room has pool/table tennis/air hockey and separate snooker room for adults. Bus stop outside site for Bexhill/Hastings so all in all a good find.
PS Entrance is a bit tight so take a wide turn to get in)

Have stayed here a few times now - it's great! Location is perfect for exploring battle, surrounding villages and bexhill beaches ( sorry Hastings but you look very tired!). A well run site with a great shop for whatever you need and a lovely looking cafe (yet to eat there but v popular!). The pitches are well spaced and have all you need, there is a good play area and indoor games room with air hockey etc and huge freezer if you need it! Most campers are friendly but there were a few 'regulars' (seasonal - not sure) who paraded around like grand dukes tutting and passing comment at various things (mainly the fact that there were other people present by the gist of it!) - sad but quite funny!
The facilities are very good a cut above, and there are lots of walks just outside the site for doggies and family picnics in the woods :). The entrance looks like you have taken a wrong turn, long and feels narrow although we have not had a problem. Recommend booking as it gets busy.

After years of camping in a tent we bought a new Camp Let trailer tent and wanted to try it before the winter. This site is very close to where we live but what a find. Whenever and wherever we camp there is usually something that we think could be improved - that is until we got to Chestnut Meadow. Too many good things to mention them all and not one negative (we can't blame them for the rain!) The food in the on site cafe was so good we rang our friends who joined us for a Saturday night meal, the prawn curry was great!
Thanks to all the staff for taking such pride in creating this brilliant site.

Just got back from a two night stay at Chestnut Meadow with my wife and our 3 children. This was our first proper camping experience and we were not disappointed. The site is well run and very organised and staff were always friendly and willing to help. The shower and toilet facilities were always kept clean, the pitches were tidy with ample room and the cafe and shop have all the essentials you would need - including freshly baked bread in the morning. Add an indoor games room and playground and you have all the makings of a top quality site. Our only regret was not spending more time at the site as there is so much to do in the local area. Bodiam Castle and the Birling Gap are both recommended day excursions.
We will definitely be going back at some point.

Broadhembury Holiday Park - Ashford
Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. A range of grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced or non electric, catering for all sized of tents and caravans.
On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. The park has CCTV and WiFi is available for a small fee. A dog walking area is provided on site. Find out more here

Lovely site, very clean, very friendly. Plenty for the children to do.
The toilets are warm, modern, clean and you don't need 20p for the showers (which is the case for most sites that I've been to recently)
The on site cafe was lovely and offers a much appreciated takeaway and delivery service when we late on our first night.
I would recommend this site although it does get very busy during high season, it didn't feel crowded

We are a family of 4 who have just returned from this site after spending 4 nights here over the August Bank Holiday. We travelled with 3 other families and were placed all together.
Exceptionally friendly welcome on arrival. Well maintained site.
Small friendly family site with great size pitches. We have a large trailer tent. Plenty of room. Large open field space for kids to play. We had fun playing rounders and cricket.
Very modern and clean shower/toilet blocks. Free hair-dryers. Well covered wash-up area with bins for food wastage.
The site has a family games room with pool table, table tennis and table football. All free of charge. Great for a rainy day (which we had on Saturday !) A little disappointed the air hockey game was 'out of order'
Outside play area for younger guests is well secured by wooden fence and gate.
Well stocked shop with helpful staff.
Warden walks round at 11. 00pm to make sure all is quiet.
Very pleasant café on site. Non-fussy simple menu with plenty of variety. Kids menu too. Good quality food. Large portions. Excellent service from waiting staff. No need to drive off site for a decent meal !
On our rainy day we drove to Bexhill Leisure Pool. Kids loved the wave machine and flume. Gets busy in school hols obviously.
Bexhill has a small pebble beach. Low-key seaside resort. It has a few cafes, amusements and ice-cream outlets. My kids went in the sea with body boards and wetsuits (rather chilly !)
We didn't visit Hastings or Eastbourne.
All in all a fabulous break and a super site !
Well done 'Chestnut Meadow'
Will undoubtedly return next year. If they will have us ??? hee hee

We have just returned from spending the bank holiday at this site. What can I say but a fantastic family friendly site. Facilities are immaculate and the staff are very friendly. I would recommend the café for anyone wanting a decent quality meal without travelling.
Pitches are large and nicely spaced. Even after heavy rain drained quickly.
Close to being full by facilities were always clean even with the bad weather on the Saturday. Kids could feel free to roam around and play in the centre field without disturbing anyone.
Lovely area with loads to do. We will definitely be returning next year for longer and with the tent this time

Had a three day stopover at Chestnut Meadow and would highly recommend a visit. Pitch size and layout is top drawer, facilities new and spotlessly clean. The whole site has a great relaxed feel to it and the owners and staff make you feel very welcome. Club for kids and a cafe with patio were a nice touch also. A no noise rule after eleven I thought particularly good as the site had a lot of families camping. Very small niggle was a queue for the showers, but get in early. Well Recommended.

We(2 adults children 4 and 6yo)have just returned from a wonderful 10 days at chestnut meadow campsite and in general we can't fault the place. I would say it's very family friendly and children are often out and about until around 9pm riding bikes and scooters etc around the perimeter road and the 5mph for cars limit makes it quite safe. The large field space in the centre of the site is ideal for kite flying and luckily the well stocked shop on site sells them very cheap. The cafe portions are extremely large so the prices aren't that bad around £35 for 4 of us with drinks.
Showers and toilets were clean especially the gents side, the wife said some of the younger girls were left to go unsupervised and could leave a mess behind and the older girls would leave makeup removers etc on the side of the sinks but it never took long to tidy as they were often checked it seems. Bexhill is very nice with a large play area near the beach and some great water fountains on the promenade that all the kids were loving running through. Parking near the beach was free on street parking and it never took long to find a spot within 2 mins walk of the sea.
We really enjoyed our 2nd trip out in the tent and seeing this part of England we'll be going somewhere else next year but if we could take this campsite with us each year in a different area of the UK then that would be ideal.
